Find a Troubled Girl after leaving the Guild
Chapter 1061 - 519: Cha’ain
Chapter 1061: Chapter 519: Cha’ain
"The incorrigible scoundrel of the marketplace colliding with the luxurious power of the pinnacle nobility—this ultimate product of collision is essentially nothing but filth relying on the Cha’ain family," Elaphia said with distaste.
The young girl, a literary enthusiast who had been organizing the manuscripts earlier, whispered to Diao, "Indeed, the young lady always insults with such elegance."
"Anyway, what I want to tell you is, with his personality, if he didn’t already know this sword would be handed over to you, and felt he was at a disadvantage, he would definitely go to great lengths to trouble you."
Elaphia sighed again, "I know you think he’ll fear you because of your power, but if it comes to that, and he is determined to trouble you, it will end up causing issues for your entire team."
A Xiang turned to look at his companions, acknowledging that Blondie Douding was right.
"Then, he gave me the sword, so sure that I would come to the Dwarf Secret Realm?" A Xiang asked again.
"You have been showing interest in collecting the Five Swords from the start," Li Ang said.
"Really, really?" A Xiang laughed dryly.
"Yes, leader." "Absolutely, Brother A Xiang."
His teammates all echoed, and A Xiang grudgingly hung his head.
"Alright, I’ve fallen into this trap for the first time."
Li Angxian chuckled twice, then said seriously, "It’s not your fault; such a level of conspiracy is hard for the targeted person to detect the truth."
His gaze briefly met Diao’s.
A Xiang was certainly not a minor character in Nebis; in certain timelines, he would become one of the principal forces resisting enemies of the world, even a leader among them.
It seems that his fate was already intertwined with these matters, leading to the ultimate outcome.
Li Ang continued the topic, "I didn’t expect that the conspiracy of the Wyrm Dragon and Jade Dragon would also be connected to the Fairy Dragon."
"What do you mean by that?" A Xiang asked with a face full of resignation at the multitude of matters.
"After our last meeting, Holy City was invaded," Elaphia said.
"What? We didn’t know?"
"During the control phase, the matter was sealed off; not many knew about it, and it caused no greater damage so it didn’t spread further. Besides, I think you went off drinking somewhere after the meeting?"
"Haha."
Blondie Douding sighed and said, "The Fairy Dragon invaded Holy City, entered Vault No. 1, and the motive remains unclear. But generally, there are two possibilities: plundering wealth and framing. Furthermore, the former possibility includes catching other nobles’ weaknesses."
Li Ang remained silent; he indeed had done the same.
He sneaked a glance at Liluliss nearby, wondering if she would have a similar reaction to Zoe upon hearing "robbing a bank."
However, Lily only stared blankly, lost in thought.
Ah, right, Cha’ain.
Li Ang had been wanting to figure out who "Cha’ain" mentioned in Zoe’s father’s notes was, but when he met Lily, who knew this person, he dared not ask, as he couldn’t explain how he knew.
If he referred to the notes, it would indicate he knew Zoe, and he hadn’t figured out how to explain that yet.
"... Anyway," Aifei summarized from the side, "Yusef’s power does not stem from the accumulation and legacy of the Cha’ain Clan; rather, it comes from certain dark forces he collaborated with, one of which includes the Fairy Dragon. Through this channel, whether or not it collaborates with the Wyrm Dragon is uncertain."
"That is possible; in Dragon Race knowledge, Fairy Dragons may cooperate with Wyrm Dragons," Li Ang stated.
This realization wasn’t taught by the Dragon but purely deduced from what Meimei said about the Holy City disaster: if Evil Dragons continue to evolve, eventually Nidhogg, the Ancestor of Poison Dragons, will incarnate in Holy City alongside Freya, the Ancestor of Fairy Dragons, to destroy it.
Thus, these two races must have collusion.
With this understanding, the matters following Bone-Deep Passion and Scorn became clear, undoubtedly someone intentionally handed it to A Xiang.
They had long decided to have A Xiang’s Cloudwalkers Guild open the Dwarf Secret Realm; they were capable, albeit not frequently active as a full team, having a laid-back disposition with few substantial collaborations with other factions. If they needed to be dealt with, cleaning up afterward was easy.
"Alright, anyway, I’ll definitely manage the aftermath of this affair as well," A Xiang said with narrowed eyes, his anger rising.
"With the Bone-Deep Passion and Scorn situation discussed, onto the Demon now."
Li Ang said, "I can confirm it’s a Demon because tampering with the Shocking Divine Soul Light—such tasks are beyond beings of this caliber."
Further elaborating on the abilities and situation surrounding the Demon, especially its ability to preserve spirituality within the Spiritual Structure of a race for countless ages, everyone understood Li Ang’s implication.
"This means that in the matter of Divine Artisan’s Five Swords, the Dragon Race executed the tasks more, but behind the scenes, it was Demons who planned."
Demons manipulated the Five Swords, driving the Dragon Race to gather them, open the secret vault, and uncover information about the Creation Furnace.
"This implies those who originally entered this space were Valarg and Fafnir?" A Xiang asked.
"More or less, that’s what the current information suggests."
Li Ang speculated, "The Dragon Race undoubtedly wants to enter the Creation Furnace, and then, either actively or passively, connect with the Demons. Perhaps Demons desire more, but Source Material is essential to its goals."
Source Material, as a core strategic material of the Deus People, Demons covet it to achieve specific purposes—an easy conclusion.
It’s even possible that the Dragon Race is merely a tool used by them, and once the Creation Furnace is found, and the Demons achieve their purpose, the Dragon Race will be discarded.
Of course, these are just Li Ang’s speculations, presently unverified.
Yet, visiting Thousand Tower City to search for Sif has ascended in priority once more.
Clarifying why they are here eased much of the doubts in everyone’s hearts, as the meeting concluded with dinner, and tomorrow, they would continue probing Ernest’s information to locate the control center.
After A Xiang and his group departed, Lily suddenly leaped, sitting beside Li Ang and pulling at his sleeve.
Elaphia and Diao immediately looked over.
"I know Cha’ain, I know Cha’ain," Lily said.
Seeing it was mere business talk, the two young girls relaxed, inching closer.
Li Ang was just about to ask her about this matter.
"Do you know Yusef?"
"I don’t know; I only know Cha’ain."
"It must not be Yusef," Li Ang said.
The Cha’ain known to Lily and Zoe’s father was at least eight years ago.
"Earlier Yusef was but one person. Quintus Cha Aine, the last wastrel of the founding family," Elaphia stated.
"I can’t confirm if that’s his name; we just called him Cha’ain."
Lily struggled; after all, back then, she hadn’t considered whether "Cha’ain" was a surname or a given name. She herself had no surname and lacked such common knowledge.
The black-haired girl’s eyes suddenly brightened: "Wait, but I remember his appearance."
Lily began to describe, but the linguistics she learned in the sect was inevitably chaotic, making her depiction of "Cha’ain’s" appearance quite disorganized. This made Diao and Aifei frown.
The trio strove to recognize that she roughly described a man with light brown hair and reddish-brown pupils, very tall and thin.
Aifei slightly furrowed her brow: "This man has hair styled into curls atop his head; he routinely wears a pair of ruby earrings, carries a cane, and virtually wears only white clothing, correct?"
"Yes, yes, exactly; Little Aifei, you know him too?"
Lily grinned, lightly clapping her palms: "He helped us greatly before; he’s very capable and knowledgeable, but later due to some matters, he didn’t come during our last gathering."
Elaphia shook her head: "No need to say more, this appearance, hair color, and eye color match those of the Cha’ain Clan, and those few traits essentially confirm that the one Liluliss knows is indeed Quintus Cha Aine."
"If we find him, that would be excellent," Lily said.
"He’s unfindable; eight years ago, he drowned in his backyard swimming pool," Elaphia stated.
"Impossible!" Lily jumped up: "He’s of Legendary Power, possibly stronger than me. Who could kill him?!"
"Stronger than you?"
Elaphia was taken aback: "That was always referred to as an incompetent wastrel."
