Chapter 792: Chapter 536: Hydra’s Trap and the Peak of the World

"Go!"

He let out a low cry and was the first to dive in.

Mage Wendel followed close behind.

Below, the Molten Giant Dragon had gone berserk. It let out an earth-shattering roar and lunged upward.

Mage Delin faced the giant net and flicked his finger.

"Explode!"

BOOM!

All the Star Chains wrapped around the Giant Dragon detonated at the same time!

The terrifying explosion once again engulfed the Molten Giant Dragon.

Using the explosion as cover, Mage Delin flickered and vanished with Raylo into the silver spatial vortex.

...

After a familiar feeling of weightlessness passed, the moment Raylo felt solid ground beneath his feet again, he saw that his surroundings were completely different.

The acrid smell of sulfur and the terrifying heatwave were gone.

In their place was fresh, humid air carrying the fragrance of soil and plants.

They had teleported above a vast, boundless primeval forest.

Below them was a sea of dark green forest, stretching to the horizon.

Above, the massive moon still hung high in the sky, casting down its cold, clear light.

All was quiet, save for the rustling of the night wind through the treetops.

It was as if the thrilling battle just moments ago had been nothing but an illusion.

"Damn beast."

Mage Wendel was still cursing under his breath, clearly unable to let go of what had just happened.

"We were tricked."

But Mage Delin’s words made everyone’s heart sink.

Raylo looked at him.

Mage Delin opened his palm, where the Demon Serpent’s Eye lay quietly.

At this moment, however, the dim light on the eyeball had faded significantly, and the Spiritual Link to the Hydra had grown so faint it was nearly imperceptible.

"This was no coincidence."

Mage Delin’s expression was grim.

"The Hydra lured us there on purpose."

"That Molten Giant Dragon’s lair was a trap it prepared for us."

A thought sparked in Raylo’s mind.

He immediately understood the crux of the matter.

’After escaping to this world, the Hydra must have suffered a wounded soul, leaving its Power greatly diminished.’

’It knew very well that its physical body had become a trophy for the human Legends and that it would be tracked down sooner or later.’

’So, it used some method to hide the remnant of its soul aura—the part most easily tracked—in the Molten Giant Dragon’s lair.’

’That place had violent energy and chaotic auras, and the powerful presence of the Catastrophe Level Molten Giant Dragon served as the perfect cover.’

’What a cunning beast!’

’Even after failing to ascend to the World Destruction Level and losing most of its Power, it could still set such a trap to evade pursuit.’

"It sacrificed a part of its own soul as bait."

Mage Delin said slowly, confirming Raylo’s suspicions.

"Now, this last connection we had to it is basically severed."

"This Demon Serpent’s Eye can no longer track it."

This conclusion made the atmosphere heavy.

They had come in full force, thinking they could strike directly at the heart of the enemy.

Unexpectedly, before they even saw their true target, they had been thoroughly outplayed.

"So what do we do now?"

Mage Wendel asked with a frown.

"This world is so vast. Trying to find someone who is deliberately hiding is like looking for a needle in a haystack."

Mage Morpheus nodded in agreement.

"My Space Magic can perform large-scale scans, but the process would be very slow and consume a tremendous amount of energy. If it’s hiding in some special energy field, it could easily be missed."

The Legendary Mages all fell silent.

Though powerful, they were not omnipotent.

Just then, Raylo’s voice broke the silence.

"Perhaps we can try a different approach."

The three Legendary Mages’ gazes all converged on him.

"Oh? Young Raylo, what’s your idea?"

Mage Delin asked.

Raylo met their gazes, pondered for a moment, and organized his thoughts.

’Of course, I can’t just say I have a system and already know the Hydra’s location.’

"I was thinking, for a powerful Magical Beast of the Hydra’s level, especially when it’s severely injured and in desperate need of recovery, what kind of place would it choose to hide?"

Raylo didn’t give a direct answer, but instead posed a question.

"It needs immense energy to heal its injuries and restore its Power."

"Therefore, the location it chooses must be the place in this world with the most concentrated and extreme Elemental Energy."

Mage Wendel’s eyes lit up.

"You mean..."

"For example..."

Raylo pointed a finger toward the sky.

"This world’s highest peak."

"Or..." 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

Raylo paused, then added.

"...the deepest ocean trench."

Upon hearing this, a sharp glint flashed in Mage Delin’s clouded eyes.

He gave Raylo an appreciative look.

"That’s right!"

"Extreme environments often contain the purest and most immense Power!"

"Whether it’s the roof of the world or the depths of the abyss, these places are deathtraps for ordinary creatures. But for a being of the Hydra’s level, they are the perfect places to hide and recover!"

A new line of thought opened up for Mage Delin.

"Instead of searching around blindly like a headless fly, we should lock onto these two locations!"

Mage Morpheus expressed his agreement.

"Then that’s what we’ll do!"

Mage Wendel slapped his thigh, his fiery temper flaring up again.

"We’ll go to the world’s peak first! If we don’t find it, we’ll head to the deepest trench!"

"I’d like to see where that stinking snake can hide then!"

The three Legendary Mages quickly reached an agreement.
