Chapter 2581 – The Heavenly Court of the Five Sovereigns, the Jiuhua Dharma Assembly

The God Domain’s Laws were the natural order of the Will of the Heavens.

But Su Yi sensed that his powers of the Grand Dao were different. They seemed more like the natural order of an altogether new Will of the Heavens!

If the seedling Epoch Spark was a new Will of the Heavens, then its new natural order was just started to sprout. That was the easiest way to understand it.

Su Yi suddenly rose, the depths of his gaze bright and clear, as if he’d seen his path into the future. His eyes shone with extraordinary light.

The Sword of the Nine Hells shook and resonated in his sea of consciousness as if sensing his delight. Its three remaining Divine Chains clattered, seemingly startled.

Although he hadn’t achieved a breakthrough in his cultivation, this was far more important than that. It was crucial!

These revelations coursed through him like a current. When he’d finally processed them all, four words rose unbidden to Su Yi’s mind.

I am the Dao!

This was the new path he’d caught his first glimpses of.

Su Yi quietly sensed these changes, then laughed and left seclusion. Before long, he’d located the Heaven-Swallowing Toad Ancestor.

“Give me a few of your Fragments of Heaven’s Will,” he said directly.

The Heaven-Swallowing Toad Ancestor didn’t hesitate to hand them all over. “Here, this is all I’ve got. Take them.”

Su Yi shook his head. “I don’t need all that. I just want to test my cultivation base.”

He selected three third-tier Fragments of Heaven’s Will, as well as a single second-tier fragment. Then, he refined them one by one, right in front of the Heaven-Swallowing Toad Ancestor.

In the end, he reached a conclusion.

Now that the Epoch Spark had become a seedling, refining third-tier Fragments of Heaven’s Will did nothing; they couldn’t even fill the gaps between his teeth. Their effect on the Epoch Spark’s growth was miniscule.

Second-tier fragments were different. They transformed the seedling in more obvious ways, making it noticeably longer and thicker. Its color deepened, too.

It seems I’ll need to focus on gathering second-tier Fragments of Heaven’s Will going forward, thought Su Yi.

A single second-tier fragment would do him more good than over one hundred third-tier fragments!

This was the difference in quality.

Of course, the supreme fragments were the best.

The Epoch Spark managed to sprout while Su Yi was in seclusion largely thanks to the supreme Fragment of Heaven’s Will shaped like a page of scripture.

But such high-level fragments were far too rare. They could only be happened upon by chance.

As enormous as the God Domain was, you could count the supreme Fragments of Heaven’s Will discovered thus far on your fingers!

That very day, Su Yi decided to leave. He was going to explore the God Domain in search of more Fragments of Heaven’s Will.

Zhen Yang, Zhi Shui, Hong Taiyu and the other higher-ups personally saw him off.

“Fellow Daoist Su, are you perhaps interested in participating in the Jiuhua Dharma Assembly?” Hong Taiyu asked suddenly.

Su Yi hadn’t anticipated this question. “What’s that?”

“Three months from now, we and several other top factions of other spacetimes will gather atop Jiuhua Mountain in the Eastern Victory Divine Continent to discuss important business,” explained Hong Taiyu. “The ruling faction of the Epoch of the Five Sovereigns, the Heavenly Court of the Five Sovereigns, is hosting the meeting. About a dozen other top factions will be gathering there. Their hope is to forge an alliance.”

Su Yi instantly recalled someone.

The Celestial Polarity Great Sovereign, Taishu Gong!

When Su Yi saved the Lord of Sleepless Nights in the Extreme Lightning Demon Cave, he crossed paths with Taishu Gong.

But Taishu Gong had kept his temper under control, staying humble, even servile!

Su Yi figured that he was swallowing his anger and enduring out of concern that Su Yi would destroy his spacetime forbidden zone. That was why Taishu Gong chose to endure.

“Forging an alliance, huh…?” said Su Yi. “Is the Heavenly Court of the Five Sovereigns hoping to establish itself as the leader of an alliance of factions of spacetime forbidden zones?”

Hong Taiyu nodded. “That’s most likely the case. If we’re to have an alliance, we’ll naturally need a leader.”

“Is the Heavenly Court of the Five Sovereigns strong?” Su Yi asked with great interest.

This time, it was Zhi Shui who responded. “They aren’t just strong; they’re downright terrifying. The Heavenly Court of the Five Sovereigns is backed by an ancient, mysterious faction of the River of Destiny, and their ranks include many of Those Who’ve Entered the Chamber. Their foundations are incomparably firm.

“They’re all but unparalleled among factions of other spacetimes.

“Even peak otherworld factions like the Fortuitous Sword Mountain and Hangu Academy are a notch inferior to them.”

It hadn’t been long since Su Yi had returned to the God Domain. He’d heard those names, but he didn’t know much about them.

However, it seemed obvious that Five Lightning Temple, a fellow faction from another spacetime, understood far more than other people.

Su Yi pondered briefly, then said curiously, “And how does Five Lightning Temple compare to other factions of alternate spacetimes?”

“We dare not boast, but we won’t feign modesty, either,” said the middle-aged Zhen Yang. “We’re considered a first-rate faction.”

He then went on to explain further. .

Only now did Su Yi understand. The way experts of spacetime forbidden zones saw it, only those factions overseen by False Eternals were truly first rate!

Those with only Half-Step Eternals at the helm were considered merely second rate.

The Heavenly Court of the Five Sovereigns, meanwhile, had a whole host of False Eternals. They were like a crane among chickens. Thus, their position among sects of other spacetimes was incomparably transcendent.

The Jiuhua Dharma Assembly was vivid proof of that; other factions wouldn’t have been qualified to convene such a meeting. Only top factions like the Heavenly Court of the Five Sovereigns had the requisite influence and prestige.

“If the Heavenly Court of the Five Sovereigns really manages to create an alliance of otherworld factions, their alliance will be enormously powerful, enough to intimidate the whole world,” Su Yi said softly. “They’ll even have a real shot at vying for domination of the whole God Domain.”

How terrifying would it be if all of the otherworld factions rallied under a single banner? How many other factions would be able to compete with them?

“Dominating the whole God Domain would likely be difficult, but if such an alliance really took shape, it would become one of the strongest factions in the God Domain,” said Hong Taiyu.

“How does Five Lightning Temple see the situation?” asked Su Yi.

Zhan Yang, Zhi Shui, and Hong Taiyu exchanged glances. In the end, Zhen Yang said, “There are both advantages and disadvantages, but for us, the pros outweigh the cons.”

Su Yi nodded. He understood what they were thinking.

More people meant more power.

If the experts of spacetime forbidden zones stood in the same camp, all of them would have greater odds of surviving the Dark Days of Legend!

If they fought separately, it would be far too easy for other factions to take them down one by one.

Only a few months had passed since the Dark Days of Legend began, but countless factions throughout the God Domain had already toppled.

These included clans and sects native to the God Domain, as well as factions from other spacetimes.

Even peak orthodoxies could, at most, seek refuge in their territories, and they faced the threat of battle at any moment!

“In truth, it’s not just factions of other spacetimes. Similar alliances are cropping up all over the God Domain,” said Hong Taiyu. “Some peak factions are continuously acquiring other factions and their territories to strengthen themselves.

“Others are creating alliances, all for the sake of self-preservation during the Dark Days of Legend.”

Here, Hong Taiyu looked at Su Yi. “Isn’t that true of your Sunset Perch Island, too?”

Su Yi was briefly stunned, but when he thought about it, he realized it was true. Sunset Perch Island wasn’t a sect, but because of its connection to him, it had become a terrifying faction in its own right, one that no one dared to overlook.

In this lifetime, he’d gathered a group of friends and brothers-in-arms of his past lives. Pick any one of them at random, and you’d have an old-timer famed throughout the God Domain.

That aside, by now, everyone knew that the Qilin Trading Company was staunch allies with Sunset Perch Island, and that they followed Su Yi’s every command.

Combined with Su Yi’s personal prestige, and Sunset Perch Island now occupied an incomparably transcendent position in the God Domain.
