Chapter 713 513 Dongfang Heyun_2

He went forward, leaving the Golden Formation shining brightly in its original place. Li Xizhi had already traveled several miles, disappearing into the distance, while Dongfang Heyun transformed into a wisp of mist and rain, following in pursuit.

Riding the light of the rosy clouds, Li Xizhi could faintly sense the changes in the three golden talismans, his heart slightly trembling as he quickly began to deduce.

'This person hasn't used the technique that just appeared in front of us, which must have some restrictions.'

'If this person were a Zifu monk, I would have already been killed. He is not quite at the Foundation Establishment level, nor does he seem like a Zifu monk. Instead, it feels like... it feels like... the Divine Skills enhanced by Mu Hai!'

In his pupils was reflected the far-off expanse of sea and sky as one, and recalling the moment Dongfang Heyun had appeared, he thought to himself:

'This person is unlikely to be of the Dragon Kind, nor human... but resembles a spirit of the wind or rain... how fascinating!'

To realize the strangeness of Dongfang Heyun, Li Xizhi had to thank Yu Su from Yuanwu Peak.

Ever since realizing that he would eventually confront Yuanwu Peak, Li Xizhi had been vigilant, learning from his father the approach of planning before acting. He thoroughly researched everything about the Yuanwu Peak members, from their magic artifacts and cultivation techniques to their dispositions and preferences.

Conveniently, this Yu Su had a Golden Cage named the Changfeng Cage, a treasured heirloom of the Yu Family, which contained five evil winds that obeyed human commands. Each was at the peak of Qi Cultivation and together could combine into a Foundation Establishment demon wind, a particularly miraculous thing.

This magical treasure was of the Immortal Grade among Foundation Establishment artifacts. Li Xizhi had specifically researched it, which is why Dongfang Heyun now seemed familiar.

'The tiger brings forth the wind, the dragon summons the clouds.'

Combining this with the demon's name, he realized that in all likelihood, it was a spirit cloud.

'Just as a mage relies on Maha to surpass the Foundation Establishment level, he relies on the great demon Mu Hai for empowerment with Divine Skills... able to move the spirit mechanism, manipulate talismans, and gather or scatter at will.'

Having made his conjectures, Li Xizhi made a decisive judgment. His mind calm, he thought to himself,

'How can I get entangled with clouds and mist in the sky? I should fall into the water! To make a plan!'

Dongfang Heyun, following behind, narrowed his eyes slightly, watching Li Xizhi plunge into the water and nodded gently:

'Ordinary people think I am of the Dragon Kind and dare not enter the water to fight. They would never imagine that one who refines the Morning Glow Qi could be so quick-witted.'

He seemed to be considering his robe, frowning slightly as he released mana to separate the seawater, then dropped into the water, creating a trail of bubbles as he dove rapidly.

Sure enough, as soon as Li Xizhi entered the water, Dongfang Heyun's speed slowed down slightly, though not significantly. Li Xizhi dove straight into the water, the light in front of him quickly fading.

Dongfang Heyun followed, withdrawing from his sleeve a luminescent blue bead, which he placed between his palms and softly exhaled upon.

"Puff!"

Lights from the feather clothing on Li Xizhi surged up, emitting a few spots of gray light. His face turned pale, and he suddenly spat out blood, his fingers forming a spell for quite some time. He brought two fingers together, whispering:

"Set."

His figure suddenly transformed into several images, which did not disperse but overlapped each other, layer upon layer.

"An illusion technique? How could it deceive me?"

Dongfang Heyun frowned slightly as another jade bead appeared in his hand, which he flicked with his finger.

Li Xizhi, however, suddenly turned around, the spell in his hand manifesting, middle and ring fingers bent into the palm, while the others stood erect, forming a cauldron shape with the overlapping illusions enveloping him, transforming into a vague, cauldron-like figure.

The jade bead fell into it and with a loud boom, all of Li Xizhi's illusions shattered simultaneously, his breath hitching as he counterattacked, throwing his hand toward Dongfang Heyun's face.

The Rainbow Shadow Clone technique was originally meant to confuse the enemy, but Li Xizhi knew that Dongfang Heyun was an expert in the art of transformation and could not be deceived. Thus, he rode out on a surge of rosy clouds light.

Yet magic has no fixed pattern, and though the clone could not bewilder Dongfang Heyun, it served as a receptacle for the Heart Cauldron transformation technique, resolving part of the backlash and fending off Dongfang Heyun's spells.

Dongfang Heyun smiled warmly and politely, watching Li Xizhi push the spells back at him. His figure blurred, becoming a heaven-full of disappearing clouds.

Li Xizhi had barely flown several miles when frost suddenly began to form beside him. Observing carefully, he immediately understood to stop. A white mist gathered in front of him, revealing Dongfang Heyun's face once again.

'Less than half an hour...'

Li Xizhi's mind flashed with this thought as a plump shield leaped out from his sleeve, rushing forward to strike at Dongfang Heyun.

Li Xizhi's Sword Dao and spell prowess advanced shoulder to shoulder, with his cultivation level considered top-notch, the only lack was in magic artifacts. While he cultivated in the peak, aside from that one type of "Morning Glow Qi," he had never asked his family for any possessions.

Qing Sui Peak was already poor, and the magic artifact that tumbled out of his sleeve was just a medium grade Qi Cultivating one, making Dongfang Heyun raise his eyebrow and chuckle, "I thought you were a descendant of Zifu Monks!"

Clearly, Dongfang Heyun finally discerned the foundation of Li Xizhi from this encounter. His words were as such, yet his actions did not slow down at all. With a pull of his hand, the seawater instantly transformed into a rigid barrier, surging incessantly, scattering Li Xizhi's spells into disarray.

And his hand turned into a knife, sleek as jade, slicing through the air. Li Xizhi barely managed to execute half of the "Golden Rain from Clouds" spell, shifting his body sideways to dodge a few feet away.

"Clang!"

Li Xizhi's feather clothing emitted an ear-piercingly tragic whine, as a burst of deep red blood light exploded in the deep sea, with his left arm being severed at the root and bursting into a burst of rosy clouds.

The feather clothing given by Yang Xiao'er was no ordinary object, its surface glinting with golden light, with many patterns responding immediately, exploding several dazzling golden glows, assaulting Dongfang Heyun.

A flicker of surprise went through Dongfang Heyun's eyes, he brought his hand back, covering his eyes to dodge the shining glare, while the palm of his hand showed countless tiny holes.

When he came to, there was only the sea water filled with moving rosy light left in front of him, along with the blood turning into rosy clouds, and Li Xizhi had already gone far away, the severed arm nowhere to be seen.

The trail of rosy light Li Xizhi left behind carried specks of red, clearly having used some secret technique. Dongfang Heyun's face showed confusion and he murmured, "Who exactly is this person...?"

Of course, Dongfang Heyun understood the intentions of his own master: if it had truly been a Zifu scion, then whether it be magical treasures or talismans or whatever tricks up his sleeve, he should have been able to last an hour against him.

But the person before him was rather peculiar, wielded top-tier intellect and methods, yet utilized inferior spells, and despite having a potent feather clothing on his body, the magic artifact in his hand was like trash, causing Dongfang Heyun to be slightly taken aback.

He paused and pondered for a moment, soon a smile appeared, he straightened his sleeves, immediately took flight, and transformed into a white light, chasing swiftly after him.

Ahead, Li Xizhi's complexion was pale, the blood oozing from his wound continuously transforming into rosy clouds, adding to the escape technique behind him.

His expertise in spells was not something ordinary cultivators could match; the Blood Escape technique was not truly exhausting his essential blood but was instead making use of the fresh wound and flowing blood qi to operate the spell.

As the leaked essence qi slowly gathered, he took the arm he held in his embrace and reattached it to the other wound.

'If it truly comes to a dire moment, I'll have to transform this arm into a spell.'

The sea here was gradually turning into an aquamarine-red color, Li Xizhi calculated the distance, and the Sect Spring Island wasn't far off. Dongfang Heyun had blanked for several breaths in the water, giving him the chance to increase his speed, and he could already faintly see the Formation on Sect Spring Island.

'No... that's not right...'

His face grew even paler as his thoughts flew, his mind beating several times against his chest, but his direction was increasingly veering off, moving further away from Sect Spring Island.

Even in this crisis, Li Xizhi's mind remained clear, repeatedly mulling over the Zifu Demon Dragon's words:

'Punishment... punishment... the golden decrees of Zifu Monks are no joking matter—if I were to hide in someone else's Formation, wouldn't that punishment be a farce?'

He tried his best to guess at the Demon Dragon Mu Hai's thoughts, quickly deducing like a flash of lightning:

'Mu Hai must detest Green Pond using him like a pawn! Yet I have mistakenly entered the territory of the Dragon Kind, appearing provocative, and thus cannot be let off easily...'

'Dongfang Heyun is far stronger than me; once pursued, my death is certain... if he doesn't want to kill me... it must be time-limited... or I must pay a great enough price to restore his prestige!'

'No matter what, I absolutely cannot hide in my own Formation!'

He clenched his teeth, the escaping light gradually deviating to the south, thinking to himself:

'If Mu Hai's face is tarnished, Dongfang Heyun is likely to start a massacre. I must not implicate Auntie!'
