Family Cultivation: I Become a Mirror
Chapter 702 508 Mu Mili
Witch Mountain.
The Great Formation atop Witch Mountain was originally arranged by Duanmu Kui, a grand Witch Formation of the Zifu level. Alas, following Duanmu Kui's death, the Zhu Yue were eager to welcome Green Pond, and this Witch Formation was long since offered to the Green Pond Sect.
Then Jiao Zhongzi occupied Witch Mountain and re-laid the formation, a dark glow enveloping Witch Mountain securely.
At the foot of the mountain stood a field of bones; the Blood Pool boiled. The High Priest was kneeling on the ground, shivering with fear. A grey wind emerged from the mountain and gradually stopped in front of him, taking the form of an old man in black, his eyes deep, coldly gazing at the Shanyue before him.
The High Priest finally received a response and spoke with a mix of terror and joy:
"My lord, Xian Du was overconfident... defeated by the rebels in the six towns, all officials captured, with over five thousand dead or wounded, the rear army also broken, trampled upon by their own kind, all driven into the six towns, with the towns surrendering at the first sight of danger, and the enemy's blade has reached the North Court..."
This Shanyue, who had achieved Foundation Establishment, listened with an increasingly ugly expression and whispered lowly:
"Useless rubbish."
This person was naturally Mu Mili. He stroked his black garment and casually collected the sacrifices scattered on the ground into his pouch, riding the grey wind and rising into the air. He paused mid-air, placed a finger on his brow, and listened intently.
"Dahe Mingfang."
He was still cautious, listening carefully for a moment, yet discovered that the rebels had stopped moving a hundred miles away from the Royal Court. He could only curse under his breath and grow suspicious:
"Could someone be luring me out of my mountain? Perfectly estimating the distance of a hundred miles from my Immortal Foundation..."
With that thought, Mu Mili suddenly felt uneasy:
"In these times, as Wei Hao advances from the north, the world is stirred with unrest, and tribes of wolves and tigers lie in wait, my elder brother has not returned for many years, I must remain cautious."
Considering this, he planned to ride the wind back, to inquire in detail several times, but suddenly felt heat at the back of his head. The clouds in the sky abruptly parted, and a brilliant golden light fell down. All he heard was a loud shout:
"I have been waiting for you for a long time!"
Mu Mili immediately broke into a cold sweat, his figure blurring instantly as columns of black smoke emerged under his feet, ready to flee, and thought in alarm:
'Who is this?!'
The golden light was bright and clear as white stone bricks materialized one after another, locking tightly together, transforming into a massive gate of a fortification. The towering gate had two white pillars intricately carved, shining bright and imposing.
In the center of the gate, a bright light flickered, hazy as if directly facing a burning sun; its radiance surged out, cleansing the grey wind beneath his feet. Mu Mili was startled for an instant and immediately shook his sleeves, casting out two Turtle Shields.
Up to this point, only then did he clearly see that atop Ming Border a person was sitting cross-legged, brimming with laughter, his Taoist robe furiously flapping in the air, the light below illuminating the towns and rivers with brilliance. The young man laughed and said:
"Li Ximing has been ordered to wait here, and it has been quite some time!"
Li Ximing, who possessed the same origin of the "Bright Splendor Radiant Origin Scripture," had already spent time converting his mana. Although his Immortal Foundation was not as orthodox as the "Bright Splendor Radiant Origin Scripture," it held even more mystical might, like a great sun hanging in the sky.
"Li Ximing?"
Mu Mili had not expected it to truly be the Li Family, and in an instant, found it inconceivable, regretting:
'I've been too complacent!'
Mu Mili had indeed considered the possibility of the Li Family coming to attack, but in his wisdom, he believed the Li Family would naturally progress step by step, at least first dealing with the Yu Family and the Fei Clan, who lacked even Foundation Establishment, then the solitary Huo Luo Wu, and finally his own household.
He only wanted to safeguard Witch Mountain for Jiao Zhongzi and felt the Li Family wouldn't come so soon, thus he did not leave. Now, he fell right into the tiger's den.
"Damn it!"
He silently formed hand seals, and black mist billowed from the two Turtle Shields, each supporting one pillar of the gate. He felt a searing brilliance attacking his face, causing the skin to emit green smoke as if it might peel off. Gritting his teeth, he said:
"Your Li Family is truly cunning and cautious, assembling so many at the Foundation Establishment, and yet you resort to such means to lure me from the mountain!"
Li Ximing merely continued to stimulate his Immortal Foundation, suppressing him beneath the "Huanyuan Border," and softly spoke:
"Witch Mountain was once the dwelling of Duanmu Kui, and retaining even a fraction of his methods could doom us small Foundation Establishments. Elder, your witchcraft is profound; do not underestimate yourself."
Mu Mili felt as if he were stuck in mire. The light from the gate was hazy, causing his robe to burst into flames. Noticing that Li Ximing must have an Immortal Foundation related to Mingyang capable of suppression, and unsure where Li Qinghong and the others were located, he lowered his stance and spoke softly:
"All you seek is the land of Shanyue. Let me leave... I will withdraw to the mountain and clean up before never returning... there is no need for conflict and killing!"
As the suppressive force within Li Ximing's "Huanyuan Border" grew stronger, he was happy to delay further and asked:
"Answer me, where is Jiao Zhongzi!"
Mu Mili remained silent, as if aware the Li family would no longer allow him to leave, his expression darkened. He took out a Wooden Talisman from his sleeve and crushed it, speaking coldly:
"If it were not for my elder brother's absence, how dare you even look to the north!"
Upon crushing this Wooden Talisman, Witch Mountain suddenly shook, and a string of black clouds rose from its peak, rustling loudly as they soared upwards, heading straight towards where the two men were.
"Boom!"
The "Huanyuan Border" gently shook, and the black clouds halted and converged, transforming into a black-furred, long-tailed leopard, its eyes gleaming green, presumably Jiao Zhongzi's mount, speaking human language like a thunderbolt:
"Mu Mili! What trouble have you found yourself in? You're in such a hurry to summon me out."
Mu Mili only cursed:
"Idiot... the Li Family aims to take Witch Mountain!"
The beast was suddenly startled, swirling up like clouds trying to wrestle Mu Mili from beneath the Ming Border, but saw a cold snowstorm approaching from the east. The fierce wind and snow blew it out of the clouds.
Li Xijun, in a white outfit with a sword on his back, walked through the snow, his otherworldly features striking as he pushed forward a fierce cold breeze with two fingers together. The young man slightly nodded and smiled faintly:
