However, for a teenager full of vitality and curiosity, such a life was undoubtedly suffocating, it caused Bruce to grow increasingly irritable, constantly feeling trapped in an endless void of boredom.

He longed to escape this monotonous existence and find some excitement, after all, he was still just a child, a playful nature was inevitable, if a young boy was lifeless and lacked even a hint of lively temperament, could he still be called a youth?

He realized he was in the golden years of his life and deserved more laughter and adventure, rather than being shackled to endless cultivation and construction.

Thus, Bruce began looking for youths of a similar age within Heaven-Sealing Pass, he longed to play, explore, and even do normally forbidden things with them, he believed only by being around his peers could he find his own happiness and freedom.

As time passed, Bruce got to know some like-minded teenagers, together, they frequently began sneaking out of Heaven-Sealing Pass.

"I’m going crazy living like this," Bruce would often whisper to the moonlight outside his window, an unyielding light flashing in his eyes, he knew he was in the prime of his youth and should be experiencing joy and adventure, not being bound by endless training and labor.

One night, Bruce heard Valen’s voice from beneath the city wall, "Bruce, are you ready for a real adventure?"

Valen’s voice was full of temptation and mystery, carrying a kind of magic that made it irresistible.

Bruce joined Valen’s group without hesitation, in the dead of night, this group of like-minded youths sneaked out of Heaven-Sealing Pass.

They traversed the pitch-black forest, moonlight spilling through the gaps in the leaves to form dappled shadows on the ground, they were heading to a city several hundred kilometers away to live it up.

The forest was permeated with a mysterious aura, as if hiding endless secrets.

Suddenly, a low and terrifying roar broke the silence of the woods.

A pack of demonic beasts charged out from the darkness, they were massive, their fur flashing with an eerie light, their eyes burning like flames, their claws were sharp as blades, capable of tearing through solid rock, and their fangs could pierce steel in an instant.

Roaring, they lunged at Bruce and the others as if intent on tearing them to shreds.

Bruce’s heart leaped into his throat as a wave of fear washed over him, but he knew he couldn’t back down, he gripped his longsword tightly, fighting side by side with Valen and the rest.

They wielded their weapons, engaging in a life-and-death struggle with the beasts.

"Be careful, their strength is far from ordinary!" Valen shouted, he swung his sword, each strike carrying the fierce whistle of the wind, emitting ear-piercing metallic clangs whenever it collided with the beasts’ claws.

Bruce threw himself into battle with all his might, although he usually found cultivation boring, he hadn’t neglected his techniques, he nimbly dodged the beasts’ attacks while looking for an opportunity to counter.

Noticing a flaw in one beast’s abdomen, he thrust his sword forward without hesitation, the blade sliced through its fur and pierced deeply into its stomach, the beast let out a miserable shriek and collapsed, its blood dyeing the surrounding earth red.

But this was only one beast in the pack.

More surged from all directions, roaring and pouncing, every attack carrying devastating power, Bruce, Valen, and the others fell into a bitter struggle, their bodies were quickly covered in wounds, but they didn’t give up, stubbornly fighting on.

The battle dragged on, and Bruce felt his strength gradually draining, each swing of his sword became heavier, but he gritted his teeth and persevered, holding on was their only hope.

Just when he felt he could barely hold on, Valen suddenly shouted, "I found their weakness!"

He pointed at the head of a demonic beast, where a faintly glowing gemstone was embedded.

Bruce rejoiced, he immediately adjusted his attacks, striking at the beast’s head with full force, his sword thrust straight into the skull.

With a sharp crack, the gemstone shattered, a powerful surge of energy erupted from the creature as it let out an agonizing roar and collapsed.

Elated, the group began aiming all their strikes at the beasts’ heads, one by one, the demonic beasts fell.

The battle was finally over.

Bruce sat on the ground panting heavily, his heart filled with relief and lingering fear, he looked over at Valen and the others, seeing them on the ground as well, wearing exhausted yet satisfied smiles.

"We did it." Valen shouted excitedly, "We defeated these demonic beasts."

However, just as they thought the fight was truly over, a surviving beast rushed out from the shadows, launching a sneak attack on Valen.

Completely off guard, Valen was viciously struck by the beast’s claws, he let out a miserable scream and crumpled to the ground.

Bruce’s heart seized, he rushed forward to save his friend, but the beast’s power was too overwhelming, he couldn’t even get close.

"Valen!" Bruce shouted, but Valen had already lost consciousness.

The beast roared, preparing to launch a fatal strike on the defenseless boy.

Anger and grief consumed Bruce’s heart, gripping his sword, he charged with every ounce of remaining strength, yet the beast’s power far exceeded his expectations, easily dodging his attacks.

The battle fell into a desperate stalemate, Bruce knew he couldn’t defeat this beast alone, but he refused to let Valen die like this, he took a deep breath, preparing one final, desperate strike.

But right at that moment, the beast suddenly let out a shrill roar and collapsed.

To his astonishment, Bruce saw a dagger embedded in its abdomen, a dagger bearing the official insignia of Heaven-Sealing Pass.

Reinforcements from Heaven-Sealing Pass! Bruce’s heart leaped with joy, but immediately plummeted back into deep sorrow.

He walked to Valen’s side and gently gathered him into his arms, Valen’s injuries were too severe, a single claw strike had completely destroyed his dantian, he had already lost all signs of life.

Furthermore, Bruce knew that with their group caught sneaking out, they would face severe consequences, the worst part was that someone had actually died, he didn’t even dare imagine how furious his Master was going to be.

Following Valen’s death, the entire battlefield descended into a deathly silence, the roars of the demonic beasts had vanished, leaving only the sound of sand and gravel whipped up by the wind sweeping across the battlefield, along with the heavy breathing of Bruce and his surviving companions.
