Chapter 575. Slaying a Celestial Seat Immortal, Earth's Crisis

Lu Yuan would not call himself invincible, but at the very least, no living being in this universe could pose a threat to him.

Of course, reaching the Supreme Immortal Realm would be even better.

"Is it over?" Jiang Ningxian asked as she approached.

The immense power lingering in the area told her that Lu Yuan's strength had nearly surpassed the limits of her imagination. However, she could not be certain whether the Celestial Seat Immortal was truly dead. An existence at that level commanded Celestial Seat laws. Even a Supreme Immortal would have to take such an opponent seriously in order to kill him.

Lu Yuan nodded. "His flesh and soul were completely annihilated. Not even a Celestial Seat Immortal could survive that."

After all, he had slain a Celestial Seat Immortal before and knew exactly what it took.

"What should we do next?" Jiang Ningxian asked.

All four Teleportation Dao Platforms had been destroyed, leaving them without a shortcut to Earth. It was also now certain that the Eternals and the Ji Clan had set their sights on the Milky Way Starfield, placing the living beings there in grave danger.

"No matter what, we have to return." Lu Yuan considered the situation briefly before continuing, "We can only travel as quickly as possible. The Milky Way Starfield and Earth are no longer as weak as they once were. They now have a foundation of their own and the strength to defend themselves.

"I hope they can hold out a little longer. I believe they won't disappoint us."

Lu Yuan knew that the Celestial Court and the handful of Jiang Clan members stationed there could not stop the two forces on their own. Even so, it would be difficult for the enemy to deal a devastating blow to Earth, even with Celestial Seat Immortals among them.

When the sages of antiquity used the Separation of Heaven and Earth to isolate the planet, they must have left other contingencies behind. That did not mean Earth was completely secure, however. Given enough time, the two forces were indeed capable of destroying it.

They still had to hurry.

Since the Teleportation Dao Platforms were gone, Lu Yuan decided they would make the journey without a teleportation shortcut. Fortunately, they were no longer far from the Milky Way Starfield and should still be able to make it in time.

Jiang Ningxian nodded without another word. There was no other choice.

Lu Yuan stepped forward and tore open the void. A moment later, the two entered the passage.

Meanwhile, in the Milky Way Starfield, the appearance of the Eternal Warship had placed the Celestial Court on high alert. It quickly deployed more of its forces to stabilize the situation.

The other Outer Cosmos beings were also growing uneasy. The two forces had previously tried to compel several starfields into submission through overwhelming force, but some had refused and offended them in the process. In their eyes, this could not be helped. Who would willingly submit under threat?

Lu Yuan had ultimately stepped in and ruined the two forces' plan. Many of those beings had supported him and the Jiang Clan at the time. When the Eternals and the Ji Clan finally withdrew, they believed they had won a decisive victory and no longer had anything to fear.

Who could have expected the two forces to return?

As time passed, the Eternal Warship began descending toward Earth. The planet had expanded to nearly a hundred times its former size. Otherwise, a warship of such proportions might have crushed it outright.

Powerful auras descended one after another, and almost everyone felt a profound sense of danger drawing near.

The Celestial Court reacted at once, consolidating its forces around the five supercities and relinquishing every other location, including the famous mountains and great rivers. Its foundation was not yet deep enough to spread its forces thin. Only by gathering its strength could it accomplish more.

Time passed. Eventually, members of the two forces emerged from the Eternal Warship. Among them were Grotto-Heaven Immortals, Creation Immortals, and even two Celestial Seat Immortals.

Yet they did not attack. Instead, they issued a message. Anyone willing to submit to the two forces was to board the Eternal Warship. Once the appointed time arrived, they would accept no further submissions and would begin their conquest of Earth.

After delivering the message, the experts returned to the warship and did not show themselves again.

Their meaning was clear. They would not launch a large-scale attack yet. They were offering the beings from the various starfields on Earth a chance to choose. Those who seized it would be spared. Those who refused would face their wrath.

The Celestial Court, however, would not be given the opportunity to submit. It was the enemy's primary target.

Panic immediately spread. Many began to view Earth as a place fraught with danger and wanted to leave, believing they would be safe once they escaped.

They no longer cared about the so-called Great Age's Providence. After all this time, no news of it had surfaced. Since they wished neither to submit nor to confront the two forces, departure seemed the better choice. At least they could preserve their lives.

However, someone soon discovered that the starfield surrounding Earth had been sealed. One could enter, but no one could leave. Everyone was now forced to choose.

After weighing their options, some decided that submission to the two great forces was preferable. Rumor held that the Ji Clan and the Eternals had allied with the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons, powerful lifeforms from outside this universe. Submitting to them might amount to betrayal, but some valued their own survival above all else.

Before long, people began making their way toward the Eternal Warship.

The Celestial Court's core members, led by Zhu Qingyu, understood that they had no path of retreat. Their only choice was to concentrate their forces and resist.

Jiang Huanyun also recognized the severity of the situation and immediately contacted his clansmen. If matters continued this way, the consequences would be impossible to predict once the two great forces finally attacked.

Still, both the Outer Cosmos beings and the Celestial Court shared the same question. The Eternal Warship and the experts of the two forces had already descended. If they intended to attack, why not strike now, when the opportunity was best?

Why were they waiting?

Did they have some other plan, or were they currently unable to launch a large-scale assault?

No one knew. However, for the Celestial Court, the delay was welcome. At the very least, it bought them time.
