Chapter 1671: Part 1: Hill top base

I used the system to know that a wizard team was nearby. They were close to the entangled trees right now.

They weren’t able to sense me, but any movements could alert the Supreme Wizard on their side.

So, I stood on the same spot without making any movements.

Meanwhile,

The Supreme Wizard sensed that someone was watching him. The wizards behind him stood in confusion as well.

But none of them had the courage to ask anything. However, the feeling sensed by the Supreme Wizard didn’t last long.

At one point, he felt lighter, and his back relaxed. He realized that feeling was gone. He then turned around and told the wizards to follow him closely.

Swoosh!

In the blink of an eye, they left the place. None of them noticed the strange entangled trees near them.

A few minutes later,

I asked the system again. The result showed that they had gone away from the place. Seeing that, I sighed in relief.

Swoosh!

The next second, I went inside. The three of them were standing in the same position, having their eyes closed. Then I brought them outside.

The three of them instantly felt the ground beneath them disappear for a second. Then they appeared on the ground again.

“Open your eyes,” I said to them.

Patrick, Otto, and Hank opened their eyes. Then they saw that they were in the same place again.

“Okay guys, you can be at ease. The wizard teams have already left,” I said to them.

The three of them felt at ease the next moment. They didn’t know what had happened, but they were glad to hear that the Supreme Wizard was gone.

“Okay. I’ll see you in the morning,” I said to them before disappearing from the place.

The three of them didn’t speak, but their eyes were solemn. Hank was the most shocked one. He didn’t know the master could command the Supreme Wizards as well.

He thought they must have felt the same crisis as well.

Patrick and Otto didn’t speak. They each found a corner and sat on the stone. Hank did the same.

Like last night, each of them decided to take a watch. This time they included Hank in their team.

Time went by,

The wizards didn’t face any problems.

Meanwhile,

Inside the Gregor Mansion, I went to bed to sleep. Today was a good day. We had discovered ancient clay figurines. Fortunately, there was no danger.

But I think it’s necessary to explore other ruins as well. I can’t sit and waste time here all day. Maybe I should hand over this ruin to them.

I should find some other ruins to explore. As this idea occurred to me, I felt more confident. Then I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

The following day,

After getting out of bed, I followed my schedule. Then I didn’t sit for the practice; I decided to leave the place early in the morning.

So, I appeared outside after getting ready.

Otto, Patrick, and Hank were surprised. They didn’t expect the Master to appear this soon. Upon seeing them, I told my plan to them.

Hearing that, the three of them were stunned. They felt uncomfortable. They didn’t know why they felt clueless without having the Master around them.

I saw through their thoughts, then I tried to explain.

“If we continue to stay in one place to explore, it will take a lot of time. So, I’m going to look for other ruins. But I will return before night time. So don’t worry about anything,” I said to them.

Knowing that the Master would come back in the evening assured them. Otto and Patrick were not stupid.

From Hank, they had learned about the strength of the local forces. Most of them were Supreme Wizards. By chance, they could come across Magic Lords, but the possibility of it was very low.

The three of them then agreed to stay here and explore the ruins.

Then I nodded to them before walking out of the stone chamber. I wore the mask and made my way out of the entangled trees.

When I came outside and picked a direction, I asked the system about the direction that the wizard team left.

Then I started walking straight from the stone chamber. I didn’t even touch the ground; I was using the flight ability to move faster.

The system shielded me so that no one could sense or locate me. At the same time, I asked the system to alert me when someone appeared.

Time went by,

After going through the forest for some time, I came across a place where the terrain changed. The path was leading to some slope.

It had been one hour since I left the stone chamber. I didn’t know whether I could come across something or not.

Just as I was observing the place, the system voice sounded in my mind.

[Ding! A base camp detected at the hilltop]

Hearing that, I felt goosebumps all over my body. I was just wondering about it, but the system found something soon.

No wonder there is a slope here; there is a hilltop ahead. The dense forest had covered the place. You wouldn’t be able to notice it easily.

Then I started going towards the hilltop slowly. I was careful not to make any noise. In the blink of an eye, I covered more distance and got closer to the hilltop.

[Ding! Four level-9 Wizards were detected ahead]

The system alerted me the next second. Hearing that, I traced their location. It appeared they were guarding here to protect the base from other camps.

My mouth curved into an arc.

I had reached the limit already. The core progress was lacking. I was considered a half-step Supreme right now. I didn’t even have to use the magic spell against them.

In the blink of an eye, I appeared before one of the level-9 Wizards. He was an old man who was half asleep.

He couldn’t even sense my presence. I looked at him.

I made a decision. My eyes flashed with a gleam. I struck his chest. The next second, both the heart and mana core were crushed. The level-9 wizard died in his sleep.
