Fated love: the unwanted bride

Chapter 2602: Your Happiness Is My Happiness Too

  • Next Chapter

Jasmine Yale was wearing high heels, and her foot twisted, causing her to fall to the ground.

The shattered glass scattered everywhere, and the wine, as red as blood, stained the floor, dyeing the hem of Jasmine Yale’s dress red.

She wasn’t seriously injured, just a bit of scraped skin on her palm, and it seemed like she twisted her ankle. The hem of her gown got stained with wine, and her knee hurt a bit.

Surrounded by shards, she didn’t dare to move rashly. She frowned and tried to stand up carefully.

Sylvan Cheney pulled Erin Janus aside: "Are you okay?"

Erin Janus shook her head, patted her chest, and touched her belly: "I’m fine... This, this woman must be drunk, she can’t even walk steadily. She’s so drunk it’s scary. Why doesn’t she just go home after drinking so much, what is she thinking?"

Jasmine Yale propped herself up on the floor. Her eyes were filled with a hazy intoxication and brilliance, as she quietly watched Erin Janus and Sylvan Cheney, with the corners of her lips slightly raised in a smirk.

She didn’t say anything, just continued looking at the two of them.

Erin Janus didn’t like the way she was looking at her, and in fear, she moved closer to Sylvan Cheney: "Evan, what is she trying to do? Look at her drunk state, it’s really terrifying. Evan, let’s go."

"I’ll take you to the hospital to have a look," said Sylvan Cheney.

"I’m fine, I’m not injured," Erin Janus shook her head, "I was just a bit frightened. It’s just bad luck seeing her lately, all sorts of misfortunes."

"You call being frightened ’fine’? You definitely need to go to the hospital."

"Better not. Don’t you and CEO Zaila have a contract to discuss? How about I go by myself?"

"CEO Zaila hasn’t arrived yet. It’s not too late to go to the hospital first and then come back." Sylvan Cheney’s voice was low and reserved. He just glanced lightly at Jasmine Yale before looking at Erin Janus.

Erin Janus held onto his arm, moved: "Evan, you’re so good to me. With you by my side, I finally understand what sweetness is."

The crystal chandelier overhead was dazzlingly bright, and the light hurt the eyes, making the sounds from the dance floor, which weren’t particularly noisy before, become piercing.

The wine was flowing arbitrarily on the ground, like bloodstains, shocking to behold.

Jasmine Yale took off her high heels and stood up on her own, supporting herself on the ground. The goose-yellow gown was stained with wine and no longer pretty.

Jasmine Yale looked down at the small hem of her dress, feeling somewhat regretful.

She stood barefoot on the ground, feeling a chill on the soles of her feet.

Erin Janus looked at her as if she were a plague-spreader, taking two steps back disdainfully, moving closer to Sylvan Cheney with her big belly: "Evan, we should stay away from drunk women, it’s too scary, like a lunatic."

"Erin." Jasmine Yale finally spoke, looking at her indifferently, "Are you not afraid that I’ll push you, just like you pushed me just now?"

"Are you crazy! What are you trying to do? Going after a pregnant woman? Are you a butcher?" Erin Janus looked at her fearfully.

Sylvan Cheney walked over, stood in front of Erin Janus, and stared at Jasmine Yale: "You’re drunk, dare to act recklessly."

"Sylvan Cheney." Jasmine Yale looked steadily into his eyes, just staring like that, her pupils reflecting his distinct features, "It’s not that I don’t dare; I just won’t do it. I’m not ruthless to that extent. Maybe I’m too kind to others, so I bear all the hurt myself. It’s not that I’m that good, it’s just that I don’t want to become people like you. You and Erin Janus are truly a perfect match, maybe that’s the kind of person you are deep down. Rest assured, I won’t do anything to your wife and daughter. You be happy, and I will be happy too."

Sylvan Cheney furrowed his brow tightly, lips compressed.

For a long time, he said heavily, "You’re drunk."
