Chapter 2660: Chapter 1152: The Root of Calamity (Part 2)
This means their ability is very strong, so strong it exceeds the range that True Sight can discern.
"Aren’t you afraid he might actually release the Fire Giant Spirit Duke Mannor? I don’t know whether Karinshan will be razed to the ground, but if your Entangled Rune Society still wants to play political games on this land, then you’re playing with fire. One careless move and you’ll burn yourselves to ashes."
The Forest Lady’s next words were like a heavy bomb, startling Gaven even more; the amount of information contained within was enormous.
This mountain blaze was actually connected to the legendary Fire Giant Spirit Duke Mannor; he was one of Karinshan’s Creators. Even if what remained of him was a heap of evil infamy, no one dared deny his power.
Entangled Rune Society was likewise a name of tremendous weight. It was a highly secretive organization; Gaven only knew that their highest leadership was called the Master of Rune. Let alone their names, even their numbers were unknown.
All that was known was that this organization held an extremely strong influence over Karinshan; behind many policies lay their interests and their shadow.
What answered the Forest Lady was still endless silence.
"Since you’re going to play dead, don’t blame me for showing no mercy." The Forest Lady looked at Gaven with deep brown eyes like a large pool. "Use the Strategic Plunderer and force them out for me."
Force them out?
I can’t even see where they’re hiding; how am I supposed to force them out?
Though Gaven was full of doubts, he still followed Melikai’s suggestion, reverted to his original form, and summoned the War Ravager.
With the War Ravager in hand, Gaven’s doubts instantly ceased to be doubts. He clearly felt the omnipresent Undead Power around him, especially not far ahead; the Undead Energy there had grown so dense it couldn’t be dispersed, directly Rending space itself, forming another small world—a world of Undead Power.
No wonder Gaven’s True Sight failed; the two sides simply weren’t in the same space.
Now the situation became simple instead. Gaven urged the War Ravager; mighty Power of Undead spread outward with it as the center, at extreme Speed. The other side had no time to react at all; that small world formed of Undead Power collapsed on the spot, and four figures wreathed in black mist tumbled out from within, in thoroughly bedraggled fashion.
The Undead Power coiling around their bodies could not form any concealment against Gaven, who wielded the War Ravager; he saw through their appearances with ease.
Three Witches, one Vampire, all at Legendary level at minimum, their bodies radiating powerful Magic Aura.
No wonder the Entangled Rune Society was so secretive—turns out their core leadership was a group of Undead Spellcasters, Legendary powerhouses standing atop the secular world.
Casually pulling out any one of them, they would already be a figure of tremendous weight in the mortal realm, let alone a group gathered together.
No wonder the Incarnation of the Forest Lady Meikaili also treated them with such importance—they were enough to pose a lethal threat to her.
Forced out of Invisibility, the four Undead Spellcasters couldn’t help but exchange glances; in their gaze toward the War Ravager there was undisguisable shock and fear.
The female Vampire felt it even more; she sensed a mortal threat from it, yet there was also an indescribable attraction, especially that handsome face opposite her, like a blazing fire drawing a moth to its flames. It made her icy heart thud violently, as if about to leap out of her chest. That familiar yet strange feeling intoxicated her.
One of the Witches spoke first: "Forest Lady, I think you’ve misunderstood. What’s happening here has nothing to do with us. We merely heard the news and came to watch the fun.
Even if you are filled with rage, you shouldn’t vent it on us, but should go to Serenagrad and find Pisacar. He is the true instigator of this entire affair."
This Witch was the most normal in Body Type among the three. Though thin and with pale skin, his body had not completely rotted. His eyes flashed with the icy gleam unique to Witches, stabbing like needles.
"You already noticed Pisacar’s actions long ago, so why didn’t you stop him?" Melikai demanded angrily.
"Why should we stop him? Guarding the mountains and forests is your duty, not ours!" another Witch retorted.
Compared to the previous one, his appearance was far more typical: an outright Skeleton draped in a loose black Great Mage Robe, holding a Great Mage Staff. The icy gleam shooting from his eyes was no weaker than the other’s, perhaps even stronger.
"You truly aren’t afraid of Pisacar inheriting Mannor’s Strength?"
"Leaving aside whether Pisacar even has that ability—only if he inherits that Strength will things become interesting! Karinshan now is not the Karinshan of seven thousand years ago. Whether it’s Karin or Mannor who’s released, he’ll have to curl up obediently like a dog." This time the speaker was the remaining female Witch.
There was no way to see her Body Type; her whole figure was wrapped in a voluminous Mage Robe, and a silver Magic Mask covered her face, revealing only a pair of icy eyes that marked her as a Witch.
"Your arrogance will destroy you sooner or later." The Forest Lady was grinding her molars to the point of cracking. What made her incompatible with these Undead Powers was not only the nature of their Power, but also their way of thinking.
In the eyes of these Undead Creatures, everything in the world other than themselves was a chess piece, something to be toyed with and destroyed at will.
