Global Lords: The Undead's Mobile Fortress
Chapter 345 - 177: Fortress Charge 3
They wanted to prepare for battle, but they were paralyzed with fear. ’How the hell are we supposed to prepare for this?’
’We can handle killing people. We can handle killing the Undead. But destroying a whole city? A mountain? We really can’t do that! We’ve never had to fight something like this before!’
In that moment, the Alliance Soldiers were utterly dumbfounded, their minds on the verge of collapse. They truly had no idea what to do. Even though they had taken up their weapons, they were at a complete loss, with no clue how to even begin to fight.
’Use the Catapults?’
’The problem is, the city is moving! There’s no way to aim!’
’Send in the Giant Monsters and other large units?’
’What kind of unit is as big as a city? Sending anything out there would be pointless!’
Some Alliance Soldiers ran around in chaos, others prayed to their Ancestors, while the rest simply clutched their weapons, completely bewildered. Li Ziyu’s "Full Army Assault" had left them utterly disoriented.
’Compared to the Undead’s "Full Army Assault," our own version looks like a joke. Now *this* is a true all-out attack—they even brought the whole city with them.’
’We can’t compete with this!’
It wasn’t just the Alliance Soldiers; even Palamede felt a wave of helplessness wash over him. He truly had no idea how to handle this situation.
Regardless of what they were thinking, the Undead Fortress continued to advance at its top speed, drawing ever closer to the Alliance Camp.
"Deploy the Skeleton Undead!"
Li Ziyu stared at the Alliance Camp, which was now within arm’s reach and had begun launching Ranged Attacks, and gave the order without a moment’s hesitation.
Like dumplings being dropped into a pot, one Skeleton Undead after another leaped from the fortress, shattering into pieces as they hit the ground. But they quickly reassembled themselves, their jaws clacking, and snatched up their weapons to charge at the Alliance Army.
"Charge in!"
The fortress, after all, showed no sign of stopping. It plowed straight ahead, crushing everything in its path—whether it was barricades, tents, or Alliance Soldiers. No matter how strong they were, they couldn’t possibly block the charge of such a behemoth.
The Alliance Soldiers scrambled to dodge the fortress while returning fire, but their Ranged Attacks were useless, merely clanging against its walls.
’Think about it: what good is shooting a Bow and Arrow at a castle wall? How long would it take to shoot it down?’
The Magic Professionals, on the other hand, could manage to inflict some minor damage on the fortress, but Li Ziyu paid them no mind. He was here for the decisive battle, to settle things once and for all this very night. He’d brought his entire fortress with him, so ’why the hell would I be scared? Let’s do this!’
His only regret was that, aside from the Fierce Horn, the Undead Fortress had almost no other offensive weapons. ’If this thing had some real firepower, it’d be incredible.’ For now, he could only use the Undead Fortress as a gigantic troop transport.
As a troop transport, the Undead Fortress was perfectly suited for the job. As it rolled forward, a constant stream of Skeleton Undead dropped from its walls directly into the Alliance Camp, ready to fight the moment they landed.
Meanwhile, the Skeleton Longbowmen on the fortress began to nock their arrows and fire, raining death down upon the Alliance Soldiers from above.
It was utter chaos. The Alliance Soldiers had no idea how to deal with this behemoth. And it wasn’t just the fortress—there were the Undead, too. Their numbers were simply overwhelming!
A white waterfall of countless Undead poured endlessly from the fortress’s sides, crashing to the ground like a torrent against stone before surging outward in all directions.
Although the individual Skeleton Undead were weak, their sheer numbers were enough to make one’s scalp crawl!
Before, the Alliance Army hadn’t feared the Skeleton Undead. That was because the sun was high in the sky, weakening the Undead and making them seem less terrifying. Besides, they had their formations and were the ones on the offensive. But now was different. The enemy had brought a city to their doorstep before they were even ready, and endless Undead were swarming them.
’As for formations? Hah, what a joke. What formation could possibly stop a city from rolling over it? You’d finish setting up your lines just in time for them to be flattened. You’d be better off not forming up at all!’
Li Ziyu no longer had any Low Level or Intermediate Skeleton Warriors on hand to manage the Skeleton Undead. He had simply given them a single command—kill every enemy below—and left them to it. As for how many Skeleton Undead he had actually created that afternoon, even he didn’t know for sure. He just knew the number was definitely over two million.
