Global Survival: I Have Endless Skeletons
Chapter 609: Fidelia Visit
A sleek black sports car stopped in front of the mansion. The engine remained running for a few seconds before finally going quiet.
The guards stationed around the mansion immediately turned their attention toward it. The door opened and a figure stepped out.
Fidelia.
The moment she emerged from the car, many of the guards found themselves staring.
She wore a long red gown that flowed naturally around her body. The fabric cut from the thigh downward in a way that revealed her long, graceful legs whenever she moved.
Her long hair fell naturally around her shoulders, framing a face that carried both elegance and confidence. The well fitted gown emphasized her slender yet curvaceous figure without taking away from the graceful aura surrounding her.
She looked completely different from the woman in the abyss. Instead, she looked like a noble young woman arriving for an important event.
The aura surrounding her was impossible to ignore. Many of the guards had seen beautiful women before.
The Starfall family was one of the most influential families in Suncrest City, and beautiful guests occasionally visited the mansion.
Therefore, the guards were not inexperienced when it came to seeing attractive women.
But Fidelia was different.
There was something about her presence that made people instinctively pay attention.
Several guards swallowed hard before quickly looking away and it was then that they were supposed to be doing their jobs.
Before any of them could recover from their surprise, the entrance of the mansion opened and Thoren stepped outside.
A bright smile appeared on his face when he saw Fidelia.
Without the dark clothing he normally wore while exploring the Abyss, he looked considerably more relaxed. He was dressed casually in a simple polo shirt and a pair of jeans.
Yet his appearance had not become less imposing.
If anything, his handsomeness seemed even more pronounced.
His silver hair was slightly messy, and his deep blue eyes remained calm, but the aura surrounding him had become much stronger.
His mere presence was enough to create a subtle sense of reverence.
"You look good." He said calmly.
Fidelia smiled. "Thank you."
Her smile became slightly wider as she looked him over. "You’re also looking good."
Thoren chuckled and walked toward her. For a moment, neither of them said anything else.
They simply stood there, looking at each other. There was a subtle familiarity between them that did not require many words.
"Shall we?" Thoren reached out his hand.
Fidelia looked at his hand for a moment before placing hers into it.
"Sure..."
Thoren gently held her hand and led her toward the mansion.
Inside the mansion, Serene, Ardyn, and Elara were still trying to figure out who Thoren’s mysterious visitor could be.
The moment the three members of the Starfall family saw her, they became silent.
Serene’s eyes widened slightly and Ardyn raised his eyebrows.
Even Elara, who had been complaining only moments earlier, completely forgot about her previous irritation.
The woman before her was simply too striking.
Thoren glanced at his family. "Everyone, this is my friend, Fidelia."
Fidelia gave them a polite smile. "It’s nice to meet you."
For several seconds, nobody answered. Elara stared at Fidelia without blinking and then the words escaped her mouth.
"You’re beautiful..."
Fidelia blinked and then she smiled.
"Thank you."
Serene recovered from her surprise and smiled warmly. "Welcome to our home, Fidelia."
"Thank you."
Fidelia’s voice was respectful but relaxed, and that immediately made Serene feel more comfortable around her.
Ardyn also smiled. "Anyone who is a friend of Thoren is welcome here."
He then led Fidelia toward one of the seats while he also took the seat nearby.
Without hesitation, Elara moved closer to Fidelia. Her curiosity was obvious.
"So you’re the Fidelia my brother talked about?"
Fidelia turned toward her. "You’ve heard about me?"
Elara nodded enthusiastically.
"Of course. My brother doesn’t talk much about his adventures, so whenever he does mention someone, I remember it."
Thoren looked at his sister. "I don’t remember talking about her that much."
"You don’t have to talk about someone a lot for me to remember."
Elara smiled mischievously. Thoren immediately knew that she was going to start asking questions again.
Fidelia seemed to notice it as well and laughed softly.
"It’s fine. You can ask."
Elara’s eyes immediately lit up.
"Really?"
Fidelia nodded.
"Really."
That was enough.
Elara began asking questions.
Both of them knew there were certain things that were better left inside the Abyss, especially the most terrifying parts of their experiences.
They talked about their encounters, making it fun and lively. They talked about the strange beast living on each floor.
Occasionally, they mentioned the dangers of the wilderness and some of the battles they had fought.
Whenever the conversation approached something too dangerous, they naturally changed the subject or described it in a much simpler way.
Thoren did the same.
Despite having met the Starfall family only for the first time, she quickly blended into the conversation as though she had already known them for a long time.
For the first time in a long while, Thoren sat among his family and with a friend without thinking about enemies, undead, ancient ruins, or the mysteries waiting inside the Abyss.
After gisting for a few minutes, Serene rose to her feet and she looked at Fidelia.
"I heard you’re a good cook? Is that so?"
Stunned for a moment, Fidelia shot Thoren a glare before she responded with a shy expression. "I’m trying my best but compared to you. I know I still have a lot to learn."
"Hmm... I see. Come, follow me to the kitchen." She gestured with her hand as she began to walk toward the kitchen.
Fidelia was deeply surprised at how easy and open the Starfall was. Many would not have invited her into their kitchen for the first time.
Just the action alone made her heart blossom as she quickly get on her feet and follow Serene into the kitchen.
When she reached the kitchen entrance, she couldn’t help but look over her shoulder and shot Thoren a fierce glare.
