Grand Voyage : Surviving on a Ghost Ship
Ch. 332 - Buy It!
“Eight million?”
Old Dad put on an extremely exaggerated expression. His right hand, left arm, and the small hand growing from the lower right side of his neck all waved at once as he repeatedly shook his head.
“That really won’t do. I can’t sell it! I really can’t sell it!”
Old Dad wore a bitter smile as he spoke.
Yang Yi glanced at Suna and exchanged a knowing look with her, silently indicating that there was still room for negotiation. He then raised the price a little.
The two sides haggled over the price for five or six minutes. In the end, they settled on Old Dad’s price with a twenty-percent discount: sixteen million. Not a single coin less!
Seeing that Old Dad was already becoming somewhat impatient, Yang Yi stopped bargaining and readily agreed to the transaction.
“It’s yours.”
Old Dad carefully dug the battered Light Fairy out of the hole in the Dark Core and prepared to hand her over to Yang Yi.
“Isn’t the cage included?” Yang Yi asked.
“You’ve already taken such a huge advantage, and you still want to take a large Dark Core for free? Impossible!” Old Dad said angrily. “Unless you pay extra. If you want the cage as well, you’ll have to add another four million!”
“Then forget it.”
Yang Yi did not buy the cage. He took the Light Fairy and held her in his palm, leaving only her head exposed.
She weighed probably less than fifty grams. Her weight was practically negligible.
The Light Fairy was furious and immediately began biting Yang Yi’s fingers, but she could not even break his skin. Her bite force was far too weak, and her mouth was tiny as well.
Within a few seconds, Yang Yi obtained information about the Light Fairy.
【Name: Light Fairy (Tricia)】
【Introduction: Every Holy Warrior had a rigorously trained Light Fairy as a partner, serving as a guide and supervisor. But this one was an exception.
She had failed her examination, lost two pairs of wings, and had been expelled from the Holy City.】
After reading the information, Yang Yi was utterly shocked.
He had struck gold!
This Light Fairy was actually connected to the Holy City.
As for the Holy Warriors, even the name alone made them sound incredibly powerful. They were probably the backbone of the Holy RadiantChurch—or perhaps even stronger than that.
On the surface, Yang Yi remained completely composed. He sent the information to Suna and told her to stay calm and not reveal anything.
“Pay the money first. You two can look around by yourselves afterward. As for the prices, you can ask those monkeys flying in the sky. They’ll tell you.”
Old Dad seemed unhappy and had no intention of continuing to guide them.
Yang Yi did not mind. Pretending to be casual, he touched the stomach pouch at his waist and then scattered a mountain-like pile of Conch Coins onto the ground.
“There are 27,180,800 Conch Coins here. Do you want to count them?”
Old Dad’s deformed little hand once again pulled out a strange magnifying glass.
The lens was actually half of a human face, with an eyeball in the middle, as though it had been peeled directly from someone’s face.
Holding the magnifying glass, he carefully inspected the pile of money before nodding and promptly collecting all the Conch Coins.
He was probably using some kind of spatial storage item, but Yang Yi could not tell which one.
“I also want some Light Fairy fragments. Put them in a container for me. I want one left hand, two legs, and an appropriate amount of fragments. Calculate how much that will cost.”
Old Dad walked over to the table, where the four-armed man was weighing things and placing the appropriate amounts of Light Fairy fragments into their respective containers.
“Weigh it according to what he said.”
“Yes, Old Dad.”
The four-armed man immediately followed his instructions.
Yang Yi also walked over, ostensibly to check whether the goods were correct. In reality, however, he was observing the four-armed man from the corner of his eye.
The man was clearly a prosthetic surgeon. The extra arms attached to his shoulders were obviously not his own, and there were clear signs of stitching around their bases.
“Done. The total is 3.07 million Conch Coins.”
The prosthetic surgeon took the appropriate amount of Light Fairy fragments and announced the price.
“With the twenty-percent discount, that comes to 2.456 million.”
Yang Yi did not bargain this time. He took the large Light Container filled with an excessive amount of fragments and handed it to Suna, who placed it into her Bag of Holding.
“Esteemed guest, you want to heal this Light Fairy, correct?”
“But unfortunately, that’s impossible. The physical structure of a Light Fairy is completely different from that of a human. Prosthetic surgery simply cannot work on them. Even the Limb Spider Cult cannot accomplish it, unless…”
The man did not continue. Out of professional habit, he merely informed Yang Yi that the chances of healing the Light Fairy were extremely slim.
While thanking him for his concern, Yang Yi also noticed the information hidden within his words.
From what the prosthetic surgeon had said, it seemed that prosthetic surgeons and the Limb Spider Cult could not be considered the same organization. In other words, being a prosthetic surgeon did not necessarily mean that one was a member of the Limb Spider Cult.
Seeing that he had already bought most of the essentials, Yang Yi planned to keep only two million Conch Coins and spend the rest on a major shopping spree.
However, before that, he still had one thing to ask Old Dad.
“Does the Limb Spider Cult sell anything else to you? I’d like to take a look,” Yang Yi asked Old Dad.
A puzzled expression appeared on Old Dad’s face. He clearly did not understand what Yang Yi meant.
“Don’t misunderstand. I don’t mean anything else by it. I just want to buy some materials.”
Yang Yi took out his prosthetic surgery toolkit, indirectly proving his identity.
“Oh, I see.”
“Then let Bales take you there. I’m tired, so I won’t show you around anymore. Just remember to call me when you’re ready to settle the final bill. I’m going to get some sleep.”
Old Dad seemed to have completely lost his motivation. He left the tent directly, leaving only Yang Yi, Suna, Bales, and more than twenty Light Fairies inside.
“Come on. I’ll take you there.”
The doctor named Bales tidied up the table, picked up his tools, and continued leading the way.
Yang Yi was holding the constantly struggling Light Fairy in his hand, and he felt that this was not a practical arrangement. So he put her into the pocket of his upper garment and, for good measure, used a needle and thread to sew the pocket shut.
It looked as though he had a light bulb tucked inside his pocket.
This was not difficult. Yang Yi was quite skilled at sewing by now. After all, he had even made armor that had been recognized by the system.
Suddenly, he felt a sharp sting on his neck. When he touched it, he found that it was bleeding.
“That’s a Felony Mark. Old Dad should have told you about it, right?”
“Once you commit an unforgivable crime, a Felony Mark will appear somewhere on your body, making you a member of the Holy Radiant Church’s heretic list.”
“But this is the Sea of No Light. As long as you’re not too unlucky, you won’t run into anyone from the Holy Radiant Church.”
Bales explained.
Yang Yi nodded and silently remembered what Bales had said.
“By the way, do you need a ship’s doctor? Why don’t you buy me too? I’ll only cost four million Conch Coins.”
Bales suddenly began promoting himself.
“No need. I can do it myself,” Yang Yi decisively refused.
He had no intention of recruiting a bunch of natives.
“Stop pretending. That toolkit isn’t yours, is it? I recognize it because that very toolkit was bought from here. Back then, that group of people sold all sorts of things and pooled their money together before they could afford it.”
Bales suddenly revealed this information.
Yang Yi frowned and stopped walking.
This guy knew about it, which meant Old Dad probably knew as well. Yet Old Dad had not exposed him.
No questions about its origin, no questions about its purpose, and no questions about my identity… This old man really does follow the rules.
Yang Yi thought to himself. He felt that this old man was actually fairly easy to deal with, as long as he did not violate the merchant association’s rules.
He glanced at his Exposure Level. It had risen to 37%.
I need to complete the transaction as quickly as possible. Perhaps it would be better to act alone and avoid having someone lead the way.
Yang Yi looked at Bales and said, “I really can do it. How about I demonstrate it for you? I can quickly remove and reattach an arm.”
“Sure. How long would you need? My fastest record is four hours.”
“Four hours? I shouldn’t need that long. Removing it will only take one second. As for putting it back on, I can try it right now.”
An arm suddenly appeared in Yang Yi’s hand.
It was the very arm he had removed from Bales’s shoulder. He had done it so silently and effortlessly that it was practically supernatural, leaving Bales utterly amazed.
“How did you do that? That was absolutely incredible!”
“Pretty amazing, right? Now watch carefully. I’ll attach it back for you.”
“Sure thing.”
Bales sat down to make the surgery more convenient for Yang Yi. He also intended to observe and learn from him.
Yang Yi, meanwhile, took out the filthy prosthetic surgery toolkit and prepared to begin the operation.
