Chapter 120: Chapter 120: Shining Brilliantly

At Qiao Suluo’s words, Que Hongjin and the others revealed confused expressions.

They knew their wife possessed a Healing Ability, but its effects were limited with each use and required the aid of brewed herbal medicines to be effective. However, the physical conditions of Que Hongjin and the others were extremely unique. Even if they took medicine, they needed exceedingly rare herbs, some of which were simply impossible to buy in pharmacies. Therefore, treating their conditions had been temporarily put on hold.

Looking at their confused expressions, Qiao Suluo reached out a hand. Controlling her Wood Element Ability with her mind, a beam of green light immediately burst from her palm.

"Look, I’ve awakened a Wood Element Ability," she said. "Right now, it should be at the First Rank."

Although it was only at the First Rank, it was still considered formidable in the present-day Beast World Continent.

Que Hongjin and the others stared at Qiao Suluo in shock. They had always known their wife was amazing and capable of bringing them surprises, but they never expected so many.

"According to ancient records, Beastmen of the Beast World Continent used to live mainly in their respective tribes, and very few could awaken a Wood Element Ability," Que Hongjin said. "Back then, any Beastman who awakened a Wood Element Ability would be supported by the entire tribe to become their Witch Doctor. Their status would be even higher than the tribal chieftain."

Que Hongjin had read countless ancient texts. The Peacock Family had a profound heritage, so he knew of such matters. However, this was his first time seeing a Wood Element Ability in person.

Hearing Que Hongjin’s words, Qiao Suluo was stunned. She wondered if her Wood Element Ability was really that incredible. If so, she had to test its effects even more. She looked at the three of them and asked, "Who wants to go first?"

"Let Que Hongjin go first," Chu Moyuan said.

Bai Qianluo nodded in agreement. Que Hongjin was their wife’s first Beast Husband; they wouldn’t fight him over something like this.

Qiao Suluo turned to Que Hongjin. "Hong Jin, transform into your true form first so I can take a look."

Que Hongjin nodded. In truth, ever since his wings were broken, he generally avoided transforming into his true form unless absolutely necessary. He honestly found himself too hideous to look at.

He quickly transformed into his true form. He was still a beautiful peacock, but his wings were half-broken. With his wings in such a state, he could no longer fly. He was terrified that his wife would find his broken wings ugly and despise him. Yet, the last time he transformed for her, her eyes were filled only with heartache, without a single trace of disgust. In that moment, Que Hongjin felt as though his very heart had been healed.

Qiao Suluo placed her fingers on the remaining half of Que Hongjin’s wings, which had regrown later on. "I’m going to start."

"Okay."

With that, Qiao Suluo activated her Wood Element Ability, channeling its power into his wings. A tearing pain surged from the area. Que Hongjin’s body trembled, but he endured it, refusing to make a single sound so as not to worry his wife.

Qiao Suluo could feel his slight tremors and asked, "Does it hurt a lot?"

"It’s fine."

"The pain means your wings are growing back."

"The broken areas used to have no feeling at all," Que Hongjin said softly. "It was only after you nourished them with your Healing Ability that they regained sensation."

Now, they had grown halfway back. However, ever since he awakened his Light Ability and his wings grew out a little more, there had been no further progress recently.

Bai Qianluo and Chu Moyuan watched the scene intently.

"The wings are growing."

They watched as Que Hongjin’s wings grew and repaired themselves at a visible rate. It was simply unbelievable. They had never heard of a Flying Bird Beastman’s broken wings ever growing back.

"This is a miracle."

If they hadn’t seen it with their own eyes, they truly would have found it hard to believe.

Que Hongjin endured the pain. He didn’t know how much time had passed, but his wings eventually grew out completely. Even the toxins inside his body were entirely expelled by Qiao Suluo’s Wood Element Ability.

"COUGH!"

Que Hongjin suddenly coughed up two mouthfuls of black blood.

"Spitting out that black blood means the poison in your body is completely cured," Qiao Suluo explained.

Looking at Que Hongjin’s newly regrown wings, Qiao Suluo felt a surge of excitement. She never expected that her Wood Element Ability could actually repair his wings. "Your wings have grown back. Are you happy?"

Que Hongjin looked at Qiao Suluo with a deeply affectionate gaze. His picturesque eyes were so tender they seemed ready to drip water. "I am," he replied hoarsely.

As he spoke, his voice choked up slightly. He had never imagined that his wings could actually recover.

Thrilled, Que Hongjin wanted to hug Qiao Suluo, but he noticed a layer of black grime coating his body.

"Those are the toxins and impurities from your body," Qiao Suluo explained. "They’ve all been expelled."

Que Hongjin nodded to show he understood. No wonder his body felt so light right now. "I’ll go wash up first."

"Okay."

Que Hongjin flapped his wings and flew straight out of the courtyard. He needed to find a river to wash up.

Next, Qiao Suluo prepared to treat Bai Qianluo. Although Bai Qianluo’s White Whale Power had recovered somewhat, his body hadn’t fully healed, and he still couldn’t use his past power or Inner Strength.

Bai Qianluo stepped forward and gently wiped the sweat from Qiao Suluo’s forehead. "You’ve worked hard today, Wife. There’s no rush with my body; we can treat it another day. You should rest first."

Having exerted such a powerful Wood Element Ability all at once, Qiao Suluo was indeed quite exhausted. "I’m actually fine."

Seeing her pale face, Chu Moyuan stroked her hair with heartache. "Don’t exhaust yourself, Wife. If you do, we’re the ones who will be heartbroken."

Qiao Suluo’s eyes widened. Heartbroken? When she begged for mercy last night, he only bullied her even more fiercely. She certainly hadn’t seen him acting "heartbroken" then.

Seeing her coquettish and slightly indignant expression, Chu Moyuan’s Adam’s apple bobbed.

Seeing their insistence, Qiao Suluo decided to wait until she had rested before continuing to use her Wood Element Ability to repair their bodies.

Meanwhile, Que Hongjin had found a secluded and quiet river and jumped in to wash up. After washing his body and feathers completely clean, he felt a warm, comfortable sensation radiating from the inside out. A surge of warm power even welled up within him. At that moment, Que Hongjin felt movement in his Dantian.

He wondered, "Is my Dantian reshaping? And is this Inner Strength?"

Que Hongjin could hardly believe it. He used to cultivate Ancient Martial Power, gathering Inner Strength in his Dantian, but he was later ambushed, and his Inner Strength was crippled. Although he had now awakened a Light Ability and didn’t really need Inner Strength anymore, sensing his past power recovering still made him tremble with excitement. It meant that his former strength would also return.

At this moment, a faint light lingered all around his body. He let out a soft sigh and murmured, "My wife truly is a treasure."

At the same time, inside the ancestral hall of the Peacock Family.

The mysterious, dust-covered Jade Token belonging to Que Hongjin suddenly erupted with a brilliant light.

The members of the Peacock Family were in the middle of offering sacrifices to their ancestors in the hall. Upon suddenly witnessing this scene, someone cried out in alarm, "Look! Que Hongjin’s Lifebound Jade Token has lit up!"

"It’s shining so brilliantly! Does this mean Que Hongjin’s body has recovered?"

"But his wings were broken! How could he possibly recover?"

The Peacock Family was an ancient Noble Family. A thousand years ago, they even possessed the largest Peacock Tribe. The reason their tribe had been so powerful was due to the strength of their bloodline. However, over the past millennium, the Peacock Family had fallen from its former glory. Even so, they still practiced their ancient traditions. Every generation, each disciple of the Direct Lineage would receive a Lifebound Jade Token upon birth. These tokens contained a mysterious, ancient power capable of sensing their innate talent and strength.
