Family Cultivation: I Become a Mirror
Chapter 715 514: One Palm Part 2
The splendor was tiny like gnats and mosquitoes, scattering densely in the air before vanishing without a trace, only leaving behind a tattered piece of feather clothing gently fluttering in the seawater, the deep-blue palm print on its back still shimmering and glittering with flowing radiance.
The sight made Dongfang Heyun's smile on his face grow increasingly broad:
'Good... good... So, he deliberately took that hit and put the feather clothing on a clone. The Rainbow Mist serves this purpose... The Human Race is still sly after all...'
His smile quickly faded, and he reached out with his white, jade-like fingers to pick up the feather clothing, turning it over a couple of times, until he finally noticed a small seal character in the corner:
"Yang."
The script did not conform to modern styles, it looked more like an ancient character, and with Dongfang Heyun's vast age, he recognized the symbol, nodding in sudden realization:
"So it's a descendant of Yang Jinxin! No wonder then."
He seemed in no hurry to pursue Li Xizhi, gazing at the feather clothing gently and murmuring to himself:
"To think that the proud Yang Family has fallen to such state that they don't even have a single Zifu Monk!"
"But after all, they have connections in Yin Si... Even Sui Guan wouldn't dare to do much."
After looking at it for two breaths' time, Dongfang Heyun tucked the feather clothing into his sleeve, placed two fingers together and turned the pads towards himself, gently exhaling. Suddenly, a navy blue light shone bright, and he spoke softly:
"Heyun requests the honor of your strength, to follow from the manor, to walk through The Great Void..."
The sea water in front of him churned, boiling and dipping as if a whale had opened its gigantic maw, revealing a dark trail. He transformed from foot to head into mist and rose, merging with the speck of light at his fingertips, flying into The Great Void.
...
In the distance
The golden sunlight rose from above the sea surface, the world adorned with only gold and blue, a rare and beautiful morning scene, but Li Xizhi was in no position to appreciate it, coughing violently.
The mana in his entire body madly rushed into the rosy clouds under his feet, every bit of mana within his Sea of Qi Acupoint was also squeezed out, all used to drive the escaping light beneath his feet.
He didn't remember how far he had flown in such a short time, he just shakily pulled out several elixirs from his Storage Bag, hastily stuffed them into his mouth, and slapped a few talismans on himself that aided flight, albeit marginally effective, before finally having the chance to observe his surroundings.
"Dongfang Heyun has been fooled."
Li Xizhi could tell at a glance that Dongfang Heyun was a confident character. This move fooled him, the dispersed clones were more than a dozen, and since Dongfang Heyun hadn't discerned them from the start, he never got another chance to do so.
Even if he could use that teleportation spell, it's certainly limited; take too long to say the least, and he couldn't just teleport to him without reason or basis. Truly speaking, he had already escaped the dangerous situation.
But Li Xizhi dared not let his guard down, nor could he show any hint of pride—he remembered clearly this wasn't any real murder attempt, merely a punishment from a Zifu great demon. Dongfang Heyun did not even have a very strong desire to kill him.
However, the moment he wore a proud expression, or laughed out loud, things could likely take a different turn.
So even though it seemed like he had escaped danger on the surface, he maintained a cautious face, straining to fly towards the distance:
'If the Zifu doesn't intervene... Dongfang Heyun will most likely gather the Sea Clan to inspect each clone one by one. If so, it probably won't last long, but it's uncertain what will count as the end.'
He flew in silence, the colorful light under his feet reflecting beautifully against the blue seawater. He coughed twice, but then his pupils suddenly dilated.
The dark expanse of The Great Void appeared in front of him, the youth adjusting his robes as he stepped out of it, looking towards him with a gentle and graceful demeanor, softly speaking:
"Taoist Fellow, you have made a good calculation!"
'Traversing The Great Void! There's... there's no point in running anymore!'
He was greatly alarmed, the five or six talismans hidden in his sleeve were thrown out at once. They transformed into huge shields of light in mid-air, various incantations floating in the space, looking fiercely imposing.
But it was already too late.
Dongfang Heyun's warm and smooth palm cut through the air. Only the earliest emerging talisman managed to slightly block it in his hands; all the others were flung behind him. Dongfang Heyun gently laid his palm over Li Xizhi's lower abdomen, sending him spewing out blood, spreading a mist-like radiance.
Dongfang Heyun thrust his palm through Li Xizhi's lower abdomen, withdrawing his arm to see the blood on his pristine, jade-like palm swiftly transform into rosy clouds.
[Cloud Midst Golden Descent]!
It was only because Li Xizhi was most skilled in escape skills that, even in a state of semi-consciousness, he managed to release this golden light, his figure dissipating like a colorful mist, leaving behind three dazzling trails of color, and reappeared over ten yards away.
The dawn light in the sky grew brighter and brighter, as Li Xizhi forced himself to stay conscious, a rainbow light appearing in his hand to press against the empty cavity on his chest.
From the other sleeve, he threw out another talisman, the white light of the incantation hovering in the air, flickering on and off, followed by the crackling sound of ice crystals materializing above the sea. Dongfang Heyun had already passed through the barrier and arrived before him.
He once again unleashed that suffocating and oppressive spell, the surrounding spirit mechanism growing dense as they disrupted the spell in Li Xizhi's hands. Dongfang Heyun raised his hand once again, seizing Li Xizhi's throat right in front of him.
"Hmm?"
This graceful and gentle youth suddenly paused, smiling and blinking his eyes. The dark eyelashes were quite conspicuous in the light of the rosy clouds. Dongfang Heyun looked up at the sky and answered:
"The hour has come."
Dongfang Heyun slowly relaxed his grip and floated Li Xizhi, who was unable to move, in mid-air, then raised his jade-like arm and straightened Li Xizhi's robe for him.
After giving Li Xizhi a careful look, he realized something, and took the tattered feather clothing from his sleeve, already neatly folded, and gently draped it over Li Xizhi's arm, then nodded in satisfaction.
Dongfang Heyun took a step back very politely, bowed, and said warmly:
"I've carried out the Immortal Order to execute you and have been offensive. I hope you, Taoist Fellow, can forgive my transgressions."
Dongfang Heyun came all this way without even a wrinkle in his robe, smiling and bowing again, he said warmly:
"I am Dongfang Heyun, transformed from the first breath of the Dragon Lord during pill concoction, from clouds and rosy clouds. I share quite a fate with you, Taoist Fellow. May I have the honor of knowing your name?"
Li Xizhi wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and said hoarsely:
"Li Xizhi of Qing Sui Peak."
"Good."
With a single word, his figure dissipated like smoke and vanished with the morning light into the distance. Li Xizhi's legs gave way beneath him, almost falling into the sea.
Clutched in his hand was the feather clothing given to him by Yang Xiao'er, a garment with secrets he didn't have time to ponder deeply. Breathing rapidly, he quickly took out several elixirs and swallowed them.
After taking several deep breaths, he finally managed to steady himself in the air and descended onto a small island. Li Xizhi coughed out a cloud of color, muttering to himself:
"Not a bad guess."
Dongfang Heyun's arrival from The Great Void had truly startled him at first, but as soon as that palm strike hit him in the lower abdomen, Li Xizhi had already let go of most of his fear.
Dongfang Heyun didn't want to kill him; the disparity in strength he had shown before and after was quite significant, enough to breach The Great Void. It was now quite obvious.
If he had wanted to kill LiXizhi early on when he broke through The Great Void, why wait until now? It was simply because Dongfang Heyun wanted to inflict enough deterrent damage within a limited time. Having his plan figured out and almost running out of time, he had to go all out.
That being said, within the demonstrated range of his power, Dongfang Heyun was merciless, which was clearly a form of selection; if Li Xizhi truly hadn't met the standard, then his death would be just that—his survival or demise wouldn't cause any change for Green Pond or the Dragon Kind.
'This chance at life, I still had to fight for bit by bit...'
Despite this, with no magic artifact to protect his body and having taken a direct hit from Dongfang Heyun's palm, it was no minor matter. Li Xizhi slowly sat down, feeling the internal injuries caused by that palm strike and contemplated in silence.
Dongfang Heyun's spell aimed to damage primarily with mana, with a persistent invasion of azure mana within his body. However, Li Xizhi was not particularly afraid of it, as the [Colorful Cloud Thoroughfare] could dissolve others' mana.
Still, that palm strike had pierced through him, in addition to the injury from losing an arm—it was a severe wound that could not be taken lightly.
Sitting quietly, Li Xizhi finally had the opportunity to speculate on the causes and consequences and sort out his thoughts.
"He means to harm me..."
