Chapter 1663: Surveying the area!

The following day,

After getting ready, I appeared outside. Patrick and Otto were already awake. They were discussing something.

My appearance alerted them. They immediately greeted me. I sat on a nearby chair and looked at them.

“Did you guys find anything?” I asked them.

Patrick and Otto looked at each other. I noticed their expressions were solemn.

Otto said, “Last night, I heard the movement of people. There are level-8, level-9, and Supreme Wizards.”

“I guess they were moving back to the base. But their movement was fast. None of them found our location,” he added.

Hearing that, I raised my eyebrows. Normally, the wizards should have noticed something. I turned around and looked at the place.

The place was well hidden. But if any wizard used their mental power, they could easily find the place.

Patrick then said, “Master, I think the forest outside becomes deadly during the nighttime.”

“The forest is really weird. I think it made those wizards flee for their lives,” he added.

I was stunned. I knew that the forest was weird. The large trees and plants moved in the daytime. So, it must be dangerous during the nighttime.

I fell into deep contemplation. I decided to explore the forest during the day.

“Let’s get ready. We are going to explore the place,” I said to them.

Patrick and Otto nodded their heads. They knew it was time to explore the forest.

Ten minutes later,

We appeared outside. The three of us exchanged looks. My gaze fell on the monstrous forests covering the place.

“We need to mark our hideout,” I said to them.

Patrick and Otto began to mark their own signs. Even if one of them erased their signs, they could find another sign.

On the other hand, I used the system function to mark this place. Even if both of them lost the sign, I could use the system function.

After doing that, the three of us selected a random direction and started moving in that way.

We were moving in mid-air. At the same time, the three of us were observing the place. We were going through the dense forest.

We wanted to explore fast, but the thick forest slowed down our speed. Since it was day one, I didn’t want to explore the whole forest in a single day.

I just wanted to explore the place around the hideout. I told my views to Patrick and Otto.

Patrick and Otto agreed to the plan. They too found the forests to be odd. They decided to explore the nearby places first.

Time went by.

I started observing from the ground first. I was looking for traces of ruins. But I couldn’t find anything.

On the other hand, the forests appeared to be more mysterious. There was no wind force, but the branches of the trees were moving.

“Master, I think we should go deeper. Maybe we could find something,” Patrick said.

Hearing that, my eyes glinted with understanding.

“Okay,” I said to them.

Then we started going further deep. It didn’t take long for us to spot wizard groups.

“Stop!” Otto said.

“Master, I heard the voices of the wizards. They are coming from the deeper part of the forest,” he added.

Hearing that, I raised my eyebrows. I was sure those wizards had important information.

Currently, we are lacking details. It was best to collect information from them.

“Otto, let’s gather the information first. Otherwise, we will be wasting time here,” I said to them.

“It’s a good idea, Master. If we are well prepared, then we can avoid most dangers,” Patrick supported the idea as well.

Then we changed the plan. Otto tried to collect more information from the traveling wizard groups.

On the other hand, Patrick was doing other important work. He was conducting a survey of the area surrounding the hideout.

Day by day, if we could do this, then I would have more information than the local forces. I held up my chin and felt satisfied with my own plan.

Time passed.

That night, the three of us returned to the underground cave. The hideout was the same.

The three of us sat in our chairs. My gaze fell on both of them.

“What did you find out?” I asked both of them.

Otto nodded his head and said, “Master, I heard the conversations of a few wizard groups. These groups have already set up a small base deeper inside the forests.”

“There appeared to be signs of ruins inside. That’s why the wizard groups camped there,” he added.

Patrick said, “I too found traces of wizards near the surroundings. But there were no other hideouts apart from ours.”

“We can extend the survey day by day,” he added further.

On the other hand, I heard their words, but I paid more attention to the forest than to the wizards. I was expecting to find something mysterious.

Yet there were no signs of monster appearances, except the signs of movement from the big trees and plants.

I decided to find out more information tomorrow. Then I spoke with them for a few minutes before appearing inside the Gregor Mansion.

Both of them were surprised again. But they recovered from their shock quickly. They were now used to it. So, they started doing their work.

Meanwhile,

The wizards from the local forces were looking for the three outsiders. They knew they had entered the camp here.

But they found no new tents or signs of their stay in the stone buildings. Which left them to think that the outsiders entered the forests to build their own hideout.

It was more dangerous for them. It showed that the outsiders were strong. They could have a background.

Some of them were based inside the deep area of the forest. They were looking for the ruins there.

If the outsiders were to know this, then the news could leak to the outside forces.

Then the local forces would have to face troubles from the outside.

The local forces had to make a decision. Either they had to wait and watch, or they had to eliminate the outsiders.
