Family Cultivation: I Become a Mirror
Chapter 630 469: The Water Dragon Brings Rain_2
Tulong Jian hurled the Fire Bead, and likewise spewed a mouthful of fresh blood, his hand clutching his abdomen now covered in blood. He silently watched Tang Shedou vanish, his Spiritual Sense slightly moved, and waves of fluctuation transmitted from the Token:
"I know you're furious, but for the love of heaven, do not chase... You're too impulsive! If you keep chasing like this, will our plans still come to fruition?"
Tulong Jian stood in the void, the rage in his eyes slowly settling, transforming into a deep desolation. The black and red Token throbbed, fearing his impulsiveness and repeatedly dissuaded him:
"You have been benevolent and just to the utmost! That person... that Li Yuanjiao is determined to ensure Yu Muxian dies without a place to be buried! A vicious person indeed… Motherf**ker... such a person, had he existed in the near ancient times... might have truly stirred up great turmoil."
"Shut up!"
Tulong Jian snapped at him, his gaze chilling:
"Settle accounts with you once I'm out!"
Tulong Jian's face was somber as he rode the wind back, leaving only the flames in the sky to slowly disperse. Below the clouds, Tang Shedou at last began to emit a bloody light and quickly vanished amidst the sea of clouds. His Armor darkened slightly, black smoke wafting from his body as he rode the wind forward, his heart filled with both hatred and shock:
'What sort of thing is this! He's only been cultivating for a mere few years... Perhaps he is another Guo Shentong... Had the situation been different, I should've killed him before leaving! Now I've left a problem for later.'
Although he appeared bedraggled on the surface, he soon stabilized his injuries. After all, he had been cultivating for a hundred years, and his various methods were not something those younger Cultivators could compare with. After ingesting an Elixir, he landed on a mountain peak to rest.
Only now did he have time to lift his head and look out at the distant green rain, his heart extremely vexed, wishing that the Cave Heaven before him would never close, that he could stay inside this Cave Heaven forever without having to venture out.
"It's over... it's all over..."
His eyes glazed over, but then suddenly sharpened as he abruptly drew his Long Halberd, his eyes fierce, and coldly said:
"Who's there!"
A figure slowly emerged from the clouds not far away, clad in a green robe, a green flute hanging from his waist with a red string swaying gently. The middle-aged man donned a Taoist Crown, stood with his hands behind his back, and smiled at him:
"To see [Dispelling Cloud] in such a state?"
Tang Shedou's expression gradually shifted as he glanced at the man, saying in a deep voice:
"Shen Xi?"
The man in the green robe did not answer, but instead drew a Longsword, pointing it at Tang Shedou. His Feather Clothing emitted a green light, colliding with the white-golden light rising from Tang Shedou's body.
The flames in the sky hadn't yet dissipated, but another collision of Mana erupted into light, forceful enough to scatter the clouds and clear a vast expanse of space.
...
Tulong Jian pursued through the wind while Xiao Yongling descended, catching Li Yuanjiao and using Mana to search for his scattered body parts twice, piecing them together hesitantly. Xiao Yongling's face was dotted with a few drops of blood, looking somewhat forlorn.
Li Yuanjiao's body was torn apart almost completely. Xiao Yongling barely managed to piece it together with Mana, as the injuries left by [Green Ruler]continued to expand, threatening to turn his body into a blood mist.
Xiao Yongling channeled Mana with one hand, while with the other, he took out an Elixir. Born into a prominent family with abundant experience, he barely glanced at Li Yuanjiao before realizing that saving him was impossible, yet he still fed Li Yuanjiao the Elixir.
A golden light swiftly approached from afar. Li Xuanfeng hurried over with both hands blood-covered, his bones exposed, and several fingers dangling as if they had just been reattached.
The trump card within Li Xuanfeng's bow was unlike the Green Ruler Sword, being the essence of power he accumulated with every arrow shot, nurtured over many years. When unleashed all at once, it nearly killed Yu Muxian, the backlash almost crippling his hands.
Despite his injuries, he drew his bow once more in an attempt to save Li Yuanjiao, almost losing his hands in the process, hastily taking medicine before rushing over, his heart chilled and lips pale.
Although Foundation Establishment Cultivators were not as staunch as Buddhist Practitioners, they were still tenacious in life. Li Yuanjiao's vision blurred as he faintly heard the sound of Tang Shedou's mocking laughter, Xiao Yongling's rage, and Tulong Jian's anger.
He felt an icy chill in his hands as though he had been transported back to that afternoon years ago when Li Yuanjiao stepped down the moss-covered stone path, faint pale green rain drizzling from the sky, his hands equally cold then.
The current chill seemed warmer by comparison, his hands firmly grasping something substantial at least, enough to be entrusted to his ancestors.
"This situation was within my calculations, deceiving step by step, leveraging power to defeat Tulong Jian, launching surprise attacks to corner and kill Yu Muxian... I only fear that Uncle would blame me in the afterlife, accusing me of not choosing my methods carefully and acting too unscrupulously,"
The binding power of the Spiritual Artifact "Dispelling Cloud" had receded like the tide. Before him was Li Xuanfeng's face, covered in fresh blood, his hand holding the other's was also damp, his fingers barely touching the hardness of bone.
His vision was growing dim, the vitality fading away, yet he was barely clinging to life, tormented by numerous kinds of elixirs and medicines he had taken. Amidst the agony, various illusions surfaced—from his mother Mu Yalu smiling as she sat with him at a table to Li Yuanxiu reading with him, from the bridal sedan where Xiao Guiluan's lovely face appeared to the naive smiling faces of Li Xizhi and Li Yuexiang.
The stars in the sky flickered like lights in the darkness, a cool breeze swept in, and damp blood dripped onto his face. Before consciousness slipped away completely, he was taken back to a certain night where the stars became lights at the foot of the mountain, and the mist transformed into a tall figure.
Unlike Li Yuanjiao who always dressed in black, this person wore a white robe with a fluttering cape, the face young, eyebrows relaxed, seeming much more approachable than Li Yuanjiao, quietly smiling as he watched him.
Li Yuanjiao tasted sweetness in his mouth, his vision suddenly cleared, breaking the illusion, presumably due to some kind of life-sustaining spiritual medicine he had taken. Gathering his strength for one breath, a point of light emerged in his hand, faintly revealing a small snake coiling and dancing.
"Li... Wushao..."
Li Xuanfeng gripped his hand, clenching his teeth tightly. Li Yuanjiao's eyes were gradually turning greyish-white. The light blue rain drizzled down, striking his armor.
Li Xuanfeng bent down slightly. Between Li Yuanjiao's parting lips came a very soft, hoarse whisper:
"Brother... brother…"
Li Yuanjiao's voice was light and fast, Li Xuanfeng heard such a tone from him for the first time. His tongue stirred unclearly in his mouth for one last time, failing to articulate any other words.
The Qingdu rain fell within the Cave Heaven, pitter-pattering against Li Xuanfeng's black-gold armor. The middle-aged man covered his face with one hand without saying a word; the other hand, with a wound so deep bones were visible, gently caressed his nephew's eyes.
...
Wangyue Lake.
Autumn had come early to Wangyue Lake this year, with the colors of orange and yellow. Qingdu Peak faced yet another heavy rain, the incessant drizzle flowing through formations to cascade down the peak, converging in stone gullies and flowing brightly down the mountain.
Every brick and stone of the Li Family shrine had been moved intact to Qingdu Mountain, each block revealing its age, covered in green moss. The six large doors were firmly shut, the brass on them slightly tarnished.
Li Yuexiang, clad in a white dress, gently pushed open the door. Several lamps flickered softly within the hall, casting a warm, pale yellow glow. Li Yuexiang, familiar with the place, bowed and burned incense.
There were few who could visit the Li Family shrine. In previous years, Clan Elders barred women from entering, but as Li Qinghong broke through to Foundation Establishment, those voices gradually disappeared without trace.
She had just entered the hall when she saw a person standing quietly in the middle of the chamber, silent as if lost in deep thought, only turning around when he heard her enter.
"Brother!"
The man before her was Li Xijun, her brother who was always composed, able to remain unfazed even if Mount Tai crumbled before him, was for the first time slightly restless. He nodded at her, asking a couple of casual questions.
In just these few exchanges, Li Xijun glanced twice towards the head of the hall. Hanging across from the seating, amongst the rows of jade tokens, some gleamed brightly while others were dim, each radiating a warm light.
Li Yuexiang kneeled on the soft mat to the side, slightly raising her eyebrows as she looked up at the rows of memorial tablets, silently praying in her heart:
'Mother has also gone into seclusion to break through... I only wish... may heaven fulfill our desires... without any unexpected setbacks.'
Her eyes slightly closed, she had just started to bow when a very faint cracking sound suddenly echoed in her ear, along with the friction of Li Xijun grasping the hilt of his sword and his heavy breathing.
"Crack..."
Amidst the silence of the hall, that sound was astonishingly distinct. The lamps dimmed in unison, and Li Yuexiang's movements abruptly halted.
Looking up, the floor before her was covered with broken jade fragments and powder, the topmost piece of warm jade that Li Xijun had intently watched for months had burst apart, now clattering as it rolled down.
Li Yuexiang closed her eyes tightly, tears quickly spilling over, cascading down her neck, dripping onto her white dress. She sniffled and gathered the shattered jade from the ground together, unable to hold back a sob.
"Father..."
