Fated love: the unwanted bride

Chapter 2742: Promises from Others Are Worthless

  • Next Chapter

The sunlight is abundant, even the cats and dogs appear very happy.

On Saturday, she took Little Clementine to pick persimmons from the fruit tree.

The little one had such small hands that she couldn’t hold onto them, so she could only pick the smallest fruits.

Every time she picked a fruit, she was delighted, grinning at Jasmine Yale and endlessly shouting, “Mom, Mom…”

“Fruit,” Jasmine Yale taught her to say.

“Fru…”

“Yes, it’s fruit.”

“Fru…” the little one could only manage one syllable, her big eyes looked innocent.

Jasmine Yale laughed: “Yes, it’s fru.”

She placed Little Clementine sitting on the smooth tree trunk. Little Clementine seemed to especially like climbing trees, like a little panda hanging from a tree.

Jasmine Yale watched with delight, taking several photos of her, and Little Clementine cooperated happily, without crying.

In the empty yard, Jasmine Yale even made a swing by herself.

While she was making the swing, Little Clementine sat in the small cart watching her curiously, not knowing what Mom was doing.

Jasmine Yale wasn’t very skilled with her hands, but surprisingly, the swing was made smoothly with some enthusiastic villagers helping to nail the nails and drag the ropes.

It didn’t take much time, and the swing was completed, very sturdy.

She sat on it herself to test, surrounded by sunshine and flowers, the swing gave her a sense of freedom and flying.

Little Clementine reached out her hands: “Want…”

Jasmine Yale held her sitting on the swing, playing for a while.

Little Clementine was overjoyed, even happier than when riding the small train in Cakago, as if this had become her new toy.

“Mom made this for you, do you like it?”

“In the future, Mom will make many fun things for you, as long as Mom is here, you can just be happy.”

Little Clementine was lively and excited; she seemed to really like the swing.

Jasmine Yale stared hazily at the sun, recalling someone had promised to make two swings for her, one big, one small.

Promises from others are worthless, it’s better to listen but realize them ourselves.

“Mom…” Little Clementine called happily to Jasmine Yale.

Jasmine Yale rubbed her little head.

The little one was easy to take care of, she could manage on her own.

Life in Green Peak Village was much better than she had imagined, maybe because everyone was quite accommodating to her; she hadn’t faced many hardships, even when the water stopped, someone would bring water to her home.

Here, she experienced once again what care meant.

It had been a long time since anyone had cared for her without ulterior motives, the villagers’ concern for her was simple and sincere.

Sometimes the villagers would go outside the village to sell cattle and sheep, and during those times, she would ask them to bring back some little things for her, so life wasn’t too difficult.

There weren’t many places in the village to spend money, she would use her salary to buy books and snacks for the children in the orphanage, and they especially liked her.

In autumn, the leaves on the trees gradually fell.

As the weather turned cooler, the ginkgo trees quickly became bare.

In this isolated place, without the internet, she spent more time with the children, preparing lessons, playing games, teaching, she gave it her all.

Because the children’s ages varied, she would separate them for teaching, making it more efficient, and evidently, the children preferred this method.

Older children wrote essays, and when writing about her, they never held back on the praise and adjectives.
