Chapter 506 (Massage Chair Extra - )
He began frantically searching the cell for possible clues, hoping to find evidence to prove his innocence.
But aside from the cold stone walls and damp air, there was absolutely nothing.
Just as Bruce was about to give up, he remembered the voice from next door, he took a deep breath, he couldn’t surrender like this.
He knocked on the adjoining wall.
"Hey, tell me, how do you know all this?"
No response.
Bruce frowned, he spoke in a low voice, "I know you’re here, can you help me find the truth?"
The cell was completely silent, as if there would be no reply.
But Bruce didn’t give up, he continued softly, "I know you have the ability to help me, I am willing to pay any price to find the truth."
Right at that moment, the voice rang out again, carrying satisfaction and anticipation, "Very good, Bruce, you have taken the first step, next, I will give you some clues, but you will need to find the answers yourself."
Bruce’s heart skipped a beat, he stared at the wall as if he could see the mysterious figure through solid stone.
"What clue?" he asked urgently.
The voice chuckled softly, "Do you remember if anything unusual happened in Heaven-Sealing Pass before the demonic beasts appeared? Or did anyone act out of the ordinary?"
Bruce closed his eyes, trying hard to recall, scenes of daily life surfaced in his mind, the busy figures of workers, the rigorous training of soldiers, the stern faces of masters, but to pinpoint something truly abnormal, he couldn’t think of anything.
"I... I can’t remember," he said, frustrated.
"That’s fine, this is just the beginning," the voice comforted, "Start your investigation with Valen’s death, see if there are any overlooked clues."
Bruce nodded, he needed to recall and observe much more carefully, he took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down.
In the days that followed, Bruce spent one long day and night after another inside his cell, he constantly replayed the events leading up to Valen’s death, trying to find even a thread of a clue, he also began paying close attention to the guards’ conversations, hoping to glean useful information.
Finally, one day, he heard something highly unusual in their chatter.
"Did you hear? Before he died, Valen secretly made a trip to the Central District, he acted incredibly suspicious after he came back," one guard whispered.
"The Central District? That’s restricted, only a few top officials are allowed in, how could Valen get in there?" the other asked in surprise.
"Who knows? He died not long after returning, maybe he encountered something unholy inside," the first guard said mysteriously, "Otherwise, who would be stupid enough to just run out of Heaven-Sealing Pass for no reason?"
Bruce’s heart hammered against his ribs, this could be a crucial clue.
The Central District was the absolute core of Heaven-Sealing Pass, aside from his Master and a select few, no one was permitted to enter, not even him, the guards’ words had awakened him, why did Valen insist on going out that specific night? How did they just happen to run into demonic beasts?
Bruce furrowed his brows tightly, he knew getting caught in the Central District would make his Master furious again, but he decided to go, Valen’s death couldn’t remain shrouded in mystery.
"I’m ready, teleport me out," Bruce whispered toward the adjacent cell.
"Have you truly made up your mind? Once I use this power, it might cause irreversible consequences for you," the voice warned, "Are you certain you can bear the price?"
Bruce took a deep breath and nodded heavily, "I am certain, I didn’t have any friends when I came to Heaven-Sealing Pass, it was Valen and the others who approached me, only then did I have companions."
"Alright, get ready, I am going to begin," the voice instructed, "You have fifteen minutes, that is when the guards return, and I will pull you back, if you discover anything, do not act on impulse."
"I understand."
A blood-red aura appeared beside Bruce, enveloping him instantly, the next second, his figure vanished.
Bruce’s feet landed on the bluestone bricks of Heaven-Sealing Pass, he swiftly dashed toward the Central District, his heart a mix of nervousness and anticipation, when he arrived at the core of the fortress, he discovered that his Master’s formation was indeed set up here.
An eerie atmosphere permeated the surroundings, as if something were spying on him from the dark, but Bruce did not retreat, he had to find the truth.
His identity as Adam’s disciple proved useful, to help him deal with emergencies, his Master had previously given him special formation disks, Bruce carefully took one out and, following Adam’s instructions, placed it gently on the ground.
The disk emitted a faint glow, establishing resonance with the surrounding array, power flowed out from it, silently dismantling the outer blockade and allowing him to enter safely.
Inside the Central District, it was deathly silent, only the occasional wind whispered in his ears, Bruce’s heartbeat echoed through the empty area, he looked around nervously, searching for clues.
The buildings here looked exceptionally ancient, the walls were carved with complex runes exuding a mysterious aura, he reached out to touch them but felt a strong repulsive force, as if some power was stopping him.
Bruce’s heart chilled, he couldn’t act recklessly, he continued forward, searching for places where clues might be hidden.
Suddenly, his gaze was drawn to a towering spire, that tower was distinctly different from the surrounding buildings, radiating a bizarre and formidable presence, he approached carefully, feeling a strong oppressive weight from within.
Taking a deep breath, he gathered his courage and pushed open the tower doors, behind them lay a dim corridor flanked by strange artifacts and statues, Bruce walked down it, his heart full of apprehension and curiosity.
Suddenly, his footsteps created a strange reverberation, he stopped and listened closely, realizing the echoes seemed to convey some sort of message, he closed his eyes, trying to catch the information hidden within, gradually, he heard indistinct sounds, like someone whispering, he tried his best to decipher those voices, but found himself unable to fully understand them.
