Chapter 498 (Inspiration Capsule Extra - )
Inside the room, Silvan took a deep breath and placed his hands over his sister’s dantian, he closed his eyes and began to mobilize his spiritual energy, carefully guiding the vile energy, attempting to draw it out of his sister’s body and into his own.
The process was grueling, sweat beaded on Silvan’s forehead, but he refused to give up, he could not afford to fail.
After immense effort, the black formation was finally transferred from Serene’s dantian into Silvan’s body.
A biting chill instantly radiated from his own dantian, but he didn’t flinch, he immediately mobilized his spiritual energy to suppress the sinister force.
Having relocated the formation, Silvan’s complexion turned deathly pale, he knew his current cultivation wasn’t strong enough to completely suppress the wicked formation, but he believed that continued diligent cultivation would eventually yield a permanent solution.
He walked out of the room, seeing his pale face, his parents rushed over.
"Silvan, how are you? Is Serene..." his mother asked frantically.
Silvan shook his head, gesturing for them not to worry, "I have transferred the formation into my own body and temporarily suppressed it, however, this is only a temporary fix, I need to find the cultivator who planted it to resolve the root of the problem."
His father fell silent for a moment, "Silvan, do what you must with peace of mind, I will take good care of Serene and your mother, just be careful out there."
Silvan nodded, resolve gleaming in his eyes, he bore the heavy burden of saving his sister and his family, he had to become even stronger.
Thus, he carved out a secluded cultivation cave in the hills near the village, this way, he could guard the village while cultivating daily to suppress the formation within him.
The bastard who planted it might come back.
Once he grew strong enough to shatter the formation, Silvan planned to take his entire family and leave this small village far behind.
Inside his body, Bruce’s knowledge of cultivation was incredibly shallow, so he had no idea how to dismantle a life-draining formation either, fortunately, Silvan’s realm was just enough to suppress it, this tragic family had finally, temporarily, weathered the storm.
Watching quietly with his chin resting on his hand, Adam let out a helpless sigh, the true suffering was only just beginning.
The scene before Bruce’s eyes began to shift and fast-forward.
Thanks to Silvan’s identity as a cultivator and his sister’s miraculous recovery, the family’s standard of living vastly improved, meat became a regular part of their meals, and they even moved into a brand-new house.
As they settled in, everyone’s face overflowed with blissful smiles, it seemed the cruel cage of reality had finally set them free, even Bruce, observing from within, felt genuine joy for them.
...
After a hearty meal, Silvan’s family retired to their rooms, drifting into sweet dreams.
Deep in the night.
Serene clutched her stomach and climbed out of bed, she had eaten too much at dinner and was feeling unwell.
"Hmm? Brother, are you up too?" She walked out and saw Silvan standing in the living room by the table.
However, she didn’t pause long, her stomach was quite upset.
When Serene returned, she found Silvan still standing in the exact same spot.
"Brother, what’s wrong? Is the teapot empty? Let me fetch some from the kitchen!"
Assuming he was thirsty, she brought back a fresh pot of tea.
"Here, Brother, for you."
She handed the teapot to Silvan, but he completely ignored her, standing dead still without reaction.
"Brother? What’s wrong?"
She gently nudged him.
Silvan’s body gave a violent shudder before he slowly turned his head.
"Ah... it’s nothing."
He shook his head.
"What are you zoning out about in the middle of the night?" Serene placed the teapot on the table, preparing to pour a cup.
"Huh? Why is one of the cups missing?"
She stared at the table, there were supposed to be four cups, but now there were only three.
"Mom probably took it to the kitchen!"
"That’s possible, here you go, Brother, thank you for everything you’ve done for this family," she didn’t overthink it.
"Haha, it’s my duty," Silvan smiled.
After the siblings clinked cups and drank, they returned to their rooms.
Everything seemed peaceful and idyllic.
However, within Silvan’s body, Bruce’s eyes were blown wide open in sheer horror.
...
Bruce’s eyes widened, for he had just witnessed the most bizarre scene of his life.
Silvan had eaten a cup, he had actually eaten a cup raw.
After Silvan fell asleep, an unknown amount of time passed before he climbed out of bed, eyes still tightly shut, he slowly walked to the table, picked up a cup, and swallowed it right down.
Bruce’s blood ran cold, what was going on? Wasn’t Silvan perfectly fine during the day?
The scene shifted.
Over the next few days, Silvan acted as if nothing had happened, but a few nights later, he climbed out of bed again deep in the night, this time, he ate a live chicken from the yard.
Afterward, it happened more and more frequently, almost every night, he would get up and swallow things raw, some were inanimate objects, some were living creatures.
Most importantly, Silvan was completely unaware, when he woke the next morning, it was as if nothing had happened, even his stomach showed no abnormalities.
Bizarre, far too bizarre, Bruce couldn’t believe his eyes, what was wrong with Silvan? Could it be the formation? But wasn’t it suppressed? And what kind of formation was this eerie?
Bruce couldn’t figure it out, if only Master were here, he would definitely know what was going on.
As more things disappeared from the house, Silvan’s family finally realized something was wrong.
"Brother, has a thief been breaking in? Why are so many things missing?" Serene asked in confusion.
"That’s right, son, we’ve lost quite a few chickens too, at first I suspected a weasel, but everyone else’s chickens are fine, only ours are being taken," Lillian spoke up in puzzlement.
"I’ll keep watch tonight and see if I catch anything," Silvan nodded, he found it strange too, one morning, he had woken up to discover his own shoes were missing.
This was extremely strange, even if there was a thief, why steal his shoes? Furthermore, with his level of strength, how could he fail to detect a thief’s aura? If the thief was a cultivator much stronger than him, then it was possible.
