Chapter 421: Chapter 24: Slime Breeder

When Keze saw the swarm of Slimes fly directly into his territory, he didn’t order an attack, but instead led his men to follow them.

He wanted to see what these Slimes were really up to. Since they hadn’t attacked his men directly, they definitely had some other goal in mind.

However, crawling Slimes were as slow as snails, while flying Slimes were as fast as lightning.

When Keze saw the Slime Monsters leap over the city walls, he gave chase with his men, but he still couldn’t catch up. He could only watch as the Slime Monsters disappeared into the city center.

"My lord, you were right! We don’t attack the Slime Monsters, and they really aren’t attacking us!"

On the way, his Personal Guard continued to shower him with flattery.

Just then, a series of urgent system warnings blared in Keze’s ears.

[Your territory is under attack by an enemy force. Please provide support immediately!]

...

Keze was startled by this string of high-frequency system warnings.

"Damn it! Everyone, to the Lord’s Mansion!!!"

"Someone’s attacking the Lord’s Mansion!!!"

"Those Slime Monsters really are here to attack the city!"

This kind of system alert only appeared when the Lord’s Mansion was under attack or the Lord Core was being captured by enemies.

Therefore, Keze immediately realized that the Slime Monsters had gone to attack the Lord’s Mansion.

To defend against a potential monster siege by the Slime Monsters, Keze had moved all the guards from inside the city to the walls. This left the City Lord’s Mansion undefended, and he had no idea what the situation there was now.

He could only deduce from the system alerts that the Slime Monsters were attacking his Lord’s Mansion.

He didn’t suspect that the Slime Monsters were already inside the Lord’s Mansion, because the City Lord’s Mansion was protected by a shield with a defense value of one million. Without permission, entry could only be gained through a brute-force attack.

’Even if those Slime Monsters are strong, it should take them some effort to break the shield, right...?’ Keze thought.

’As long as we’re fast enough, we can stop those Slime Monsters from getting into the Lord’s Mansion.’

Hearing Keze’s command, the army and heroes beside him understood the urgency. Leaving a few guards behind, the rest rushed toward the Lord’s Mansion at top speed...

When a panting Keze arrived at the Lord’s Mansion, he found no enemies attacking it.

"Where are the enemies? Where are the Slime Monsters?"

’The system alerts haven’t stopped, so why can’t I see any enemies?’

Before his men could answer, Keze discovered the reason himself.

The main gate of the Lord’s Mansion was wide open. Looking through the broken gate, he saw that the inside of the Lord’s Mansion was packed full of Slime Monsters.

The Lord’s Mansion’s million-point shield had been broken by the Slime Monsters!!

Keze’s face paled in horror. "Holy shit! What are you all doing just standing around out here? Get in there and drive those Slimes out!!"

"Dammit, which lord tamed these Slime Monsters? How dare they send them to attack my territory!!!"

"It made me drop my guard!"

"And they’re stealing my business idea!"

At this point, Keze still hadn’t let go of his idea of getting into the pet business. He was still convinced he wouldn’t be defeated; at worst, he’d just suffer some heavy casualties.

Getting defeated by a swarm of jiggly monsters was something that wouldn’t even happen in his dreams. How could it possibly happen in real life?

"My lord, we can’t get in!"

In front of the gate, a group of the territory’s heroes responded to Keze’s command. Even as they spoke, their hands never stopped, continuing to launch attacks at the gate.

However, all of their attacks were blocked by a transparent shield.

’The shield is still up?’

’No, wait, you all have permission to enter...’

’So, this shield was put up by those Slime Monsters?’

Unwilling to accept it, Keze went up and tried for himself. Sure enough, he couldn’t get in either. This meant the barrier now blocking everyone’s path had indeed been created by the Slime Monsters.

The Lord’s Mansion was huge, and at this moment, it was entirely encased within this shield.

Keze’s men were currently surrounding the shield and attacking it relentlessly, but only a few of them were actually able to hit it.

This was because none of the soldiers present had ranged attacks, and only a few of the randomly summoned heroes possessed ranged capabilities.

Normally, this wasn’t an issue, but now that they needed to focus their fire, the disadvantage became obvious.

Due to the lack of ranged units, they couldn’t focus their fire, and their melee attacks were completely unable to leverage their advantage in numbers.

Watching this scene, Keze deeply regretted how small his City Lord’s Mansion was. If he had known this would happen, he would have built it much larger.

The shield covering the entire Lord’s Mansion didn’t budge an inch under the assault. Seeing no hope of getting inside the Lord’s Mansion to drive out the Slime Monsters, and with the system alerts growing ever more frantic, Keze prepared to lead his men out of the territory and look for a chance to settle the score.

Just then, cracks appeared on the shield.

"The shield is cracking!!"

"Quick, intensify the attack!"

The soldiers and heroes surrounding the Lord’s Mansion also noticed the change in the shield. Because of the cracks, the previously invisible barrier had become clearly visible. As if they had seen a glimmer of hope for victory, they all quickened their attacks.

The Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slimes watched the Titan Clan People outside renew their attack with invigorated determination and were very pleased with their own handiwork.

They had used a bit of extra Telekinesis to add some "cracked" decorations to their Telekinesis Barrier, giving the Titan Race outside a little hope so they wouldn’t run away.

After all, there was a big difference between simply occupying a territory and occupying a territory *and* capturing its lord.
