Chapter 462: The Lightning Domain
The Lightning Domain
Gareth clenched his fists.
His eyes were bloodshot.
"Come."
The word was almost a growl.
"Let me see whether Zeon’s student truly deserves to inherit his name."
Across from him, Leon remained completely silent.
He stood alone above the Heavenly Abyss.
The Supreme Demon Sword was beneath his feet.
Its ancient surface reflected the cold light of the lightning.
The sword did not tremble.
Leon did not tremble either.
His purple eyes quietly examined the enormous formation above him.
Ten thousand bolts of lightning.
An imposing display.
Enough to make almost anyone hesitate.
But Leon merely tilted his head slightly.
"So this is your answer?"
His voice was calm.
There was no mockery in it.
That almost made it worse.
Gareth’s expression darkened.
Leon slowly lifted his foot.
The moment his sole left the Supreme Demon Sword—
the sword trembled.
A faint hum passed through the air.
Then Leon’s figure moved.
He did not retreat.
He did not dodge.
He stepped forward.
One step.
The surrounding space rippled.
The second step landed.
The pressure around him suddenly exploded.
Then Leon bent his knees slightly.
His robes snapped violently behind him.
The next instant—
Boom!
He shot forward.
His body became a streak of light.
He jumped straight into the endless domain of lightning like a cannonball fired toward the heavens.
The distance between them disappeared almost instantly.
The thousands upon thousands of lightning bolts roared toward him.
Leon’s purple eyes remained completely calm.
The Supreme Demon Sword followed beneath him.
Its blade released a terrifying sword intent.
The two opposing forces collided in the sky.
Thunder shook the heavens.
Sword intent tore through the darkness.
Everyone below held their breath.
No one dared blink.
Because the battle they had been waiting for had finally begun.
Leon’s voice carried through the storm.
"I want to see what you have!"
In the blink of an eye, Leon had already charged into the lightning formation.
The moment his foot crossed the boundary, the world seemed to change.
Dark clouds covered the sky like an enormous black ocean. Lightning crawled through them in countless branching veins, illuminating the Heavenly Abyss in brief flashes of silver-white light.
The air smelled of burning stone.
Mana surged violently through the void.
Leon did not slow down.
He pushed out with one hand and instantly used the Ultimate Hand Strike, sending a palm strike forward.
The force of the palm distorted the surrounding space.
Before the attack could travel far, a bolt of lightning tore through the sky.
It descended with terrifying speed.
The lightning was thick enough to resemble a pillar of heaven itself. Its brilliance swallowed everything around it as it headed straight for Leon.
Boom!
The collision shook the entire Heavenly Abyss.
The sound rolled across the land like thunder from the depths of the heavens.
Dust and broken stones were lifted from the ground. The surrounding air twisted violently, while countless sparks scattered in every direction.
Yet Leon did not retreat.
Not even half a step.
His long, shoulder-length black hair whipped wildly behind him. His purple eyes remained calm beneath the flashing light of the lightning.
His midnight robes, embroidered with thin amethyst patterns, fluttered around his body.
The lightning struck his palm.
For a moment, the entire world seemed frozen.
Then—
Boom!
The violent force exploded outward.
Two figures floated in the void beneath the rolling dark clouds with a shocking bang.
One stood within a sea of lightning.
The other remained completely composed.
Standing in the Heavenly Abyss, Leon slowly raised his right hand.
Thin strands of lightning crawled between his fingers.
They flickered across his skin before dispersing into the surrounding air.
Leon lowered his eyes and examined them with mild curiosity.
Then he muttered to himself,
"Lightning domain? Hmm... This invasive power is indeed powerful."
His voice was calm.
There was no fear in it.
If anything, there was a faint trace of appreciation.
Gareth’s expression changed slightly.
What Leon had entered was no ordinary battlefield.
What Gareth used was the Sky Breaker Academy’s ancient secret technique, the Nine Heavens Divine Lightning Attraction.
Once this technique was activated, it could form a terrifying lightning domain around the battlefield.
The domain itself was like a prison made from heaven’s thunder.
Anyone who entered it would be attacked by thousands of bolts of lightning.
And these were not ordinary lightning bolts.
Each strand contained terrifying destructive power.
Even a powerful cultivator could be seriously injured if they were careless.
More importantly, the lightning domain did not merely attack an opponent.
It strengthened Gareth himself.
Within the domain, his speed and strength would be greatly increased.
Every movement became sharper.
Every step became faster.
Every strike carried the weight of the lightning surrounding him.
Leon narrowed his purple eyes slightly.
He could feel it clearly.
Gareth’s aura had changed.
His movements had become difficult to predict.
One moment, his presence was in front of Leon.
The next, it seemed to disappear into the lightning.
His body seemed to merge with the domain itself.
It was an extremely mysterious technique.
But Leon simply smiled.
In the void, Gareth’s voice suddenly rang out.
"Kid! You have guts to even dare to enter my lightning domain..."
His voice carried undisguised confidence.
The surrounding lightning roared behind him.
Gareth looked at Leon as though he were already looking at a dead man.
This young man certainly had strength.
Gareth could admit that.
But strength alone was not enough.
The problem was that Leon was too confident.
Too calm.
He had actually stepped directly into Gareth’s greatest advantage.
That was no longer courage.
It was arrogance.
And arrogant people usually had only one ending.
Death.
Gareth’s eyes became cold.
"In here, I’m invincible. Today... even a God in heaven can’t save you."
His voice had barely fallen when his body moved.
Boom!
Lightning erupted beneath his feet.
Gareth instantly struck out with his palm.
He was incredibly fast.
The distance between them vanished almost instantly.
One moment he was surrounded by lightning.
