Genius’s Godlike Game Broadcast
Chapter 246 : Perfect Revenge (1)
Perfect Revenge (1)
Royal Desperate Revenge, day 5.
"Trha! I'm here!"
When Lee Gyeongbok entered with a bright smile, the waiting viewers greeted him warmly.
- Welcome, hyung!
- Purple refill ON!
- They say one day feels like three years, and that day is so long?
- What's 'purple feels like three years' lol!
- I'd rather see Godple once than see Chu guy three times?
- No lol, that's not the Chu we're talking about!
- But, to be fair, it is correct, right?
Lee Gyeongbok laughed and spent some time communicating with viewers before starting the game.
['I did it' has donated '10,000' won.]
[Hyung! You became world number one!?]
A donation came in during their casual chat.
- Lol, I saw that lol
- And not just first place, but in the Master ranking, first place lol
- If Godple isn't first place, then who is?
- Godple's records are always written at the top, that's the *Perfect*-rule, right?
- For real lol, whenever he does it, it's first place~
Even though it didn't say exactly what was world first, all the viewers knew.
['1 is getting bigger' has donated '111,111' won.]
[It's such a shame it's not official! This is the biggest '1' I can give!]
['Gotta give first place prize' has donated '111,111' won.]
[Didn't you participate in the tournament? Even so, it doesn't mean there's no prize, right?]
['Can't take not being #1!' has donated '111,111' won.]
[Heh! Put it away, put it away!]
Once the dam broke, donations began piling up.
"Ah, thank you for the donations! Like I said before, I really have no interest in speedrunning."
Lee Gyeongbok expressed his gratitude and gave an embarrassed smile.
"But you know, it just sort of happened this way."
His honest reaction made the viewers enjoy it even more.
― Lol, the Purple confidence supplies are quick today
-???: If you just keep at it you become number one
-???: Rival? Not interested
-???: You don't try to be number one, it just comes naturally.
― Look at the troopers steering the conversation, lol
Playful chat poured in as if they'd been waiting for this. Lee Gyeongbok shrugged as he read the chat.
"Well, it's not totally wrong. If it's natural, it's natural, right? It's not like I'm purposely playing slow. And I don't feel like I need to put extra effort into maintaining number one, either."
He agreed playfully, knowing that trying to deny it would only get him teased more.
― Wow, so much confidence?
-???: Can be first place without even trying harder
― Lol, just maintaining status quo!
― Imagine being someone who gets world first just by doing their thing!
― Natural number one, godple level, lol
― It's frustrating but true! But still frustrating!
― Lol, why get frustrated when it's true?
After gauging the reactions, Lee Gyeongbok clapped lightly with a grin.
'If I go too far, I might get in the way of other tournament participants.'
If he took the joke too far, chat could end up belittling speedrun competitors.
With that in mind, Lee Gyeongbok decided to start the game.
"Alright, let's get started. Gotta go save my son!"
― Lol, claim your innocence!
― You'll find your son as soon as you catch those Hired Gun bastards
-???: Ah don't know who you are
-???: I will find you! And I will kill you!
― Puram Plsun lolololol
― What's Purikan lolol
As the game began, the viewers' attention quickly shifted.
The screen changed, and a phrase appeared against a black background.
[Chapter 5 – Revenge]
It was only a single line, but for both Lee Gyeongbok and the viewers, it hit differently.
"Oh? Revenge, huh?"
― WA! Revenge!
― Lol, straight up title spoiler!
― There's the refreshing moment we needed this chapter!
― If it's this openly about revenge, the ending's close, huh lol
― Those outlaw bastards are about to get destroyed lol
As the text faded, the screen transitioned.
"It's Saint Cloud Plaza."
Alex and Light sat on a bench with serious expressions.
"Eliminate the Hired Gun. That's the only way to save Billy."
Alex spoke first, running a hand over his face and sighing deeply.
"But we can't expect help. Not just the Sheriff, but even detectives—Harold doesn't want lawmen of any kind getting involved."
"But I'm not like them."
Light's words turned his gaze.
"Because I don't belong anywhere."
"... Yeah. That's why I'm asking you."
Alex clenched his fist tightly and lowered his head.
"I know it's a difficult thing to ask. But no matter how shameless or pitiful I might be, I'm still Billy's father. I'll do whatever it takes for my son."
Lee Gyeongbok and the viewers grasped the situation from that statement.
"It's apparently a solo mission originally, but I guess with Light as a companion, she's coming along."
― Yeah, seems like it
― Actually, for Godplex, solo's fine too
― That's true lol
― But Light's pretty good at fighting too
Light looked at Alex for a moment, then placed her hand on his shoulder. As she moved her hand, his drooping head lifted naturally.
"Alex, you're an honorable person. No need to lower your head."
Light smiled as she looked at him.
"And I want to keep my honor, too. I already promised to help your revenge, so I will of course help you."
"... I sincerely thank you."
Hearing her promise of cooperation, a smile appeared on Alex's lips.
― Wow, light really lives up to her nickname
― Light: Loyalty!
― Lol, that summary though lolol
― Light star lolol
― Now that I see the dialogue, does it change depending on personality?
― Oh, mentioning honor—must be different if recruited with different alignments?
― True lol, even in the prologue, nPC reactions shifted with alignment!
― Where would outlaws ever see the light, lol
Viewers also welcomed her joining the quest. However, the mood in the cutscene remained heavy.
"But where do we even find the Hired Gun gang? Do we have a lead?"
"I heard from Billy."
Alex answered Light's worried question.
"Southwest, there's a town called 'Nowhere' along the border of the wasteland and desert."
"Nowhere? Kinda weird name for a town. Does a place like that even exist?"
"It was new to me, too. I checked the map in the Agency, but there was no such town."
Alex's reply put question marks not just on Light's face, but on the chat as well.
"That's why I'm convinced. Nowhere is a place made by outlaws."
Far from clearing up questions, his explanation only added more.
― Eh?
― A town for outlaws?
― Wait;;; how does an outlaw town even work?
― What the heck is this? What the heck is this!
Fortunately, alex's explanation wasn't finished yet.
"A town of outlaws?"
"Yeah. Billy said it's where he and that boss traveled across the continent before settling in. I hear smugglers and fences trade there, and it's grown as outlaws move in and out."
"So, it's a place to unload stolen goods."
"Exactly. Not sure if the boss will be there. But this is the only clue related to him."
"If there are no other options, then there's nothing to consider. Let's head out as soon as prep is done."
"Let's do that. Since it's an outlaw town, proper supplies will be tough."
As Alex and Light nodded at each other, the cutscene ended.
Lee Gyeongbok finally spoke up.
"The way they're telling me to prepare directly, it feels like it's building up to a final boss fight."
― Lol, it's a national rule to heal and gear up before the final boss
― With that chapter title, it feels like it's ending soon
― Once we go to Nowhere, we probably go all the way to the end, huh?
― But is there much to prep?
― Prep materials: Purple
― It's over once Godple jumps in lol
Nodding in agreement with the viewers, Lee Gyeongbok chuckled.
"I'll stop by the gun shop first."
He visited the shop and checked his ammo supply. Then he asked the owner to modify the High Noon Repeater.
As the specs of the gun appeared, viewers voiced their questions.
― Wow, look at those specs!
― Definitely top-tier lol
― But is there anything that needs modding?
― Doesn't seem like there's any real reason to mess with it
They weren't wrong.
Lee Gyeongbok had no intention of changing the gun's specs.
"Please remove all these engravings."
"Excuse me? The engravings?"
The gun shop owner's eyes widened.
"But once you remove them, you can't restore them."
"That's fine."
As soon as he said that, chat flooded in.
― Hyung? Is this right?!
― No way;; You need the engravings so the Federal Marshals recognize you!
― Removing the High Noon trait, why?
― What does this imply?
― There must be a reason for this!
Seeing the startled reactions, Lee Gyeongbok gave a wry grin.
"You noticed exactly. That's the reason."
As more question marks appeared, Lee Gyeongbok continued explaining.
"Someone in that outlaw town might recognize a High Noon Repeater. Sure, it could look like one stolen from a dead Federal Marshal, but if I were an outlaw, I'd get suspicious."
― Oh lol, makes sense
― Roc&Roll AI makes that very likely
― For a town of outlaws, they can't trust anyone, huh lol
― Feels like there might've been a detection route lol
― Lol, everything Godple does has a reason!
The viewers quickly accepted his explanation.
Once the modification was finished, the shopkeeper returned the Repeater.
After finishing maintenance on his other guns, Lee Gyeongbok spoke to Light.
"All set."
"It's time for revenge."
The two mounted their horses.
Towards the outlaw town, nowhere.
* * *
Being close to the point marked on the minimap, a cutscene began.
The screen, spread in a bird's-eye view, showed barren land, tumbling tumbleweeds, and the distant desert.
― Lol, that's the Western scenery we know
― Other places were actually a little too bountiful lol
― Roc&Roll really makes their scenery incredible!
― Yeah, you could die here and no one would know
― Perfect hideout for outlaws lol
While the viewers admired the scene, alex and Light entered the canyon.
"Kind of has a Grand Canyon vibe, right?"
As Lee Gyeongbok said this, affirmative comments poured in.
'Hmm?'
As the two in the cutscene went deeper, a cold threat set off his nerves. But there was nothing to do—still a cutscene.
Suddenly, with a gunshot, dirt flew up in front of them.
― What the hell?!
― Crap, that scared me
― Gunfight already!?
― Where's that from? Is it a sniper?
― Lol, I actually screamed
As viewers tried to calm themselves, the duo soothed their startled horses.
"Never seen these guys before. What crew are they with?!"
Soon, a voice called down from above. Outlaws armed with rifles aimed down at the pair.
― Guards, maybe?
― Lol, why not ask questions before shooting
― Ultra-outlaw behavior, huh?
― Just showing off lol
― I can't take this! Fire!
― This guy's back again lol
― Shanghai Trooper, welcome back
― If you get too famous, you get banned^^
Light looked anxiously at Alex.
Alex glared at them for a moment, then spoke up.
"The rules of outlaws aren't written in a book, they're written in bullets."
The sudden line made both Lee Gyeongbok and the viewers puzzled.
"Too bad. You know the proper code."
"No kidding. Was hoping for some action."
"Come on in!"
The snipers standing watch burst out laughing and returned to their posts.
― So they actually had a code set up
― Oh lol, asking what crew you belong to was a fake-out?
― Guess those outlaw bastards aren't total idiots lol
― That's the code Billy passed on lol
― What a good son
Alex and Light stayed on their guard even after the guards disappeared.
Going further along the canyon, they saw surprisingly proper buildings.
"Everyone's giving us the 'I'll eat you alive' stare."
"They've all had blood on their hands, I'm sure."
But unlike the solid buildings, the air was sharp. Men and women alike glared openly at them.
"They're all outlaws."
Lee Gyeongbok commented, feeling little pricks of tension. The viewers agreed.
"If we get caught, the whole town'll turn on us. Better be careful."
"It's wise to be cautious."
"So, where do we start investigating?"
"Gotta figure it out from here."
With their conversation, the cutscene ended.
― Eh?
― Wait;;; they just throw us in like this?
― What, you're supposed to go gathering info yourself?
― And if you get caught, you fight the whole town?
― What's with the difficulty lol
― At Master ranking, I bet there's a ton of outlaws
― But for Godple, that's even better, right?
-5252, here comes the killer smile!
The viewers were flabbergasted, but Lee Gyeongbok was laughing.
But for a different reason than the viewers expected.
'Anywhere's fine, really.'
While the viewers were at a loss, Lee Gyeongbok could discern the aura from each building by using his divine energy. So he could instantly tell where to go.
"There's even a saloon in Nowhere. Let's check out the most crowded place first."
― In games, the bar is the best place for info, it's the national rule lol
― Maybe someone drunk will spill the info?
― Or maybe you buy drinks to get info!
― Wow, feels like you're going straight to HQ, isn't it?
― I'd probably start at a smaller place, not to get caught lol
-5252, that's perfect-investigation for you!
The two tied their horses and entered the saloon. As the creaking door opened, every eye in the saloon turned to them.
'Don't even need to ask around.'
Amid the wary stares, a clear hostility was aimed their way. The outlaw full of resentment immediately stood up and scowled.
"What the fuck! Are those idiots on watch right in the head?! How did a dirty Indian get in here?!"
With that single line, both Lee Gyeongbok and the viewers realized immediately.
― Oh? Racism?
― You're a Southern sympathizer, huh?
― Lol, can't help but make it obvious!
― It's not that there were no hints; turns out they didn't need to give any!
― Light was the bait for these guys lol
― There's always a shadow where there's light, man
The outlaw who snapped—
"There's our clue."
—was clearly a Hired Gun gang member.
