Uhtred stared at the notice in surprise. It had been a long while since the System sent a string of notices like this, so one could understand why he was a bit taken aback.
It felt somewhat nostalgic. But at the same time, Uhtred, in his usual fashion, tried analyzing why he was only just seeing a notice now unlike with the previous floors.
Before he could do that, though, the next string of messages popped up — this time from his chat:
> Veloraian Lord Of The Green Hats_69: Finally! Something good is happening in this guy’s stream! I thought he would take that damned break forever!
> Unrivaled Alchemy Grandmaster of the Crimson Star Cluster: @Veloraian Lord Of The Green Hats_6 Don’t you have other things that occupy your time besides watching fledgling world talents at every moment? The few times I’ve checked in here, you are always online… even when the kid was off doing boring stuff on his world.
> Serial_Troll_Nyx: @Unrivaled Alchemy Grandmaster of the Crimson Star Cluster What do you expect? Look at his username, “Lord of the Green Hats!” He’s a fucking creep! I bet the guy hasn’t stepped out to see daylight for hundreds of years at least!
> Veloraian Lord Of The Green Hats_69: @Serial_Troll_Nyx You’re one to talk! Look at your username too, you damned troll! A pot calling the kettle black! Acting like you’re not chronically online just like me!!
> Serial_Troll_Nyx: @Veloraian Lord Of The Green Hats_69 Screw you! I’m not a fucking creep like you, watching every waking moment of these little fellows’ lives! If a stream isn’t interesting, I just switch my attention to another that’s more interesting!
> Godly_Fiend_Anjos: Sigh… The kid’s stream has only just resumed action and these guys are already at it.
> Thunderous_Lord_ReJolt: @Godly_Fiend_Anjos Haha! I actually quite enjoy their senseless banter every now and then. It makes the chat lively…
.
.
Uhtred watched the messages scroll by rapidly. The usual banter had ensued in his chat again, and the culprits were the exact same troublemakers as always.
Suddenly, a laugh escaped Uhtred’s throat. He lay down flat on his back and stared up at the night sky, feeling a delightful sense of familiarity, but also freedom.
Perhaps it was the combination of the System notices, the chat messages, the fact that he had fought an arduous battle solo and came out victorious… but right now, it felt like he had returned to a time not long after the integration — the days of his pure combat and grinding, with only his chat and the System notices to keep him company.
Lying in the dirt, with his body throbbing seriously in pain, somehow, he felt right at home.
He lay there for a bit more, cycling his Basic Healing magic to his most vital injuries. It wasn’t until a while later before he finally stood up and went over to loot the corpse of the Apetitan for its core and also check out the aftermath of his Railgun spell.
At the same time, he also took the time to actually process the System notices that appeared after the fight.
So the System classifies constructs as a separate spell entirely, he mused, staring at the notices in thought. Well I guess that makes sense. Normally, constructs are restricted to those who have hyper-specialized classes… like Mateo. It comes naturally to them because that’s the only way they can actualize their magic…
That’s why I received that Hyper-Specialized title too. This is my first true attempt to mimic a specialized class’ ability.
Uhtred scrolled to the section of the new title he gained and stared at it in thought:
First from Earth and second in Scenario world to create a hyper-specialized class’ construct from scratch…
He raised a brow.
So there’s someone else in this scenario who also has several affinities… enough that it allows them to mimic a specialized class’ type of ability…
It was slightly surprising, but not really when looked at with an objective lens. The champions in this scenario — particularly those from races more naturally powerful than humans — were seriously talented.
Uhtred had seen evidence of that on the Scenario rankings, so it really didn’t surprise him too much to learn that someone without a natural specialized class had created a construct before him.
“Eh. It is what it is anyway,” Uhtred shrugged and turned, beginning to vacate the site of his battle. His natural sense for danger was still very active — especially in this forest environment. He recognized that staying here too long wasn’t ideal. Even if lower level beasts were scared of coming here because of the raging fires and remnant auras of his battle with the Apetitan, higher level beasts wouldn’t be the same. They could grow curious and decide to come out and check the result of the ruckus.
Uhtred didn’t want to be here for that. Especially in his current state.
He needed to find a quiet place to recover and heal himself before resuming his travel.
“Heh. Is it even a travel at this point?” Uhtred chuckled as he walked away from the battle site. He knew very well that the moment he recovered well enough to resume, he wasn’t going to be “traveling” at all.
The only thing on his mind right now was his new Railgun spell. He wanted to keep testing it out — and not just that alone, he also wanted to test out other constructs… things he could create with his lightning magic… like his battleaxe from before.
“At this pace I’ll probably be in this forest for more days than I initially estimated,” Uhtred sighed, though there wasn’t the slightest trace of unwillingness in his voice. In fact he looked eager to stay longer here.
“Ah. I totally forgot,” Uhtred suddenly facepalmed. “How many points did I gain from that Apetitan anyway?”
The ranking that had held so much weight to him was totally forgotten up till now. Casually, he opened the rankings to check:
