Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2677: Little Clementine Is So Unwell
It wasn’t even time for work yet, but Jasmine Yale had already found the on-duty doctor.
The doctor gave Little Clementine an injection. Little Clementine was very scared and hadn’t cried much along the way, but now she began to cry hard.
When Little Clementine cried, Jasmine Yale wanted to cry too.
She couldn’t bear to see the little one cry; her whole heart was trembling.
"Baby, be good. Once you get the shot, you won’t have a fever anymore, and you won’t feel uncomfortable. Baby, be good, let the doctor uncle give you the shot, okay?" Jasmine Yale coaxed as she helped Little Clementine take off her clothes.
The little one was unwilling, struggling hard in Jasmine Yale’s arms, crying heartbreakingly, her little face turning bright red.
Jasmine Yale felt like crying herself when she saw Little Clementine looking so pitiful.
She steeled her heart and held down Little Clementine to let the doctor give her the shot.
"Wah wah..." Little Clementine cried in pain, very frightened, scratching at Jasmine Yale with her little hands.
After the injection, the doctor put a fever-reducing patch on Little Clementine: "Observe her in the hospital for half a day. After that, continue checking her temperature. If it returns to normal, you can go home. If not, she needs to stay for observation."
"I understand, thank you, doctor." Jasmine Yale took Little Clementine to the mother-and-baby room.
There were several mothers holding children in the mother-and-baby room, and the kids were all crying.
"Butler Santana, I’m still worried..." Jasmine Yale held the crying, restless little one, "A fever is no small matter. Look, Little Clementine is feeling so uncomfortable. Why don’t you see if there’s a better hospital..."
Little Clementine had been listless along the way, but after the injection, she was very restless, incessantly crying in discomfort.
Butler Santana understood how Jasmine Yale felt.
She only has Little Clementine as her daughter, and now that Little Clementine isn’t well, she must be very scared.
She wishes she were a doctor herself.
"Alright, Miss Yale, I’ll go and ask around. You can try to lull Little Clementine to sleep. Maybe she’ll be fine after a nap."
"Her fever is very high, her little hands are burning. It can’t go on like this," Jasmine Yale said anxiously.
"It’s going to be alright, it will be alright. Just wait for me here; I’ll go find the doctor."
"Alright, I really appreciate it."
Butler Santana didn’t know how to console Jasmine Yale either. He looked at Little Clementine in Jasmine Yale’s arms; the little one really looked pitiful, her face wrinkled from crying, no longer possessing even a bit of her usual lively cuteness.
Butler Santana went out.
Jasmine Yale sat down on the sofa, holding Little Clementine, trying her best to comfort her.
"Be good, it’s fine, how about taking a nap, baby? You’ll feel better after a nap. Would you like Mommy to sing for you?"
Little Clementine wasn’t listening and continued to cry.
Jasmine Yale knew how uncomfortable a fever was. Even adults find it painful and unbearable, let alone a child.
Jasmine Yale wrapped Little Clementine tightly in a blanket, holding her close, her heart aching as if pricked by needles. It was a terrible feeling.
She placed her cold forehead against Little Clementine’s forehead, with a tear like a bean rolling in her eye.
She tightly held onto Little Clementine’s restless hands as the little one continued to cry loudly until her voice became hoarse.
After the shot, Little Clementine’s situation didn’t improve, but she cried until she was tired, and her voice grew much softer.
The little one’s hands were still hot. Jasmine Yale held onto them, murmuring softly, "Little Clementine, you’re the best, and you’ll definitely get better. Mommy is right here with you, and Mommy will always stay with you... Once you get better, we’ll go ride the little train and buy a little bunny, okay? Do you like the white bunny or the Little Grey bunny? Let’s get one of each..."
