Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 1241 Rhys Perry

From MC’s Perspective:

“Wait a second!”

I heard the voice from behind. It was her. If I didn’t answer her right now, she wouldn’t give up. So I turned around and looked at her.

“What do you want?” I asked her.

Leona Perry’s eyes flickered. She was observing Vincent’s facial expression and looking for any minute details. Her cousin was dead.

Vincent Carey was undoubtedly related to the incident. All she needed was evidence to prove it. Out of helplessness, she came in person to test him.

I saw her observing me. I laughed inside. I recalled that her attitude was different earlier. Now she looked docile.

“Do you need something?” I asked again.

Leona frowned. She was thinking about whether to confront Vincent Carey or not. If she told him, there was the possibility of him spreading the news.

Her father had strictly warned others not to do that. So she gave him a deep look before asking, “Vincent Carey, you were not in your hotel room that day. Where did you go?”

Hearing that, I casually replied, “I had to leave because of urgent work.”

Leona’s eyes turned cold. But she couldn’t do anything here. It was the dorm building. The guards and others might be paying attention to them.

She then glanced at him before leaving. When she was gone, I turned around and returned to the dorm room.

Creak!

After getting inside, I closed the door. Only then did I heave a sigh of relief. I could tell that she was suspicious of me. But I wasn’t surprised.

Obviously, I had been in the Perry Family Hotel. I thought they would complain about me to Head Howard, but nothing like that happened.

I had even prepared for possible outcomes. But things were going in an unexpected way. Leona and her family seemed to have some plans.

“Don’t they suspect me?”

“Were they still searching for the killer out there?”

Many questions appeared in my mind. But unfortunately, I didn’t have any answers. Something told me not to leave the campus territory.

For some reason, the Perry Family was not taking any action. But it couldn’t be said the same when I decided to roam outside in the city.

Time passed.

Leona Perry returned to her home and talked with her father.

Head Cooper was now more worried about his own father, Callen. He feared that his father might take unilateral decisions that could affect the interests of the Perry Family and others.

Meanwhile,

In a barren place in another foreign country, a blonde-haired middle-aged man with a lean physique was traveling. He was none other than Rhys Perry, father of Charon Perry.

Rhys was on his way to work. But for some reason, he had this unsettling feeling that had lasted for several hours. It felt like something bad had happened.

“Should I go back to the family?” Rhys murmured.

It had been a long time since he had left his family and come to this foreign country. More importantly, he had avoided contacting them as well.

For some reason, he couldn’t help but think about his youngest son, Charon. His eldest son, Robin, was already a capable wizard. He was not worried about Robin.

But Charon made him worry. He was still growing under the shelter of the Perry Family. Back then, he had given him an emergency contact number. If there was any dire situation, he had asked his son to contact him.

Though he hadn’t received any call so far, the unsettling feeling was eating him inside. Rhys decided to contact his son after reaching the nearest tier city.

Time passed.

After sunset, he was able to enter the nearest tier city. There were locals everywhere. These people were from various foreign wizard countries that had immigrated here. So you could find the flavor of each wizard country here.

He then came to his rented house. After closing the door, he checked the place for any disturbances. Level-9 wizards were usually considered top powerhouses.

But in the powerful wizard nations, you could find level-9 wizards everywhere. The lower-level wizards didn’t have any say here.

After checking the place, Rhys took out a high-end digital device and tried to contact his son, Charon.

Time passed.

But he was failing to establish any connection whatsoever. Rhys’s condition worsened. The unsettling feeling that was eating away at him suddenly intensified.

Rhys made a quick decision to contact his trusted people in the Perry Family. He was not going to contact his father or his brother.

He didn’t trust them completely. Especially his brother, who was the current head of the Perry Family. He was aware of his brother’s character; his brother only cared about the interests of the Perry Family as a whole.

He then remembered a person who was close to him in the Perry Family and has the same strength as him.

It didn’t take much time for the connection to be established. Rhys’s face looked serious.

“Hello, who is this?” A female voice sounded from the other end.

“Donna, it’s me,” Rhys replied.

“Rhys, where are you?” Donna was panicking; it was clear from her voice that she was trembling.

“I’m living in a foreign country. I have been trying to contact my son, Charon. But something happened to his device. I couldn’t reach him,” Rhys said.

Donna was silent on the other end. Family Head Cooper had made it clear that no one should tell Rhys or his eldest son, Robin, about the demise of Charon Perry.

“Donna, are you there?” Rhys asked again.

The bad feeling in his heart was overpowering him again. The more she waited, the more he thought there was a problem.

Donna was his girlfriend. He doubted whether she would hide anything from him.

“Rhys, I can’t tell you because of Family Head’s order. But you should return ASAP,” Donna said.

Hearing that, Rhys’s expression turned ugly.

“What happened?”

“Is this about my son, Charon?”

“Is he alright?” Rhys asked back to back questions.

“Sorry, Rhys. I can’t tell you. If you want to know, you should come back,” she said. After saying that, Donna ended the call.

If she spent more time, she might spill the beans.
