Chapter 319 - 320: Kill Them All and Be Done With It

Old Huang sat in the corner, impassively watching the scene unfold.

Seeing the two of them at a standstill, Stone grew anxious. He gently poked Xiao Yu and whispered, "Young Master, don’t be angry yet. Think about it. If Miss Gu is saying this, there must be a reason. Why not ask her about it first?"

Xiao Yu considered this and agreed. He suppressed his anger, looked at Gu Fei, and tried to keep his voice level. "Did something happen at the shop?"

Gu Fei’s expression was placid. "It’s nothing. All I ask is to live a peaceful and stable life. I ask for your understanding, Young Master Heir."

Xiao Yu frowned. "Was it that bastard Housekeeper Wu? Did he give you trouble again?"

A mocking smile touched Gu Fei’s lips. "Then perhaps the Young Master Heir should ask Housekeeper Wu. What’s the point of asking me!"

With that, she turned and walked toward the back courtyard.

Xiao Yu dashed over and grabbed her arm. "You’re not leaving until you explain yourself!"

Gu Fei wrenched her arm from his grasp. "I’m too ashamed to say it! I can’t bring myself to speak of it! If the Young Master Heir wants to know, go ask the people in your Prince Mansion!"

Xiao Yu knew something was seriously wrong. He gritted his teeth as he watched Gu Fei’s back disappear through the rear entrance, then spun around, stormed out, and mounted his horse. "Back to the mansion!"

He had spent the better part of a month rushing about, beating those pirates to a pulp, all because he wanted to come back and see her sooner.

He never expected his heart, brimming with joy, to be doused with ice-cold water.

A few swift horses galloped straight for the Prince Qi Mansion.

Back in the inner courtyard, before he even had time to remove his battle armor, Xiao Yu ordered Stone, "Go. Find out exactly what happened to Little Fei!"

Stone acknowledged the order and left, while Zhuzi hurried over to help Xiao Yu unfasten his battle armor.

By the time Xiao Yu had finished his bath, Stone had returned with news.

Hua Ping was drying Xiao Yu’s hair. Xiao Yu waved her away, and only then did Stone speak. "Young Master Heir, I found out what happened. A while ago, the Princess Consort had her people bring Miss Gu and her maid to the mansion."

Xiao Yu frowned. "Why would my mother send for her?"

Stone’s cheek twitched. "Well, someone told the Princess Consort that you and Miss Gu... well... that you were involved. Her Highness was furious and had Nanny Xu... perform an inspection on Miss Gu."

Xiao Yu stared at Stone. "An inspection?"

Stone stammered, "Well, it’s... they... they stripped her to check if she was... still a virgin..."

Stone’s voice dwindled to a whisper as Xiao Yu’s face visibly darkened. Through gritted teeth, he growled, "Has my mother gone mad?!"

Stone shivered. He really didn’t want to say the next part, but he had no choice. "M-Miss Gu... she must have felt deeply insulted. It provoked her temper, and... and she swore a vicious oath in front of the Princess Consort."

A sudden, terrible premonition washed over Xiao Yu. "Spit it out. What oath did she swear?"

"Miss Gu said that if she ever harbored any improper feelings for you, Young Master Heir, then... then may she be cursed with boils on her head and festering sores on her feet, and may she suffer a horrible death!" Having blurted it all out in one breath, Stone quickly pressed his forehead to the ground.

Xiao Yu glared down at the prostrate Stone. "Say that again!"

Not daring to lift his head, Stone repeated, "Miss Gu said that if she ever harbored any improper feelings for you, Young Master Heir, then... then may she be cursed with boils on her head and festering sores on her feet, and may she suffer a horrible death!"

The words had barely left his mouth when, with a resounding CRACK, the huanghuali rosewood table shattered to pieces.

A table leg flew up and struck Stone’s arm, but he didn’t move a muscle.

After shattering the table, Xiao Yu stormed out of the courtyard like a gust of wind.
