Four Split Personalities
Chapter 2870 - 1360: Speaking_2
Why play turn-based games when you can just drop a plane on your opponent and bomb them into submission? Isn’t that much more satisfying?
In short, after forcing Double Leaf to reveal a big card in her combat arsenal, namely [Five-fold Body] + [Law Enforcers], and witnessing the seamless use of Space Magic just now, Motan had gathered all the conditions he needed.
The fact that Double Leaf excelled in Space Magic wasn’t the main point. After all, for a Mage of her level, mastering Space Magic was not surprising. The key was her ’thinking’ about her escape plan.
To put it simply, if Double Leaf had other more reliable backups, she wouldn’t have hidden her proficiency in Space Magic from the start. Since she had been using arcane and regular five-elemental magic as a lure and deception until she instinctively used Space Magic in a fit of emotion, it proved many things.
In just a moment, at least fifteen preplanned strategies that were not preset but ready had been abandoned. Then, five seconds later, accompanied by a barely perceptible buzzing sound, starting from the second exit of the comprehensive library where both parties were located, an area over one square kilometer in coverage effectively nullified any Epic Tier human body’s Space teleportation, sealing this area completely.
"Ah... I know what you’re doing... I also know you’re watching..."
The red-eyed girl wobbly stood up; her tear-streaked doll-like face appeared somewhat comical, covered in dust and tear marks. She blew her nose on her sleeve, dispelled the [Law Enforcers] in her hand, and a sinister grin crept up the corners of her mouth. Her slightly trembling voice was filled with madness and chill: "But it doesn’t matter, Tan Mo... it doesn’t matter... I don’t care... I don’t care at all... you’ll pay for this, I will make you pay..."
The next second—
’Wow~ I’m so scared!’
Undoubtedly, this was a message from [Tan Mo].
"Huh."
Closing the message box casually, Double Leaf staggered forward a step, her tearful eyes softening quickly as she watched those four figures, despite their stiff expressions, unfalteringly approaching her again. She murmured quietly: "I will let you sleep peacefully, my friends, I swear."
A gust of wind attacked from the left, a new skill mastered by Saracha after advancing to the Advanced Stage. As the most skilled member of Fenrir Team, he fully mastered the move [Fang Force] almost the day he advanced, developing a new usage of Inch Power, which was initially for close combat, and released a formless blade at least five meters away from Double Leaf.
"You know, Lizard, after leaving Fenrir, I traveled many places and saw many Goblin beauties. To be honest, I can’t really appreciate those big ears and petite figures that mesmerize you."
Double Leaf revealed a smile not much prettier than crying and used a mere glance to send several obedient Wind Elements to neutralize the blade, shrugged at Saracha, who had already closed in on her: "By the way, do you have a tradition of burning paper? I bought quite a lot of so-called ’Goblin beauty’ photobooks. I’ll send them to you later."
Poof!!
"Of course, I didn’t forget about you, big guy."
Double Leaf turned to make a face at Crab, who attempted a crashing strike but was restrained in a Water Element barrier, and chuckled: "I specifically bought you quite a few Ogres loli books with little fangs, and some clay models. They were intended as your burial items, but you got purified... or so I thought. Rest assured, when we bury you again, those things will accompany you."
In the next moment, Saracha, with a somewhat stunned expression, swung another powerful whip kick from behind, but it was fully neutralized by a gentle gust without Double Leaf even looking back. Moreover, these winds, seemingly belonging to no formal magic yet consistently present, effectively suppressed Saracha. Although they did not restrict his freedom, they would gently counteract his strength whenever the Lizardman Martial Monk attempted to charge at Double Leaf. Similarly, all long-range attacks, like astral blades, were intercepted the same way.
Crab was no different. The Water Element barrier clung to him like a cloak, significantly limiting the movements of this tall, robust Orc. Whenever he attempted to attack, it was like moving through a heavy resistance of water.
The wind restraining Saracha and the water confining Crab, these methods might appear simple but technically surpassed ninety-nine percent of High-level Magic, because they weren’t magic at all. Double Leaf used magic power to force control over the elements, manipulating them in real-time.
Because these methods weren’t magic, Double Leaf’s [Law Enforcers] offered no enhancement effect. Even mere seconds of restraint consumed as much magic power as casting over a dozen large-scale offensive High-level Magic spells.
But she had to do this...
Although equally a Spellcasters and taking the mysticism route, Double Leaf did not have a deep understanding of the Necromancer profession. Her grasp was shallow and one-sided, so she was uncertain about the exact status of her manipulated allies before her.
If she were to use strong magic to restrain them, whether they would attack her despite potentially damaging themselves under a controlling order, Double Leaf wasn’t sure.
Or rather, she was somewhat sure but considered herself unsure because she couldn’t bear these people getting hurt anymore.
Their battle had ended long ago.
So, Double Leaf only used the Water Element and Wind Element, the most gentle elements, to deal with Saracha and Crab, not aggressively stopping their attacks on her.
Then, Ned charged up—
"You’ve already done so much, Captain..."
Still trying to maintain a smile, Double Leaf lightly stomped her foot, and simultaneously, three Earth Element barriers shot up to block Ned’s back, left, and right sides. Before the final stone wall rose between Ned and her, she tried to smile brightly: "Rest assured, Captain, I’ve fulfilled your wish. The Marshall Family no longer exists, so no innocent people will suffer because of them again."
Rumble!!
The fourth stone wall rose, trapping the Fenrir Team’s captain in this ’cage.’
And then—
"Yina, big sister."
Blocking arrows with thin ice crystals one after another, Double Leaf finally approached the Elf Ranger, whose hair color and complexion had changed drastically from before, yet unmistakably recognized. She raised her small hand, eyes reddened, and said softly: "You look good with black hair..."
Yina pulled back a bit at the corners of her mouth and shot another Arrow fated to be unfruitful at the other party: "Whether that’s small talk or not, thanks anyway."
"Heh, I’m serious."
Double Leaf laughed silently, speaking softly: "After all, Yina, you... huh?!"
Swoosh—
The Arrow grazed Double Leaf’s left arm, tearing the robe’s sleeve and leaving a bloodstain on her smooth skin.
"Huh?!"
Yina was also stunned, instinctively pulling back the longbow while exclaiming in surprise: "How did you get hit?!"
It must be said, hearing this from Yina, who just shot the Arrow, seemed a bit ridiculous. However, within the scene, it made sense. Anyone with a brain could see that the Fenrir team was no match for Double Leaf.
Yet Yina managed to wound Double Leaf with one Arrow!
But that’s not important!
What’s truly important is—
"Yina, big sister, why can you speak!?"
"Why did you assume I’m mute, little girl?!"
