Chapter 1654: Met Martin again

As the seconds passed, I realized that more and more spies were coming out. I started to doubt whether they were spies related to the Magic Towers or not.

Just then, a flying cab appeared, and the driver stopped before me. I smiled, entered the cab, and told the driver to drop me at the Central Plaza.

The driver was an old man. He didn’t know about the dangers surrounding me. He didn’t even ask any questions.

Swoosh!

The driver started the car. The car hovered above the ground and started going towards the destination.

Seeing that nothing felt wrong, I started paying attention to the surroundings.

[Ding! Warning]

[Malicious Intentions detected.]

The system voice sounded in my mind. Hearing that, my heart stirred. It was not coming from the spies, but from the driver.

A sharp glint flashed in my eyes.

It appeared that I had stepped on a landmine. People were boldly taking action near the Magic Tower.

“Drop me here. I need to call someone,” I said to the driver with a smile.

The old man was stunned. Then he noticed my reaction, which seemed normal. The old man didn’t find anything wrong.

But he had to listen, because we were still near the Magic Tower. A powerful wizard could appear here at any time.

So, he slowed down the car and landed near the next stop.

I smiled and walked out of the car. Then I paid the fare to the driver. After doing that, I started walking on the footpath.

There were locals using the footpath. I joined them and started walking with them.

The old man didn’t leave. He just watched the young man walk away. He was one of the men from the wizard families. They had received news that a masked man had left the Silver Tower.

The family wanted to confirm whether the person was Vincent Carey or not. The family had offered many rewards.

As long as he was able to do it, he could collect more rewards. But unfortunately, the masked man left before he could do anything.

On the other hand, the spies had reached the area. Upon seeing the old man, they walked up to him and started asking questions.

But the old man had failed. He didn’t follow the masked man out of fear. He stayed there. The masked man had already gone ahead.

The spies were disappointed. But they knew that the masked man was traveling on foot. They could still catch up to him.

Meanwhile, I took another flying cab. He dropped me at the Central Plaza a few minutes later.

The Central Plaza was filled with crowds. It was hard for people to find me there. I started going through the crowd.

I was planning to leave the city directly. Now, I needed the help of the old man, Martin, again. Last time, he helped me travel on the airship.

A few minutes later,

I arrived in front of the Brothers’ Collection Shop. My gaze fell on the name board. Last time, the old man got angry that I didn’t visit him.

Then I saw the shop was open. I opened the door and walked inside. My gaze immediately fell on the old man behind the desk.

His eyes were closed; he was asleep.

“What a day!”

“A friend has come,” the old man muttered.

The next second, I was stunned. The old man was vigilant. He opened his eyes and looked at the kid from the Silver Tower.

“Looks like your trip to the remote city was a success,” the old man said in a low tone.

Hearing that, my heart set off storms. No one knew about this news except the Forbidden Wizards.

The old man’s gaze deepened. He then smiled and said, “Kid, you are still too naive. Did you think the fight between two Forbidden Wizards could be hidden?”

A hint of understanding dawned on me.

I almost forgot about Lord Erwin’s fight. Then I sighed in relief.

Martin’s smile broadened. Actually, he wanted to ask about the outer space item. But he didn’t do it because he had already found a few rats outside.

The old man, Martin, shook his head. He didn’t know what trouble the kid had gotten into this time.

Meanwhile, I walked around the place. I found only one or two people were there.

“Guests, you guys can come next time,” the old man said to the people.

Seeing that, I was surprised. For a second, I thought they would react. But they seemed friendly with the old man.

The next second, the one or two people who were left left the room. The old man went to the exit door and closed it.

He then came back and sat down.

“Sit,” he said.

Hearing that, I sat opposite him.

“Tell me, what happened today?”

“I found a few rats staring at the shop outside,” Martin said in a serious tone.

Hearing that, I was stumped once again. The system didn’t even warn me. Yet the old man was able to find out. It must be those spies sent by the family.

Then I looked at the old man and said, “I’m planning to go outside the border. But the spies are following me.”

“Last time, I helped you. What do you want this time?” Martin asked.

“I want the same help. Because the Magic Lord is guarding the border,” I added.

Martin was not surprised. To be honest, he was surprised by the kid’s ability to sneak out and sneak inside the city.

He didn’t even know how the kid escaped last time.

Then he began to ponder. He didn’t tell the kid that many wizard families had found out the connection between the two.

On the other hand, I saw that the old man was taking too much time to think. My heart skipped a beat. It’s not that I didn’t have other ways.
