While everyone was eating their food, Kiara got a call on her phone from the Were-witch who had officially arrived outside. She stood up from her seat and went right outside the gym doors to go collect her.

Meanwhile, over by the equipment rack, Beam got a quiet call from her girlfriend, Tisha, who happened to be at the store happily preparing for their upcoming vacation together. Beam informed her gently that they would have to wait a week for that because she was currently busy looking after things here. Tisha happily agreed without any argument, and the short call ended.

Faye also got a sweet video call from her loving girlfriend, who told her that she and all four pups had arrived completely safe at the vacation house where she and her brothers were going to stay for the next week.

The two girls started a full video call right on their screens, and Faye got to see her cute pups happily playing with their uncles. It was honestly a huge surprise for Faye to see the friendly, soft side of Princess’s crazy brothers for once.

But that wasn’t even the only shocking thing happening in the background of the screen.

Kaye happened to be standing right there in the living room with Dina and the little pups.

Faye had been under the strong impression that Adam might have already known that Kaye was actually his son, but before Faye could accidentally blab about her brother’s huge secret on the call, Princess quickly explained that Dina would only agree to come along with her father if he brought her best friend along too.

Leo had very reluctantly agreed to the demand just to keep her happy.

Ironically, every single one of the Kings offspring were now living under the exact same roof for seven days.

After the video call ended, the Were-witch came walking inside through the gym doors right behind Kiara.

Her name was Elizabeth, and the very first thing she said after looking around was that performing such a ritual inside a gym was strictly not recommended. So everyone gathered their things and headed out straight into the woods nearby, including Malo, who was desperately trying to prove to everyone that he could also protect his best friend.

He was definitely not happy at all when he learned earlier that Princess had put Beam in charge of that whole security detail instead of him.

While Malo was busy resting his weary back against a tree trunk, Bambi and Beam stood just a few feet away from the glowing magic circle the witch had drawn on the ground for the ritual.

Faye and Kiara stepped together into the glowing circle and sat down cross-legged, directly facing each other while the artifacts were burned down to fine ashes. The witch used those ashes to add to the line of the circle she had drawn, creating a solid protective barrier around them.

No one could enter the circle or leave it until the whole ritual was completely finished.

The ring Kiara brought along was totally useless because the witch couldn’t sense a single drop of real magic coming from it. This deeply confused Kiara because she had bought that ring directly from Guru, who had swore to her face that it contained the power of an entire coven.

The girl was already furiously thinking in her head that Guru had completely duped her out of her money.

Anyway, the witch waved her hand and said it wasn’t necessary at all. She didn’t actually need extra magical artifacts to perform this kind of magic because she already had more than enough raw magic living inside her own veins.

Faye and Kiara reached out and held each other’s hands tight across the dirt.

The witch began to chant long, heavy words under her breath.

Then suddenly, both girls’ eyes rolled back and turned completely white, and they fainted onto the ground together.

Now they were floating deep inside Kiara’s mind.

Several long hours passed out in the cold woods, and the two girls were still completely unconscious on the dirt.

It was full nighttime now, and everyone was still patiently waiting for them to wake up and open their eyes. The witch continued endlessly chanting words to keep the girls safe.

Malo was half-asleep, softly snoring against the rough tree bark. Bambi was busy leaning over showing Beam pictures of sports bikes she loved on her phone, happily talking about mechanics and engines.

Everything was going smoothly, exactly as planned.

Completely peaceful.

Until they were suddenly attacked out of nowhere. From somewhere deep in the dark distance between the trees, someone threw a sharp wooden steak at blinding speed, and it flew straight toward the witch, piercing right through her chest and killing her on the spot.

"Holy moly, the witch is dead..." Bambi said, her finger pointing at the falling body of the dead witch.

The two girls on guard immediately became fully alert, their grips tightening. Bambi used her boot to kick Malo’s leg and wake him up.

"What is it? What happened?" Malo slowly woke up, rubbing his eyes, but his vision immediately widened in total terror the second he saw the dead witch lying in a pool of blood.

He quickly stood up on shaking legs and scrambled to hide right behind the two girls.

"Ni, night walkers!" Malo trembled, pointing his finger into the dark woods.

Standing right in front of them out of the shadows was a large group of Night Walkers, led by a tall figure.

Beam easily recognized the leader in an instant. It was Jonathan from the underground tunnel.

She immediately regretted not killing every single one of them back when they had the chance.

"We do not wish to hurt anyone here tonight. All we need is the Fire Demon girl, and we will leave quietly..." Jonathan said, his red eyes glowing in the dark.

"Not on our watch," Beam said coldly, stepping into a ready stance.

"It’s 50 against just 3 of you. Do you really want to try us right now? Unlike you Werewolves, all we have to do is rip your delicate hearts out, and you are dead, for good. We are the undead, no matter how hard you try to fight us..." Jonathan said, grinning with sharp fangs.

"You want only the brunette girl, right? Just take her and keep my friend out of this. She is all yours..." Malo yelled out from behind the girls’ shoulders.

He honestly didn’t care about Kiara’s life at all. He would have run away as fast as his legs could carry him a long time ago, but his best friend sleeping inside that circle was the only reason he was still standing there.

"Beamer Frost, just let them take her away right now. Nobody even likes her around here anyway..."

"I do like her," Bambi said, her voice dropping all its playful energy as she stepped past Malo. "She is my girlfriend, and just as Faye is deeply important to me, she is important to me as well. Kiara is mine, and absolutely no one is taking her anywhere tonight..." Bambi stepped forward, ready to fight and defend the two sleeping girls with everything she had.

She pulled out her gun and pointed it straight at the leader.

"Child, I strongly advise you to step away right now if you don’t want to die here."

"I don’t care about dying tonight. The people inside that circle are the only real reason I am alive today, so..."

Before Bambi could even finish her heroic words, a female Night Walker holding a long silver sword moved with super speed and sliced Bambi right down the middle, splitting her open from the top of her head down in a single flash.

Malo’s mouth fell wide open in absolute horror, and Beam swallowed hard, her heart pounding as she tried to think of what to do next.

Princess wasn’t anywhere around to protect them, and the one single person who could actually kill these walkers was completely unconscious on the ground.

"If any of you try to step up and stop us now, you will end up looking like her..." Jonathan signaled with his hand for one of the tall Night Walkers to go in and carry Kiara away.

When one of them tried to step across into the glowing barrier, he was quickly caught in bright, roaring flames, turning to scattered ashes in a single second.
