Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator
Chapter 885: The Land Where Deities Are Imprisoned
- The Land Where Deities Are Imprisoned
"So this is the system's territory. It's not easy to get in here... You wouldn't be the new general store owner, would you?"
Scarlatti asked with some surprise.
"This is the system's territory? I am indeed the general store owner, but I came here using an Exploration Mission Card."
Lin Ye could also choose not to be the general store owner.
"That's a relief then. The new general store owner hasn't arrived yet, so I should still have time to collect Crystals."
If the boss had already arrived, Scarlatti would have to leave this place as soon as possible.
"Do you have the technology to purify Rule Fragments? Could you give me a copy? I can trade Crystals for it."
If he could obtain the purification technology for Rule Fragments, Lin Ye would save a lot of time.
"No, we collect these Rule Crystals to make rule-protective suits. We don't need purification technology at all. You want to purify the Rule Fragments inside?"
Scarlatti walked out of the general store together with Lin Ye. She took out a rocking chair and placed it next to Lin Ye's."That's right, I want to purify a few Rule Fragments. What is a rule-protective suit?"
Lin Ye had never seen this kind of protective suit.
"It's a suit filled with rule power, used for exploring certain Dangerous Areas. If you want, I can make a few for you.
Also, you can sell me those Crystals. Those Crystals can't be purified at all."
Scarlatti sat down next to Lin Ye. Seeing him here, she no longer felt rushed.
"Why can't they be purified?"
Lin Ye naturally wasn't going to give up that easily.
"Do you know what kind of place this is?"
Scarlatti asked in return.
"The Land Where Deities Are Imprisoned?"
Lin Ye thought of his new title.
"You actually know? But you certainly don't know how many deities are imprisoned here."
Scarlatti took out a bottle of iced drink and poured a glass for Lin Ye.
"...It can't be that many, right?"
Lin Ye was somewhat glad there was no spiritual energy here. Otherwise, he might have spread his Parasitism Network and dug up Rule Crystals everywhere.
"It's a great many. I don't know the exact number myself.
At some period, the system mass-produced deities, but those deities didn't meet the system's expectations, so the system disposed of all those inferior deities.
And this place is where the system disposes of inferior deities.
A massive amount of inferior Rule Fragments are buried here. Those Rule Fragments mixed together and eventually formed this murky type of Rule Crystal. Even if you found a method to purify rules, you'd only end up with inferior Rule Fragments fused with multiple rules.
Those things are completely useless. No one would absorb that kind of Rule Fragment either."
Scarlatti didn't want Lin Ye wasting his time here.
This Plane was nothing more than an extremely dangerous rule garbage dump, with some inferior deities still clinging to life here.
"So that's how it is. How many Crystals do you need? I'll be leaving soon anyway. The next general store owner should be arriving shortly."
Lin Ye hadn't abandoned his rule purification plan, but he wouldn't devote too much attention to this project either.
"I need a lot of Crystals. After all, getting in here isn't easy. When did the previous boss die?"
Scarlatti turned to look at Lola.
"Yesterday. I don't know who killed the boss."
Lola answered hastily.
She now realized this place was where the system imprisoned deities. If she missed this opportunity, she might never be able to leave here again.
"Oh, then there's still plenty of time. Affected by the system and those deities, the flow of time in this Plane differs from the outside world. In the short term, the system won't let you go back."
If that weren't the case, Scarlatti wouldn't have been able to come in and collect Crystals either.
"That's great. I can stay here for a while longer."
Lin Ye wanted to craft all the materials in his hands and the knowledge he possessed into Starfish Ornaments. After all, once he returned, his Special Ability would no longer be usable.
"You seem to be selling something quite interesting."
Scarlatti gazed at the large starfish approaching from the distance. Last time she was here, there was no such thing.
"This is a Starfish Ornament. It has many different functions... Here's the function list. You can pick a few you like from it."
Lin Ye transmitted a spiritual imprint to Scarlatti.
"You really are terrifying. It's just a pity that the system..."
Scarlatti rubbed her head, hesitating mid-sentence.
"It doesn't matter."
That wasn't something Lin Ye needed to worry about.
"I want this Starfish Ornament. Do you have any in stock?"
Scarlatti sent a segment of spiritual imprint to Lin Ye.
"Here."
Lin Ye casually crafted a Starfish Ornament.
"That simple?"
Scarlatti took the Starfish Ornament in surprise. She placed it on the ground, and the Starfish Ornament expanded and grew, transforming into a two-meter-tall colorful starfish.
"I'm an expert Starfish Ornament maker, after all."
Even while speaking, Lin Ye didn't stop. One Starfish Ornament after another was placed on the table beside him, then stocked onto the shelves by the Fleshy Monsters and Lola.
"This is way too useful."
Scarlatti controlled the colorful starfish to sway its body, making all kinds of movements.
"This kind of ornament can only be used for scouting. Aside from remote control, there's nothing particularly special about it."
Lin Ye had originally wanted to craft a Starfish Ornament that could spread parasitically, but unfortunately, he failed.
"Can you control many of them at once? I want to use them to go mine outside. I know plenty of mining areas in the wild, but deities are imprisoned beneath all of them, and there are lots of dangerous things nearby. Previously, I always hired people to mine there."
That was why Scarlatti had chosen this Starfish Ornament.
"That's easy. I'm a Mining Master, after all.
We can send several squads of starfish to mine in the mining areas. The only problem is the safety issue."
Lin Ye crafted more than a dozen parasitic Fleshy Starfish and handed half of them to Scarlatti.
"There's no need to worry about safety. We'll just bring a few mining picks along. Even if they don't come back, it doesn't matter."
This was born of experience. Scarlatti had previously hired some powerful individuals to mine in the mining areas, but when facing a deity, the strong and the weak made no difference whatsoever. It was better to send more weak ones instead—even if just one returned, it would still be a profit.
"That's true. I can have starfish bodyguards holding Starfish Ornaments stay outside the mining areas. That way, we won't have to worry about problems on the way."
Lin Ye didn't plan to get near those mining areas. He was a Survivor of the system. If he ran into those imprisoned deities, it would probably cause him a great deal of trouble.
"That's perfect. As long as I dig up enough Crystals, I can head back ahead of schedule."
Scarlatti didn't like staying in a place like this. Both the system and those deities were dangerous to her.
"Excuse me, would it be possible for you to take me out with you as well?"
The two hadn't been keeping their conversation secret from Lola, and Lola wanted to leave this place too.
"Of course not. This is where the system imprisons deities. How could it possibly let living beings inside leave freely?"
Scarlatti answered with utmost bluntness.
