Game Maker: Starting by Healing the Players

Chapter 793 - 793: Energetic Argonian Maid

  • Next Chapter

Arriving in Whiterun, Ben didn't rush to Dragonsreach to find the Jarl. Instead, he wandered around the city for a bit.

Compared to Riverwood, Whiterun naturally had many more NPCs.

Talking to the NPCs along the way, Ben discovered that their dialogue was all completely different.

He hadn't felt much in Riverwood before.

But in Whiterun, Ben had only one feeling.

It was life.

In terms of scale, Whiterun wasn't really that big.

It was about half the size of Saint Denis in Red Dead Redemption.

But the whole city gave Ben a very lively feeling.

Khajiit and Argonians trading back and forth, all the houses in the city were freely accessible.

Every NPC could be spoken to and would give the player some information.

These conversations weren't repetitive.

Also, for the accessible houses, Ben found that their furnishings were different.

"It feels like the first time I played Red Dead Redemption and Breath of the Wild again!"

Ben had no intention of going to Dragonsreach to find the Jarl. Instead, he was wandering through the houses in Whiterun.

The only thing Ben was unhappy about was that The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim lacked the fun of a typical RPG.

What is the most common fun in an RPG?

It's playing the protagonist as a rogue and ransacking every chest and cabinet for loot, of course.

But in The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, Ben found that even though many items could be acquired, they were marked as "stolen."

And if you were seen, your crime level would increase, and guards would hunt you down.

However, putting those aside, the game's content made Ben feel the sense of exploration he had when playing Zelda.

Especially when picking locks with lockpicks, every successful unlock was filled with anticipation.

"The owner of this house really likes to study, huh? A bard? Why so many books? Couldn't they hide an artifact or a divine item at home?"

Even though stealing and being seen by NPCs increases bounties and crime, what if they don't see you?

Sneaking around after the nearby NPCs had all left, Ben picked the lock of a small house and started rummaging through it.

However, to Ben's slight dismay, the house was full of books. There wasn't even a single gold coin, let alone anything good.

"But to be fair, I wonder how many books there are in the game. The variety is so rich."

Ben marveled at the books he'd collected in his inventory.

In this kind of fantasy game, the background is basically presented to the player through snippets of NPC dialogue and in-game books.

For example, Nebula Games' Red Dead Redemption and The Witcher: Wild Hunt.

In addition to the main story, much of the content and world-building needs to be discovered by players through the game's books.

Otherwise, relying solely on the main plot makes understanding the entire game's background difficult.

For instance, the newspapers in Red Dead Redemption, and the books introducing the background and the world's affairs in The Witcher: Wild Hunt.

Clearly, The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim also has numerous books to introduce the game's background to players.

While sighing, Ben also looked at the books in his inventory.

Ben himself wasn't very interested in these.

After all, there were too many, and it was difficult to read them all. But sometimes he would flip through them to see what they were about.

However, this time was different. Among the books he had just obtained, Ben found a book with a strange title.

"Energetic Argonian Maid? What kind of book is this? The title sounds so anime!"

Ben, drawn by the book's title, was quite curious.

Compared to other books, this one stood out like a firefly in the dark.

With great curiosity, Ben opened the book in the game and saw it written:

'Energetic Argonian Maid, Volume Two'

By Krasiuskrio

Act VII, Scene II.

Wiggly Tail: Oh my goodness, what a huge baguette! But how do I get it into the oven?

Clantius Corto: This baguette isn't ready for baking yet, my sweet! It hasn't risen.

Wiggly Tail: But how do I make it rise?

Clantius Corto: Oh, my little silly maid, you have to do it with your hands, of course!

Wiggly Tail: You want me to make this dough rise now? Right here?

Clantius Corto: Of course.

Wiggly Tail: But what if the mistress sees? This bread is for her breakfast!

Clantius Corto: Don't worry, the mistress will have other food later.

Wiggly Tail: That's good then! But I'm afraid the oven won't be hot enough. It'll take hours!

Clantius Corto: There's plenty of time, my darling! Plenty of time.

End of Act VII, Scene II.

Looking at this book in his inventory, Ben went from confusion to bewilderment.

This was an erotic novel!

"Energetic Argonian Maid," for crying out loud. Is this book proper?!

It wasn't just Ben who was speechless.

Some players who were also exploring The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim and had found this peculiar book were completely dumbfounded.

In the game, there were a total of ten such books scattered in different locations.

Their content was extremely, extremely lewd.

And as we all know, content that resonates with players and sparks widespread discussion.

Such lewd things are never absent.

After the first player posted the content of this book on a forum, the discussion point quickly shifted from the fat chicken in Riverwood to the Argonian maid.

'I'm dumbfounded. My innocent self didn't realize what it was at first!'

'Come on, man, don't pretend to be innocent. You understood it, so what's innocent about it!'

'Hahaha, I wonder how many of these books are in the game.'

'Indeed, the ancients never lied to us. In books, there are houses of gold and beauties of jade. I won't say anymore. What Dragonborn? I'm going to read all of Skyrim's books.'

'Speaking of which, will The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim turn into a sex simulator like The Witcher: Wild Hunt?'

'Probably not. I feel like this game is still quite decent.'

'Honestly, if you just read the text, the atmosphere is quite suggestive, but haven't you guys seen what Argonians look like? I can only say that if this is acceptable, then you are truly brave!'

'+1, Argonians are too terrifying! I don't think I can get aroused!'
