Falling For My Alpha Stepsister (GL)
Chapter 168: How Does It Sound
The wedding day was getting very near. Despite wanting a massive, grand wedding for their granddaughters, the grandmothers ultimately decided to go for a small, intimate gathering, just the exact way the couple wanted.
At first, the older women had a completely different idea in mind. They had imagined a beautiful venue, a long guest list, expensive decorations, enough food to feed half the town, and enough relatives to make the wedding feel like a major family event.
But after seeing how both Angel and April reacted whenever the wedding plans became too big, they finally realized that forcing them into something they did not want would only make the entire thing stressful.
Angel wanted a simple wedding.
April wanted the same.
And neither of them wanted hundreds of strangers staring at them while they exchanged their vows.
The grandmothers might have complained about it, but deep down, they understood. Their biggest goal was seeing their granddaughters happy, not watching them spend their wedding day hiding in a bathroom because the crowd became too much.
Or worse, disappearing the night before and getting married somewhere quietly without telling anyone.
As for Lola Martínez, her bold mission to seduce Angel died the exact moment she found out that Angel was a Del Rosario. Because no matter how deeply influential her family was, the Del Rosarios were definitely not a family to be messed with under any circumstances. Even the most powerful Mafia families respected them and kept their distance.
She had seen the tattoos, the rough clothes, the ranch boots, and the way Angel handled the horses and immediately assumed she was simply another hardworking Alpha who spent her days around animals.
Lola had no idea at all that Angel was part of that family.
She was also extremely lucky because April definitely would have dealt with her personally if she had dared to come after Angel a second time.
April had been patient that day, but even Angel knew her Omega’s patience had limits. She could forgive a lot of things, but someone deliberately trying to get between them was not something she would easily ignore.
Thankfully, Lola seemed to understand the warning and stayed far away.
Angel, meanwhile, had already moved on from the entire situation.
She had just finished distributing all the fresh seafood down at the busy market when she branched off to her friend’s farm shop to buy some fresh, sweet fruit for her pregnant fiancée.
April had been craving fresh fruit lately, and Angel had already decided she was not going home empty-handed.
She walked into the farm shop and immediately spotted Carlos and Sabrina behind the counter.
"So, do you want to go out to a club tonight? Just the three of us together, as always?" Carlos winked playfully at his best friend.
Angel barely looked up as she started picking through the oranges.
"No way in hell. My girlfriend will literally kill me, and besides that, I have to stay home and take care of my pregnant Omega," Angel said firmly, picking out a few fresh orange.
Carlos leaned against the counter, looking amused.
"Come on, we should always come first before any other hoes in your life. Bros before hoes,"
Angel immediately shook her head.
"Well, it’s officially girl before bros now. And my sweet baby girl is definitely not a hoe. I’m the only one who digs her."
Sabrina looked at Angel with an amused expression.
"You lucky bastard. You slept with tons of random girls in your past and then somehow got the innocent one who hasn’t slept with anyone else but you..." Sabrina said, looking over at the Alpha. "So what do you actually say? We go to some cozy tonight and flex?"
Angel looked at both of them like they had completely lost their minds.
"No, that is just so completely wrong. April is pregnant right now, and I need to be right there for her always. I honestly can’t believe you two are even thinking of going to clubs when you have a young child at home. It’s totally shameful to think that you are both parents..." Angel spat out, shaking her head.
Carlos and Sabrina exchanged a quick look.
They had been waiting for this.
When Katie was pregnant, they had been listening to Angel give them advice about putting her first. Every time they wanted to go somewhere, Angel would remind them that friendships comes first.
Now, the same woman was in front of them acting like she had never said any of those things.
"We will never leave our Omega alone at home like that. We are just simply using your own exact words against you, the exact same words you used back when our Omega was pregnant, when we were busy tending to all her needs every single day. What did you say back then? That you should be the one who comes first before any other person because I’m your best friend. Now you clearly see how those exact words sound coming back at you. Absolute stupid and selfish nonsense," Sabrina said, calmly continuing what she was doing behind the counter.
She and her twin brother had been patiently waiting for this exact moment for months. They could still vividly recall all the annoying times Angel teased them mercilessly, and they were finally getting their sweet payback.
Angel just rolled her eyes annoyed, not wanting to admit out loud that they were completely right and she was wrong.
She grabbed the fruits she had picked out and paid for everything before leaving the shop.
There was no point arguing with them.
They had caught her with her own words, and Angel knew it.
Besides, she had more important things to think about. April had been resting more lately, and Angel did not want to spend the afternoon standing around arguing with her friends when she could be home checking on her.
When she finally got back home later that afternoon, she walked inside and found her Omega lying directly on the living room floor.
Angel’s heart instantly dropped, and she quickly dropped what she was holding in her hands, moving as fast as possible closer to April.
For one horrible second, Angel’s mind went completely blank.
The fruit rolled across the floor as she rushed over, already imagining every possible disaster that could have happened while she was gone.
But April was simply resting her head comfortably on a soft throw pillow.
She was fast asleep.
Angel froze beside her.
Her chest slowly relaxed when she saw April’s peaceful face and the steady movement of her breathing.
Only then did she realize how badly she had panicked.
April had probably just gotten tired and decided to lie down wherever she felt comfortable. With her pregnancy progressing, Angel had already noticed that her Omega could fall asleep almost anywhere these days.
Still, seeing her lying on the floor had nearly stopped Angel’s heart.
Angel quietly crouched beside her and watched her sleep for a few moments.
She was perfectly fine.
Just sleeping peacefully with her cheek pressed against the pillow.
For a terrifying few minutes right there, Angel honestly would have gone straight into pure villain mode if the absolute worst had happened to her girl.
