Four Split Personalities
Chapter 2809 - 1330: Became Light_2
"Thanks... thank you."
Teresa lowered Foster’s face weakly and said thanks, then took the bottle Motan handed back and drank the contents in one gulp.
"Phew."
Finally managing to find some calm, Motan let out a long sigh, trying his best not to look at the ’Foster’ next to him, and asked dryly, "So... um, who are you?"
Because the person next to him, who was likely disguising as a girl, had somewhat poor mental fortitude (even worse than Motan’s current state), Motan didn’t adopt the same aggressive manner as before but instead switched to a relatively soothing tone.
"I am... Foster’s junior."
Teresa honestly mumbled a sentence and then added courteously, "I transformed into him using Compound Water Agent... Foster and Lian know it... others don’t."
Motan nodded slightly, rubbed his temple in slight headache, and said dryly, "So when can you turn back to your own appearance?"
"I just drank the neutralizer, so it should soon... uh!"
Teresa barely finished half of her sentence when Foster’s face turned bright red and then vanished in an instant.
Motan: ???
Following closely, he realized the person hadn’t truly vanished but instead shrunk from nearly six foot three down to about five foot two, flashing out of his visual range, thus creating the illusion of ’disappearing’.
Teresa was right; compared to the Compound Water Agent, which required taking twice and worked slowly, the neutralizer as an ’antidote’ was rapid and effective; after downing one bottle, she returned in less than two minutes.
In any case, when Motan instinctively bowed his head, the person before him was no longer the mismatched ’Foster Ward’ but a slightly familiar-looking dazzling young girl with long silver hair, petite stature, and fair skin.
Indeed, very dazzling, exceedingly dazzling!
Dazzling to the extent of almost blinding!
Suddenly—
"Ah!!!!!!"
Upon realizing Foster’s oversized clothing slipped off her shoulders, Teresa first instinctively glanced at the dumbfounded Motan staring at her, then took half a second before letting out an intensely piercing scream, quickly squatting down.
Yes, it seems some spectators have already guessed it; in the extreme confusion, Teresa Tarosa completely overlooked the significant shrinkage upon recovering and hadn’t prepared a backup outfit, resulting in major exposure. As for how serious, let’s say, in Motan’s eyes now, this girl has seemingly—transformed into light!
"I didn’t see anything! I saw absolutely nothing!"
Having previously researched that ’light’ for at least two seconds, Motan promptly turned away, proclaiming two painfully obvious truths nobody would believe, then said tremblingly, "You... you please put on some clothes!"
"Foster’s clothes... are too large!"
The distressed girl groaned desperately, trying hard to cover her practically ’vacuum’ body, until she barely managed to throw that oversized coat over herself, looking as if wearing an extremely revealing dress.
This is not exaggerated; firstly, Danu Military Academy’s male uniform belongs to the less fitted, relatively loose type, and Foster, being quite tall albeit not as brawny as Cui Xiaoyu and Wanyang, still has a close to six foot three height that regardless of being merely ’well-proportioned’, is absolutely unsuitable for Teresa who is just over five foot two, even considering slim amongst females!
Motan cautiously glanced back, this time the girl who had already covered most of her body wasn’t glowing, yet upon noticing the snowy skin faintly visible beneath, he felt it’d be better if she was glowing!
This will not do; both Motan and Teresa knew this point well; after all, it’s the academy—though during the Warfire League not many might show up, even a single student, faculty, or security guard passing by would make this situation irreparably sour.
Motan was almost certain that with the tabloids of Academy City, within half a day there will be numerous ’shocking reports’ spreading this scene across the city; he’s indifferent, but for this girl who appears several years younger than himself in school, it’s a disaster.
Thus, Motan promptly ’produced’ a full set of headwear-inclusive, rather lavishly styled dress, tossing it to Teresa: "Put this on first! Then find a secluded spot! Your scream was too loud just now!"
"Ah... alright... thank you!"
The girl, whose mind almost entirely crashed, didn’t think much, promptly getting dressed at lightning speed, shakily standing up, grabbing Motan’s wrist, and rushing off.
...
Ten minutes later
Main Building of [Danu Military Academy], B2F [Third Research Room]
"Please wait here for me!"
Upon bursting into the research room’s lobby with Motan, stumbling at least three times, overturning items five times, and knocking over objects like stand-alone magic crystal lamps eight times along the way, Teresa heaved a long sigh and released Motan’s wrist, rushing into a corner booth of the research room, slamming the door shut.
Motan: "..."
Having guessed the real identity of the silver-haired girl en route, Motan still couldn’t piece everything together himself, utterly puzzled at how things ended up this way.
So he stood by the door dazed for quite a while before somewhat wearily giving up thinking and shifting his focus to the spacious room.
The label on the entrance read [Third Research Room], three walls covered with large crystal screens, shelves lined with twenty or so [Battle Six type] devices on either side, with a seemingly finely crafted, likely costly projector facing Motan’s crystal screen. The content showcased the finale of Ramollok and Richard Ryan’s battle, filled with densely packed marks and annotations.
A seemingly unfitting long table oddly standing next to the projector was stacked with files appearing to be battle reports and maps at first glance, several half-eaten but not entirely consumed snacks, and half a cup of cold coffee.
[Hmm, seems like it’s not a place ordinary students can access.]
Motan silently sighed within, slowly stepping to the only screen with an image, meticulously observing the grand-scale ’replay notes’.
...
Five minutes later
"If Ryan chose to bypass from the back of the [Cherry] base, could he escape the course Ramorok’s chief priest set, theoretically?"
Accompanied by footsteps not exceeding 45kg, a clear and pleasant female voice sounded behind Motan.
"Impossible."
Motan shook his head, providing a straightforward answer.
"Why? Keep in mind based on the situation back then, as long as Ryan..."
"Richard Ryan wouldn’t do so; his intelligence network was already rendered powerless. If you think about it, for Ryan back then, the [Cherry] stationed position you marked wouldn’t look like an opportunity but a dead-end."
"But it indeed was a safe path."
"A safe path imperceptible in reality, essentially still a dead-end."
"If I were in the situation, I would’ve taken a risk on it."
"But you are not Richard Ryan; integrating oneself into Ryan’s mindset for Ramorok dealing only with Ryan, it’s quite unfair."
"Th-thanks for the compliment."
Having switched back into her own uniform, placing the skirt dress gently on the table, the girl blushed slightly and smiled softly, saying, "Hello, Black Vatican Priest, nice to meet you, I am..."
"Miss Teresa Tarosa, honored to meet you."
