The glowing glade lay wrapped in silver moonlight and pulsing flowers, their soft blue-and-silver rhythm matching the quiet beat of Hyun-woo’s heart.

Medusa’s head rested against his shoulder, her cool scales brushing his arm, her dark lotus scent mingling with the sweet night air.

For several long, peaceful minutes, they simply existed together.

Then, Medusa shifted.

In one fluid motion, she rose and moved over him, her powerful emerald-scaled serpent tail coiling possessively around his waist and lower body, pinning him gently but firmly to the warm silver fur blanket.

The smooth, cool scales of her long tail wrapped around his legs and hips with surprising gentleness, the tip twitching with barely contained emotion.

The heavy, soft fullness of her breasts pressed flush against his chest through the thin fabric of her silk robes, cold and impossibly soft.

Emerald snake-hair spilled over his shoulders like living silk, several smaller vipers nuzzling his neck with curious, affectionate flicks of their tongues.

Hyun-woo’s breath caught. His hands instinctively settled on the smooth transition where her pale skin met the cool emerald scales of her serpentine lower body.

Medusa leaned down slowly, her slit-pupil emerald eyes dark with vulnerability, lips hovering barely an inch from his. Her cool breath ghosted across his mouth, sending a shiver down his spine.

“…Are you really sure about this, Hyun-woo?” she whispered, her voice husky yet trembling. Her cool hands framed his soft, handsome face, thumbs brushing his cheeks almost reverently. “With all of us? With me? After everything men have done to me… to us?”

He smiled up at her, brown eyes warm and steady despite the pounding in his chest. “You asked me the same question before, you know.”

Medusa’s lips curved into a small, teasing smirk, though her eyes remained haunted. “And you never gave me a proper answer then. So I’m asking again. Here. Now. With no one else around to interrupt.”

Her voice softened, cracking just slightly. “I was once a priestess, Hyun-woo. Devoted. Pure. Poseidon took that from me in a temple meant for another god. Cursed me. Turned my beauty into a weapon that destroyed everyone who looked upon me. My sisters suffered because of it. For thousands of years, every man who came near me wanted only to use me, to hunt me, or to break me. I became cold… inside and out. A monster who froze her own heart so it could never be hurt again.”

She paused, her cool fingers tracing the line of his jaw with aching tenderness, while her heavy serpent tail tightened slightly around him in a protective, almost fearful embrace. “And then you appeared. Warm. Gentle. You looked at me… not as a curse, not as a monster, but as me. You saved us without asking for anything. You let me feel… warm. I need to know if you truly understand what you’re choosing. Because once I let you in completely… I don’t think I can ever go back again.”

Hyun-woo’s gaze dropped to her lips for a moment, then back to her eyes, filled with quiet understanding. “Why did you kiss me in the boutique if you weren’t sure?”

A faint blush colored her pale cheeks. “Because I could,” she replied simply, unapologetically, though vulnerability lingered in her tone. “Don’t change the subject!”

He chuckled softly. “Okay.”

She waited, hovering so close their breaths mingled. His warm, hers cool. Creating tiny sparks of sensation where they touched.

The anticipation stretched taut between them, heavy with the weight of her wounds and the cool strength of her coiled tail.

Hyun-woo lifted his head just enough to press a single, gentle peck to her lips. Soft. Brief. Full of quiet promise and acceptance.

“Does that answer your question?” he murmured against her mouth.

Medusa’s eyes widened, then softened into molten emerald, shimmering with unshed emotion. “Yes… it did.”

The last thread of her restraint snapped.

Without warning, she surged forward and claimed his mouth in a voracious kiss.

It wasn’t gentle. It was hungry—a starving, centuries-deep need pouring into him like a dam finally breaking free from its restraints.

Her cool lips crushed against his, soft yet demanding, parting instantly so her forked tongue could invade.

The twin tips danced and curled around his tongue with expert precision, stroking, teasing, and exploring every inch of his mouth as if memorizing the one man who had chosen her despite how she looked.

No matter how much time had passed, there was a tiny thing in her heart that never accepted how she looked. But now, she was glad that she was a monster.

Because right now, she liked this feeling. She liked his warm feelings.

Hyun-woo moaned into the kiss, his hands sliding up her back to pull her impossibly closer.

The temperature contrast hit like liquid lightning. His burning heat met her refreshing coolness, creating a euphoric friction that made every point of contact sing.

Where her cool breasts pressed against his chest, his warmth seeped through her robes, chasing away the eternal chill she had carried since her curse.

Her cool hands tangled in his black hair, tugging just right, while his hot palms roamed the smooth skin of her waist and the cool emerald scales of her powerful tail, warming them until they almost felt feverish under his touch.

The kiss deepened, growing messier. Wet sounds filled the glade with soft gasps, the slick slide of tongues, and occasional needy whimpers from Medusa when his arousal pulsed particularly strongly against her.

Her snake-hair writhed in ecstasy, several vipers gently nipping and licking at his jaw and neck, adding tiny cool sparks to the overwhelming heat.

Her thick serpent tail squeezed and shifted around his body in rhythmic waves, the cool scales gliding against his legs and hips as the euphoric mix of temperatures made her head spin.

Every breath he exhaled into her mouth felt like liquid fire melting chapters of ice, leaving her trembling with raw pleasure and something dangerously close to healing.

They kissed for what felt like an eternity; it was long, devouring, breathless minutes. Medusa ground slowly against him, the powerful coils of her tail holding him steady as she moved.

Hyun-woo’s hands slipped lower, gripping the base of her tail and her hips, pulling her down harder. Their combined heat and coolness built into something intoxicating, euphoric waves rolling through both of them with every slide of tongue and press of body.

Finally, gasping, they broke apart. Strings of saliva connected their swollen lips.

Both were panting heavily, their chests heaving. Medusa’s eyes were glazed with lust and glistening with emotion, her forked tongue darting out to taste the remnants of him on her lips.

Hyun-woo’s face was flushed, his handsome features dazed with desire.

Medusa didn’t waste time. Her cool fingers slid down his chest, tracing the new combat tunic before reaching the waistband of his pants.

She tugged impatiently, ready to free him and take things further, her powerful emerald serpent tail tightening around his hips in eager anticipation.

Ring. Ring. Ring.

A shrill, magical tone shattered the heated silence like a bucket of ice water.

Medusa’s hand froze mid-motion. Her emerald eyes flashed with irritation as she glared at the glowing phone right beside them on the blanket. She glanced at the screen to see who was calling at this hour.

“It’s Ebonara,” she hissed, her voice dripping with anger. She snatched the device with one hand while her tail remained possessively coiled around Hyun-woo, refusing to let go.

“What the fuck do you want? I’m busy. Go fuck yourself.”

Ebonara’s voice burst through the communicator.

“Medusa, don’t you dare hang up or smash that thing! Mother is calling an emergency gathering. All Guardians. Now.”

Medusa’s grip tightened dangerously on the crystal, her snake-hair hissing furiously in unison.

The euphoric heat still burned through her body, her cool scales flushed warmer than usual from Hyun-woo’s touch, and her thighs clenched around him. But now, the moment was completely ruined, and the scorpion had the audacity to interrupt it.

Hyun-woo, still breathing hard beneath her, felt the sudden, agonizing chill of the moment slipping away. He gently rested a hand on her arm. “We should go,” he murmured, though the frustration was clear in his voice, too.

Medusa glared at the communicator for another long second, looking ready to crush it. Her forked tongue flicked out in irritation. But Ebonara’s next words stopped her cold.

“Mother also asked to get Cutie pie with us, too. Something serious must have happened.”

Medusa exhaled sharply through her nose, the sound turning into a low growl. Her tail gave one last possessive squeeze around Hyun-woo’s waist before reluctantly loosening its grip. “Fine. We’re coming.”

Reluctantly, she agreed. She couldn't go against Mother—or more likely, she wouldn't.

She ended the call with a vicious jab of her finger, then looked down at Hyun-woo, her eyes still dark with lingering lust and fresh annoyance.

“This isn’t over, Thermós mou,” she whispered, leaning down for one last fierce, too-short kiss.

Her cool lips claimed his with a possessive promise, her forked tongue flicking teasingly against his for a brief second before she finally pulled back.

She rose gracefully, her long emerald serpent tail gliding across the fur blanket as she helped him up.

Hyun-woo adjusted his clothes with a rueful smile. The glade felt noticeably colder without her pressed against him.

As they began the walk back toward the house, they knew Mother’s summons rarely meant anything good, and the lingering heat between them only made the pull of duty more frustrating. She was undeniably frustrated.

Medusa’s voice was quiet as they moved through the glowing forest. “It better be good, Mother, or she might do something.”

Hyun-woo squeezed her hand. “Don't worry. Maybe something really did happen this time.”

Medusa brought his hand toward her mouth and gave it a tender peck. “Let’s just hope something really did happen.”
