Chapter 176: Chapter 176: If Two Come, I’ll Kill a Pair

After carrying the "mad sheep" home, Xiaqing was about to clean the sheep pen when the Sheep Leader charged at her.

Xiaqing dodged, grabbed the Sheep Leader’s spiral horn with her left hand to stop it from wrecking the sheep pen, and said, "You want a fight?"

"MOO!" The Sheep Leader struggled fiercely, furious that Xiaqing had someone send the Wolf Group away. Anger meant it was time to fight!

Xiaqing was happy to oblige. "Fine. Let’s do it. Come on!"

’A fight would be the perfect way to confirm your madness.’

They couldn’t fight at home, or they’d have to rebuild everything afterward. Xiaqing ran ahead with the Sheep Leader chasing behind. The human and the sheep started brawling as soon as they left the village. Even though one had a wounded face and the other an injured hand, they still made a huge commotion.

Chen Cheng watched the human and sheep send each other flying with rams and kicks, and asked in a low voice, "Brother, what should we do?"

What do you mean, what should we do? Chen Zheng continued walking toward the village. "You think you’re strong enough to stop two hot-tempered High Level Strength Evolvers? Of course we’re going to carry out our mission!"

Chen Cheng said, "Oh," then turned and asked Guan Tong, "Brother Tong, aren’t you going to go get some practice in?"

Guan Tong, a Strength Evolver, glared at Chen Cheng.

’Can’t you tell I’m obviously not in the same weight class as those two? I don’t think you want me to get some practice, you just want to see me get my ass kicked!’

"Right, the Evolutionary Sheep has started attacking Lord No. 3. It’s a huge commotion. Roger, moving out now." A member of the Su Feng Team on surveillance duty outside the Third Territory waved a hand, signaling for a person nearby to follow him.

’This is what they call a huge commotion?’

Tang Huai, who was returning to the Second Territory after a full meal, rolled his eyes dramatically. The human and the sheep were already holding back today, okay? He figured the sheep had gone nuts, and Xiaqing couldn’t bring herself to be ruthless.

Following Xiaqing’s instructions, Hu Zifeng moved the three wolves into an abandoned cave in the Wild Boar Breeding Center and installed a camera before leaving Zone 3.

After the Head Wolf reached the cave and smashed the camera with a single pounce and swipe of its paw, Hu Zifeng reported back to Xiaqing. "The Wolf Group has met up with the injured wolves. The Su Feng Team has left one person outside the Third, No. 7, and No. 9 Territories, but they’re all masters of reconnaissance. You still need to be careful what you say and do."

"Understood. Thanks for your hard work, Captain Hu." After beating the Sheep Leader into submission, Xiaqing, led by the Chen Family Brothers with their olfactory evolution, thoroughly cleansed the sheep pen and surrounding area of the wolves’ scent. Then, she picked a basket of vegetables and escorted them out of the Third Territory through the West Buffer Forest.

On the way, Guan Tong asked quietly, "Sister Qing, is your right hand okay?"

Xiaqing had been trying to use her left hand for everything, which had caught Guan Tong’s attention.

"It’s fine. I just trained too hard, so it’s a bit sore."

Of course, Xiaqing wouldn’t admit she was injured. Even with the Olfactory Evolutionaries present, she was wearing a Protective Suit and gloves. She figured they shouldn’t be able to smell the blood.

As she was heading back after seeing them off, Xiaqing overheard a member of the Su Feng Team, who was lying prone in the isolation belt, whispering, "Seven members of Hu Zifeng’s team have left the Third Territory. Now, only Hu Zifeng’s team of three and Lord No. 3 are inside the territory."

"Don’t make any rash moves. Hu Zifeng’s marksmanship isn’t bad. Lord No. 3 has a gun and grenades. It wouldn’t even be illegal for her to kill us inside the Third Territory."

"Of course. Without that, what else could a woman rely on to make men work and guard her house for her?"

After speaking, the man let out a lewd laugh, not caring at all if he was overheard.

Xiaqing’s expression remained unchanged as she continued walking back.

After the Natural Disaster, social order collapsed and moral boundaries vanished. The strong did as they pleased, while the weak were bullied at will.

If she got angry and acted rashly over a couple of sentences like that, she wouldn’t have survived this long.

Xiaqing had long known what kind of trash most of the Su Feng Team members were. She had a score to settle with Su Feng’s Tang Zhengsu for her father’s murder. Before she was strong enough to kill Tang Zhengsu, she laid low. Once she was strong enough, she would strike a fatal blow, retreat immediately, and go back to living her quiet life, laying low once more.

The wolves were sent away, the spring was sealed tight, and the territory was cleaned up. Xiaqing didn’t let the surveillance bother her. After bringing the chicks and goslings home and putting them in the cellar, Xiaqing went about her evening as usual: making dinner, listening to the radio for the weather forecast and farming knowledge, and then turning on the Lord channel. She listened to the other Lords share how "friendly" the people from the Su Feng Team who were looking for the Pangolins had been today, and answered their questions.

"Yes, my sheep was agitated. Its mood is a little unstable, but I’ve already given it medicine."

Zhao Ze expressed his concern. "Xiaqing, your sheep isn’t going to lose control and run into my territory, is it?"

Xiaqing replied, "I’ll keep it under control. If by any chance it does charge into Territory No. 4, please notify me immediately, Brother Zhao. I will provide double compensation for any damage it causes to Territory No. 4. I just ask that you don’t harm my sheep."

Before Zhao Ze could say anything, Tang Huai immediately chimed in, "Xiaqing, you’re guarding your ’mad’ sheep like it’s a treasure, while we’ve lost two precious Pangolins and are about to go mad with worry. Please grant us permission to enter the Third Territory to search for the Pangolins."

Xiaqing’s voice was as cold as ice shards. "I don’t care how precious your Pangolins are. You’ve already provoked my sheep and made it sick, and now you want to enter my territory? If one of you dares to come, I’ll kill one. If two of you dare to come, I’ll kill a pair!"

Tang Huai...

Everyone...

After turning off the walkie-talkie, Xiaqing looked at the Sheep Leader lying on the tatami mat next to her, its head turned to face the wall, ignoring her. She felt a little like laughing. "Boss, you weigh several hundred pounds. Why are you still acting like a child?"

The Sheep Leader remained motionless, sulking. Xiaqing went over and rubbed its head. "Don’t worry. I’m a person who honors my agreements. I won’t break my promise."

Hu Zifeng, who had remained on Mountain No. 49 to monitor the Wolf Group, sent an update. "The Wolf Group hasn’t moved the three injured wolves. They’re still in the Zone Three Valley."

The two injured wolves still had their splints on, and now there was another one that was close to dying from sickness. The Head Wolf not moving them was completely within Xiaqing’s expectations.

"I’ll have to trouble Brother Feng to come to the cabin in the Third Territory tonight to guard the territory. At two in the morning, I need to go to the valley to change the wolves’ dressings."

’Do the dressings really have to be changed?’

Hu Zifeng paused for a moment before replying, "Alright, we’ll return to the Third Territory within half an hour."

Two in the morning is when humans are most deeply asleep.

Xiaqing went downstairs with her medicine and weapons and said to the Sheep Leader, "I’m going to change the dressings for the injured wolves. Boss, you watch the house. Don’t let anyone break in. Can you do that?"

"BAA." The Sheep Leader bleated, standing up to rub against Xiaqing’s leg. Its call was excited.

"You little rascal, is the Wolf Group really that important to you?" Xiaqing smiled as she put on her Night Vision Goggles, fastened her Protective Mask, and opened the security door to leave.

During the battle with the Evolution Bird Group, Xiaqing had lost three Protective Masks—the Sheep Leader’s was smashed, and the two wolves’ masks were covered in vomit and unusable. The one Xiaqing was wearing now was a recent trade with Yang Jin. Its material was even better than the last one, non-reflective, and perfectly suited for a secret mission.

And what Xiaqing was carrying out tonight was, in fact, a secret mission.
