Farming in a Parallel World and Becoming a God
Chapter 2659 - 1152: The Source of Calamity
Chapter 2659: Chapter 1152: The Source of Calamity
Gaven made flexible use of this trait; like that first Flame Flying Dragon, trying to play a life-or-death speed game with him was basically impossible now.
He simply drew his Energy Gathering Longbow to left and right, first using a saturated Elemental Energy Accumulator to drag that Flame Flying Dragon in, then, when another one escaped, he greeted it head-on with an unsaturated one, pulling a last-minute cell swap.
This joy-turned-to-tragedy routine directly broke several Flame Flying Dragons, leaving them roaring and cursing in fury, but it was useless—Gaven didn’t bother paying them the slightest attention.
As he collected more and more Flame Flying Dragons, besides being pleased, Gaven felt an even stronger sense of how serious this was. This mountain wildfire didn’t seem to be just a simple Conspiracy aimed at the Golia Tribe.
There were way too many Flame Flying Dragons.
What he had taken in so far was only from the outer ring.
The deeper he went, the more frequently he ran into Flame Flying Dragons, and the number each time kept going up. Many appeared in groups of two or three, big and small mixed together, clearly family clusters.
Right then, a towering peak jutted straight up from the ground, blocking Gaven’s path—Serenagrad Peak, the highest point of the Marching Mountains.
At this moment the peak had already turned into a gigantic torch; not just because of the wildfire, it seemed to be glowing from within itself as well.
The moment he saw Serenagrad Peak, Gaven instinctively felt that was the source of this whole mountain blaze, the root of all the problems.
He beat his wings and shot upward, rapidly climbing until he was tens of thousands of meters in the air, then looked down in a bird’s‑eye view.
From this macro perspective, he could see things that were invisible from an ordinary angle.
This wildfire was far, far larger than he had imagined. Centered on Serenagrad Peak, more than half of the Marching Mountains had been swallowed by the flames.
From above, Gaven really did pick out something unusual.
Those Flame Flying Dragons weren’t setting fires at random; they were acting in a very patterned way. Where the lines of wildfire could be linked into sheets, many places that should have been open ground were instead burning fiercely, with varying numbers of Flame Flying Dragons and Fire Slag Clusters dancing wildly there.
The sight immediately reminded Gaven of a place—the Skeleton Volcano he had built in the Bottomless Abyss.
Those bands of Flame, weren’t they just like Skeleton Roads?
Only what was being channeled along them wasn’t the Power of Slaughter, but Flame Power—the massive Flame Power generated by the burning forests.
In other words, the Marching Mountains had already been turned into a gigantic Flame Magic Array, with Serenagrad Peak as the Array’s center, gathering Power of Flames.
An Array that was still actively running.
What were they trying to do?
Gathering a sea of Fire Element inside a dormant volcano—weren’t they afraid it would flare back to life, re‑enter an active phase, and blow in a volcanic eruption?
Or rather, was this exactly the Controller behind the scenes’ true objective?
In the Multiverse, a lot of things simply couldn’t be judged by common sense.
For most creatures, a volcanic eruption was an extinction‑level disaster.
But for Fire Element Creatures like Flame Flying Dragons and Fire Slag Clusters, it would be a carnival.
Without even realizing it, Gaven flew toward Serenagrad Peak, lowering his altitude as he went, trying to observe what was happening inside.
Serenagrad Peak rose to more than four thousand meters, a very typical volcanic cone, overall leaning toward a Pyramid shape. At the top yawned a gigantic crater; although it bore no snow, there was a crater lake whose surface area exceeded ten square kilometers and whose depth was unfathomable.
It was the source of the Agis River, Karin River, and River of Ice, also known as the Three Rivers Source.
Now, the Three Rivers Source had already become a thing of the past—there wasn’t a drop of water to be seen inside. In its place surged madly dancing Flames, and a massive number of Flame Flying Dragons were gathered here, densely packed, numbering over a hundred, like a knotted ball of snakes huddled together in one massive mating tangle.
Seeing this, Gaven didn’t feel excited—his scalp tightened. Even as a Demigod, he didn’t dare dive in rashly.
Fortunately, during his descent he spotted a familiar figure. He immediately flew over. "My Lady, so you arrived early."
It was a tall, well‑proportioned woman of solid Toughness, wearing a dark brown Leather Armor, a verdant Longbow on her back, a pair of Curved Sabers at her waist. Her reddish‑brown hair hung freely over her shoulders and back as she stood in midair, gazing down with deep, cold eyes at the Serenagrad Peak buried in roaring flames.
Although she looked very different from their previous two meetings, Gaven still recognized her identity at a glance—the Incarnation of the Forest Lady Melikai.
More accurately, the Forest Lady used different Incarnations for different circumstances.
At their first meeting, they had been discussing the concept of harmonious development, and the Incarnation the Forest Lady chose was young and vigorous, representing a keen drive to advance.
The second time they met was during the expansion of the natural Dream, and because it involved the Laiserman Witches, the Forest Lady used a comparatively gentle Incarnation.
This time, facing a severe natural disaster and enemies of the forest, the Forest Lady had dispatched a High Godhood Incarnation specialized in Combat. The chill aura rolling off her body was like late autumn before Frost Winter arrives, harboring endless solemn Slaughter and fury.
The Forest Lady gave Gaven a slight nod but didn’t reply. Instead, she turned her head toward the empty air and said, "How long do you plan to just sit there and watch the show?"
There were others here?
Gaven started, swept his gaze around a few times, but still saw nothing—empty air, no sign of any Invisibility targets.
But the Forest Lady clearly wasn’t joking, especially not at a time like this.
