Falling For My Alpha Stepsister (GL)
Chapter 190: Angel In The Martinez Residence
Angel dropped Mary at the Martinez Mansion. Mary got out of the car, and Angel did too. She handed the Jeep keys to Mary.
"I expect to see my Jeep fixed and back in front of my house first thing tomorrow morning..." Angel said. Her voice was flat, her grip tightening on the key ring before she dropped it into Mary’s open hand.
"Okay, my men will send it to the mechanic tonight."
"Good... Also, maybe next time when you go out or something, do carry bodyguards with you so what happened tonight will not repeat itself... or do you prefer to be six feet underneath?" Angel leaned slightly forward, her jaw rigid.
"I will have that in mind... Good night." Mary turned toward the wide front steps, taking a step away.
"Hey, Mary..." Angel called.
Mary turned. Her heels clicked once against the smooth pavement as she looked back.
"Can you please not tell April about what happened tonight? I love what I have now, and I don’t want to lose it." Angel shifted her weight, her hands darting into her pocket, her shoulders bunched up tight.
"It’s not like you did a bad thing... All you did was save my life."
"From your point of view, yes... but I killed people, and it’s normal in your field. It’s not going to be normal to April... She might see me as a monster, so just keep your mouth shut."
Angel saying that really showed how much she didn’t want to talk about it. Someone once called her a monster when they found out about the things she had done for the military, and she chose to act like it never happened. Now it might be a threat to her newfound happiness.
"Okay, I won’t say anything... But how are you going to explain to your wife about the blood on your left shoulder?"
"Huh...?"
Angel looked at her shoulder and realized that she had been shot there. She had not even realized it until she saw the blood and touched it. Her fingers came away wet and sticky with thick red liquid.
Then she started screaming. Her eyes went wide, and her chest started heaving as she stumbled backward against the side of the car, hyperventilating at the mere sight of her own torn skin.
While the nurse was busy attending to Angel’s wound, the Alpha was busy blubbering like some child. Mary couldn’t believe her eyes. Wasn’t that the girl who had just killed people like they were flies? Angel sat on the plush stool in the foyer, her bottom lip trembling while the nurse carefully wiped the skin clean with damp gauze. Every tiny movement of the bandage made the Alpha kick her feet and let out a noisy whine.
"Are you sure she is the one who saved you?" Matilda asked, looking at the Alpha girl. She herself was an Alpha and was skeptical about the crying Alpha.
Mary sighed. She rubbed the bridge of her nose, watching Angel wince as a tiny drop of antiseptic touched her arm.
"Yes, Aunt Matilda, she is the one."
"Doesn’t look like it." Matilda crossed her arms over her chest, evaluating the thrashing girl with a cold, disbelieving stare.
After taking care of Angel’s wound and changing the Alpha’s clothes, Benny and Lola returned from wherever they had gone. The front door clicked open, and their loud footsteps echoed across the marble tile.
The moment Lola saw Angel, her eyes lit up.
"Ohhhhhhhhh my God... Angel is in my house! Did you leave your wife to come ask for my hand in marriage?"
She quickly ran toward Angel, aiming to jump on the Alpha. Angel made a very smooth dodge, sliding her weight to the right with effortless precision and letting the girl slide right past her, not letting the Omega lay a single finger on her.
"Lola, Angel is not here for that. And also, plan a funeral for Pedro. He is dead," Matilda said to her daughter.
"Oh, what happened to Pedro?" Lola stopped, smoothing down her front and looking up without a single trace of sorrow.
"He tried to kill your cousin, and Angel saved her by killing him."
"Ohhh my God... I knew it from the moment I set my eyes on Angel. She was a very strong Alpha. Too bad I met her before April. I would have made her mine. April is so lucky to have you... Do you want a second wife? I don’t mind sharing you with April."
Lola tried to hug Angel, and Angel dodged. She sidestepped behind a high-backed chair, keeping the furniture strictly between them while her eyes darted toward the front door.
"No thanks... Okay, I gotta go home and check on my wife, and I still need my Jeep tomorrow morning. Good night..."
Angel did not wait to hear any more. She just ran away like her life depended on it, her sneakers squeaking loudly against the floor as she sprinted straight out the entrance.
"She is so super amazing... Mother, do you mind killing April for me so I can marry that woman? Pretty please..." Lola said, holding her mother like she was begging for candy. She tugged at Matilda’s sleeve, pouting with dramatic flair.
"Lola, you can ask for anything you want. A pony, a mansion, a private jet, or an Alpha pack, but don’t ask for a Del Rosario. Don’t mess with them. As peaceful as they are, let them remain peaceful..."
"Okay then, I want to marry the other hot, sexy singer Alpha. She is not as strong as Angel, but she is cute and adorable. I will just manage her."
"Who is that?"
"CJ, Benny’s friend..."
"Okay, done."
"I don’t think CJ is for tran..." Benny started, her stomach dropping as she realized what her mother in law and sister in law were plotting. (Or Aunty and cousin in law)
Before Benny could oppose and try to save her friend from whatever they were going to do, Mary held her wife’s hand, smiling at her. She squeezed Benny’s fingers tight, drawing her focus away from the conversation before she could open her mouth again.
"And you, you don’t trust me enough, huh? Sending Angel to spy on me..." Mary said.
"Ah, ah..." Benny tried to explain, thinking she was in trouble or something. She swallowed hard, her pulse speeding up as she looked into Mary’s gaze.
"That is so cute of you, by the way. And also, thanks to that, you are not a widow today. You are stuck with me, baby. I don’t want an Alpha or anybody else. You are the only one I want... Come, let’s go to bed."
Mary dragged her wife upstairs to their room while Benny tried her best to save her friend because they were already planning to kidnap her wherever she was and force her into a marriage. Benny kept looking back over her shoulder with wide, desperate eyes as Mary pulled her up the steps, her mind racing with useless ways to send a text or warn CJ before the Martinez family made their move.
