Family Cultivation: I Become a Mirror
Chapter 703 508: Mu Mili_2
"Greetings, Taoist fellow."
The Li Family was famous for its swordsmanship. Li Xijun had not yet drawn his sword and the beast began to dread with apprehension. The two brothers stood in the air, manifesting the grandeur of a great Immortal Clan.
Mu Mili, who had been up against Li Ximing for dozens of moves, was unable to break free from the luminosity. His face was covered with red blotches, his lips pale, his heart filled with anger.
He could sense that his opponent before him had a lack of experience in spell battles and didn't know any powerful spells. Yet, the Immortal Foundation was frighteningly robust. No matter how he interwove various forms of witchcraft, just a single Ming Border was enough to suppress him thoroughly.
What's more, the Ming Border seemingly specialized in suppression and erosion. He could hardly escape; even though Li Ximing couldn't subdue him for the time being, Mu Mili's mana and vitality were rapidly depleting, increasingly ensnared.
"Ju Wu, hurry and assist me!"
Mu Mili had been at the level of Foundation Establishment for quite some time. He quickly realized that Li Xijun had just made a breakthrough. The heart that had sunk into despair was now vigorously reviving:
'It's not the Li Qinghong with the Mysterious Thunder Dao Foundation! Just a junior newly entered into Foundation Establishment... the chance for survival must be here!'
Mu Mili was instantly invigorated. If he truly had to face Li Qinghong, who was adept at capturing thunder and wielding lightning, both would indeed have no chance of survival. He urgently called upon the demon beast, Ju Wu.
This black panther-like demon glanced twice, spewed wind, and pursued. But in front of it, the youth formed a seal and chanted, his two fingers close together, shooting out dozens of streams of white vapor that pulsed with Kuiguang brightness, turning into a dense flurry of fine, pine-needle-like cold snow and gusts whirling toward it.
"Tch! You..."
This demon could only spit out half a sentence before the chill of yin air penetrated its entire body. White snow began to fall from the sky, and Ju Wu's figure instantly came to a halt. Li Xijun remained calm as he rested his hand on Green Peak and unsheathed his sword.
"Clang!"
Bright white sword light leapt forth; the Foundation Establishment Sword, Han Lin, that had been forged for over a decade, finally brandished its due colors. The slightly slender blade danced vigorously with fierce sword light, displaying a snow-like brightness.
'Moon Que Sword Arc!'
The snowflakes between heaven and earth simultaneously shifted an inch, causing Ju Wu to let out a cry akin to a wailing lament as it flung its short, stout hairy fingers toward its attacker.
Since his youth, Li Xijun practiced swordsmanship against the snow in the mountains. Now with forty years of experience, his sword was blooded in a single draw, filling him with a cathartic sensation.
Over the past century, many from the Li Family could perform the Moon Que Sword Arc. Li Xuanling had a natural talent in the Sword Dao, but sadly passed away early. Li Yuanjiao considered the sword merely a tool for killing, his proficiency in the Sword Path likewise not high; nearly everyone's Moon Que Sword Arc emitted a blue-white glow, all imitating Li Chijin's sword.
Only Li Tongya, in those days, held a Moon Que Sword Arc as large as a sail, his sword intent profound and mellow—it was truly his own sword. Now, with Li Xijun brandishing a patch of harsh and driftive snow-white brilliance, he had finally stepped out of the shadow of those few lines of text.
'Three Parts Moonlight Stream!'
With the longsword in his hand, he flicked three deceptively agile and cunning streams of white light. As Li Xijun wielded his sword, a slight melancholy passed through his heart:
"The sword canon is profound; one's entire life may not be enough to fathom it. The ancestor only wielded the sword for fifteen years before compiling this book. Such a genius is truly rare."
As his thoughts turned, the movements of the sword in his hand did not slow. The Tujun Kuiguang meshed wonderfully with the sword techniques, and with Ju Wu's actions restricted by the spells and difficulty in casting, how could it withstand the swordsmanship? It was only beaten until it spat out black blood.
Ju Wu was utterly petrified as if its soul was leaving. Being a demon beast that had been reduced to the status of a mount, it was even worse off than ordinary Loose Cultivators; it couldn't bear the sword techniques and cried out pitifully:
"Your mother's aid, Mu Mili... I'm about to be slain!"
On the other side, Mu Mili, who had just become entangled with Li Ximing, felt a chill in his heart and said coldly:
"Leave quickly, go find your elder brother!"
Upon finishing these words, he consumed several elixirs; his Immortal Foundation surged as he exerted it with full strength. He then took out a piece of bronze, his eyes turning red; he grabbed his other shoulder, and, with a crack, tore off an arm.
Before the blood had a chance to flow, he had already flung the arm high into the air. Amidst a flash of red light, it transformed momentarily into a fierce ghost with sharp fangs, brutally pouncing toward Li Xijun.
"Finally, some orthodox witchcraft."
Li Xijun simply let the demon creature run off, knowing that Kongheng and the rest were waiting for it, and watched the green-faced ghost with great interest as he drew his sword and stepped forward.
Although Witch Mountain is a legacy of witchcraft, everyone from top to bottom, including Duanmu Kui, practices the Zifu Golden Core Path. Duanmu Kui, suspected of having witchcraft cultivation, rarely taught these disciples, merely leaving them some cultivation techniques to practice on their own.
Therefore, most of the witchcraft used by Shanyue appeared to be a mix of half immortal and half witch, looking somewhat incongruous. Now seeing witchcraft of a decent standard for the first time, Li Xijun observed carefully.
This green-faced ghost had a mouth full of sharp teeth and was a full two zhang tall, with a fierce and ferocious visage adorned with various talismans. There was no fluctuation of mana on its body, instead, it had a faint green halo.
Li Xijun launched a few sword strikes and found that the green-faced ghost was rather pliant, like cutting through clay sculpture, quickly healing. It seemed even more fearful of spells.
He pinched the Kuiguang, and indeed the green halo around the green-faced ghost significantly weakened. He then took out various spell talismans, trying each one in turn, and quietly made a note of it.
While Li Xijun was silently testing on one side, Mu Mili and Li Xijun had fought for over a hundred rounds and were gradually losing strength. With a flick of his hand on his storage bag, Mu Mili took out several skulls and threw them fiercely into the air.
The black smoke from his body immediately entered the skulls, transforming into five or six dark mountain ghosts, whistling as they came, trying to move up through the "Huanyuan Border" to pounce on Li Ximing's true form.
But as soon as these mountain ghosts got up, the four ancient talismans to the left of Huanyuan Border suddenly flashed, and immediately, all the mountain ghosts were repelled. Li Ximing laughed heartily and said,
"When dealing with such filthy things, my Mingyang is not as good as Mysterious Thunder, but I'm still of some renown, senior, don't bother with these petty tricks!"
Mu Mili seemed to have anticipated this, but his face still turned pale at the sight, and he could only call back the smoke-choked mountain ghosts to his side, aiding him in resisting the grinding and suppressing force.
His condition was continually declining, having already severed an arm to save Ju Wu, and all his self-rescue techniques through witchcraft failed, soon arriving at a predicament where both mana and vitality were running low.
However, looking at Li Ximing, he remained calm and composed, bit by bit grinding away at Mu Mili's cultivation with the "Huanyuan Border," driving him into desperation. As he saw Li Xijun's sword about to annihilate the green-faced ghost, he finally clenched his teeth and formed a hand seal.
Several mountain ghosts swarmed up and struck a violent blow against the hazy radiance right at the center of the Ming Border, causing a loud booming sound.
"Boom!"
This Immortal Foundation was in essence one with Li Ximing, and for a moment he felt unsettled, with a feeling of constriction in his chest and belly, and the pressure and grinding force he had been maintaining finally slackened slightly.
Mu Mili was waiting for this moment. His entire cultivation, along with his flesh, instantly ignited, turning into a stream of blood light. With several talismans thrown at the "Huanyuan Border," loud bangs were heard.
Through a combination of multiple strategies, he managed to weaken the grinding and suppressing force momentarily, and Mu Mili wasted no time, risking everything to burst out of the Ming Border in one breath.
Li Ximing took a deep breath before he recovered, watching Mu Mili escape for several li, and chuckled. With a gentle wave of his sleeve, the remaining grand and bright border suddenly turned into a stream of white light that quickly gave chase, attempting to envelop the streak of blood light.
"Thinking of escaping now? You underestimate my Ming Border!"
No sooner had he released the Ming Border than Li Xijun, just to be safe, also quickly pursued, only to see a figure emerge from the distant clouds, pulling in the red light with a sweep of his sleeve.
Li Ximing furrowed his brows and halted, focusing his gaze, he was suddenly stunned. He could only watch as the person upon a white porcelain-gleaming flying shuttle slowly approached.
"This..."
The man looked somewhat weathered and older, with a gentle expression between his brows, deep eyes, and a long face. His hair and beard were white with streaks of grey. He wore a white cloud-sleeved robe and stood with his hands behind his back.
Several medicine pouches hung around him, and he held the red light in his hand, letting it squirm without breaking free. He looked on slowly and spoke softly,
"Ming'er."
Li Ximing was taken aback for a moment before he quickly knelt and said with a choked voice,
"Ximing pays respect to Master!"
Li Xijun immediately realized and followed by bowing, saying,
"I pay my respects to senior Xiao!"
