Falling For My Alpha Stepsister (GL)
Chapter 205: Priesto Remind Angel’s Promise
The days following Lucy May’s arrival were filled with happiness, and the entire town seemed to share in the Del Rosario family’s joy. As the family’s first great-grandchild, her birth was a special occasion, and everyone was eager to celebrate the newest addition.
For Angel and April, becoming mothers brought an entirely new routine. Their days now revolved around their little Alpha, who had no idea how much happiness she had brought into their lives.
April’s phone was rarely quiet during those first few weeks. She regularly video-called her father and half-siblings, giving them a chance to see Lucy May grow despite the distance. June, in particular, was delighted to have a little Alpha niece. She made sure to call every morning and night, eager to see the baby and hear about anything new she had learned.
Eventually, June became their unofficial alarm clock. Sometimes, she simply wanted to see Lucy May’s face. Other times, she wanted to know what the little girl had been doing. Whether her niece was sleeping peacefully or resting in her mother’s arms, June always found a reason to call.
Angel found her sister-in-law’s excitement amusing, although she could hardly blame her. Lucy May was adorable, and even Angel, who had never imagined herself becoming so attached to someone so small, could spend hours watching her daughter sleep.
However, raising a newborn required more than love and affection. Angel quickly learned how much care went into being a mother, especially when she had to balance her daughter’s needs with April’s recovery.
She stayed by her wife’s side, helping her through the postpartum period and making sure she had enough time to rest. Having witnessed how much April had endured during delivery, Angel wanted to make her recovery as comfortable as possible.
Grandma Lucinda also helped them care for Lucy May, offering guidance as the two women adjusted to their new responsibilities. With her around, neither mother had to figure everything out alone.
Their home gradually settled into a new rhythm, and although life had changed considerably, neither woman would have traded their little family for anything. They had waited so long to meet their daughter, and now they finally had her in their arms.
Before they knew it, six months had passed.
To celebrate Lucy May’s six-month milestone, the family held a small gathering in the garden. Tables were filled with food and drinks, while laughter carried through the afternoon. With the little Alpha at the centre of attention, everyone seemed happy to spend the day fussing over her.
At some point, April and Angel handed their daughter to Katie, hoping to enjoy a short break while someone else entertained the baby. However, when April returned and could not find her little girl, she immediately went looking for her.
"Where is my baby?" she asked Katie.
"Oh, I gave her to Priesto," Katie replied casually.
April blinked at her. "You gave her to who?"
She hurried off before Katie could explain further, with Angel following close behind. It did not take long for them to discover what Priesto was doing with their daughter.
He stood in a corner of the garden with one of his nuns beside him. A large bowl sat in front of them, with six-month-old Lucy May inside it while the nun carefully poured water over her head. Priesto watched the proceedings with the pride of a man who believed he was carrying out a sacred duty.
April stopped in disbelief before marching towards them.
"What on earth are you doing to my baby?"
"Baptising her," Priesto answered proudly, as though it were the most obvious thing in the world. "She is a Del Rosario now. I have to cleanse her beautiful soul."
April glanced between him and the bowl, her expression darkening as another trickle of water ran down Lucy May’s tiny face.
"Angel, tell your uncle to give me my baby before I dip his head inside the sea."
Angel looked at her wife, then turned towards Priesto, who seemed far too pleased with himself for someone who was about to start a family war.
"That is even better!" he exclaimed. "We should take her to the sea. That is the old-fashioned way of baptism."
Before either woman could stop him, Priesto lifted Lucy May from the bowl and turned her upside down, holding her by one leg as though he had just come up with an even better idea.
"Angel!" April’s voice vibrated with anger.
"On it, Bebe," Angel replied, immediately stepping forward. She held out her arms towards her uncle. "Carefully give my daughter to me."
"But you are the one who said I could baptise and reform any of your offspring. You even said I could turn them into my nuns, I have chosen this one," Priesto muttered, looking genuinely disappointed. He seemed personally offended that Angel was suddenly objecting to a promise she had made years ago.
Angel stared at him in disbelief. "That was when I thought I was never going to have any. Give me my baby before April gets mad."
She lowered her voice, hoping he would finally understand the seriousness of the situation. Unfortunately, Priesto was not the sort of man to abandon his convictions simply because someone was glaring at him.
"A word once spoken cannot be taken back. Even Hannah, who prayed for a child and made a promise to God, kept her word and returned the child to Him... She belongs to my church," Priesto reminded her solemnly.
Angel’s expression went blank.
"Yo, I am not giving my kid to your stupid cult. If you don’t give me my baby girl right now, this field will turn into a bloody battlefield," she warned him.
Priesto narrowed his eyes, taking the insult far more seriously than the threat itself.
"Really, are you trying to challenge me and my religion...?"
"Grandma Lucinda!!!!" Angel shouted at the top of her lungs.
That was the one name guaranteed to make Priesto reconsider his actions. He might have been willing to argue with Angel all afternoon, but he knew better than to continue once mother Lucinda became involved.
"Fine, take her," he grumbled, finally handing Lucy May to April.
April gathered her daughter into her arms, checking her little face while shooting Priesto a murderous glare. Thankfully, Lucy May seemed perfectly content to be back with her mother, completely unaware of the argument that had nearly turned her baptism into a family war.
Priesto, however, was not finished. His gaze shifted towards Angel, and he gave her a solemn look that made it clear he considered the matter far from settled.
"She is already marked and belongs to the church."
"Dude, fuck off and go find something worth doing," Angel snapped.
She watched as Priesto and his nuns walked away, leaving the large bowl behind. When they were finally out of sight, she turned around, only to find her wife glaring at her.
Angel’s confidence disappeared almost immediately.
"Whatever you just heard was just a joke. Don’t take it seriously. Let’s go put Lucy May to sleep..." she said, offering April an innocent smile that did absolutely nothing to soften her wife’s expression.
While Angel took Lucy May inside to put her to sleep, everyone else remained in the garden, carrying on with the celebration as though nothing had happened.
