Fairy tail : Digimon Take Over

Chapter 709 - 709: Enchant: Dragon Roar

The barrier of the Adamantine Armor truly lived up to the name August had given it—

The Unbreakable Wall of Sighs.

The Aldoron God Seed threw everything he had at Erza's barrier, attacking from every possible angle, yet nothing could break through.

Every spike that struck the defensive field snapped apart.

"Impossible! Impossible! Absolutely impossible!!!"

Aldoron completely lost his composure.

Both of his arms transformed into wooden swords, and he began hacking wildly at the barrier.

Clack! Clack!

The wooden blades broke.

And inside the barrier, Cana, Ultear, and Mira had already finished gathering their power.

"To destroy the forces of evil—Fairy Glitter!"

Erza dropped the barrier at precisely the right moment, then drove the massive Adamantine Shield into the stunned Aldoron and sent him flying backward.

The radiance of the sun, moon, and stars gathered around Cana's raised right arm.

She swung it down toward the fallen God Seed.

Mira, still in her Flame Demon form, condensed a fireball inside the half-dragon-head armor covering her right arm. The flames compressed again and again until the sphere was no larger than a tennis ball.

Then she fired it.

At the same time, the magical crystal spheres surrounding Ultear vanished.

They reappeared above Aldoron in a wide circle, flames dancing inside every one of them.

Meanwhile, with all four of the other God Seeds destroyed, Aldoron's main body weakened yet again.

August immediately saw his chance.

"Now! Buy me some time!"

Laxus, Kurnugi, and Gajeel understood at once.

August drove his staff heavily into the ground.

Two fingers traced through the air.

Orange.

Crimson.

Gold.

Black.

One enormous magic circle after another appeared and overlapped, each glowing in a different brilliant color.

At the center of every formation was the clearly defined head of a dragon.

With each new magic circle, more sweat gathered across August's face.

But his hands never stopped.

"Enchant: Dragon Roar!"

The eight dragons contained within the Dragon Slayer Lacrima, seven more associated with Natsu and the other Dragon Slayers, and another seven tied to Diabolos all roared from within the formations.

The combined voices of numerous dragons erupted simultaneously.

The sound was overwhelming, shaking the mountains and tearing through the clouds.

Even Raizel and Helios stopped their battle high above the battlefield and looked down.

Helios stared in surprise.

"Humans... can produce something like that?"

Raizel was not particularly shocked.

August had previously combined defensive magic circles from all three continents when developing the Unbreakable Wall of Sighs. That had required integrating well over a hundred different formations.

Mercphobia watched August's spell with open admiration.

"To combine such complicated magic circles while simultaneously merging so many different forms of Dragon Slayer Magic... What a genius."

Elsewhere, both Natsu and Ignia froze.

"What was that?!"

Disbelief spread across both their faces.

"Igneel's voice..."

Wendy's expression softened with nostalgia.

"Grandeeney..."

Then she clenched her fists and nodded firmly.

"I'll do my best too!"

...

Inside Aldoron's body, a golden pillar of fire suddenly tore upward through his flesh.

The blazing column punched straight through him and surged into the sky.

The Aldoron God Seed had been eliminated.

Ultear, Mira, Erza, and Cana immediately escaped Aldoron's body through Ultear's magical water mirror.

Everyone fighting atop Aldoron's cities had already withdrawn as well.

The moment August confirmed that all four women were safely outside, he gave the order.

"Full power!"

Laxus inhaled deeply.

"Lightning Dragon King's Roar!!!"

Gajeel followed.

"Iron Shadow Dragon's Roar!!!"

Kurnugi opened his jaws.

"Sword Saint Dragon's Roar!!!"

Golden lightning.

A black metallic tornado.

A platinum-white beam glittering faintly with moonlight.

And finally, August's massive composite beam containing twenty-one Dragon Roars.

All four attacks slammed into Aldoron's main body without restraint.

The beams converged into the shape of a gigantic dragon.

Then they tore straight through Aldoron.

The combined blast pierced one side of his body and erupted from the other before continuing into the distance.

The beam stretched for well over a hundred kilometers.

Aldoron released a weak, agonized cry.

His life force began rapidly fading.

A hole more than a hundred meters wide had been blasted through his side, leaving only strips of flesh connecting the upper and lower portions of his body.

Cana raised one hand above her eyes and stared into the distance.

"If Aldoron hadn't been standing there... wouldn't that basically have been the world's biggest cannon shot fired at empty air?"

Ultear's mouth twitched.

"That was basically..."

Erza finished the thought.

"Etherion fired at nothing."

The words had barely left her mouth when Aldoron's gigantic body finally split in two.

Both halves crashed to the ground.

Ur and Makarov immediately shouted.

"EVERYONE, GET DOWN!!!"

The impact of Aldoron's colossal body hitting the earth was no different from a major earthquake.

The tremor spread across the mountains and disrupted battles happening throughout the region.

Fortunately, most of the unstable snow had already collapsed during the earlier fighting, preventing another massive avalanche.

Aldoron's sudden death clearly caught both Helios and Ignia off guard.

Their movements became noticeably more urgent.

...

Mercphobia's roar collided head-on with Ignia's.

Water and fire crashed together, filling the entire valley with thick steam.

Happy immediately seized the opportunity.

He grabbed Natsu and shot upward through the mist.

Then Natsu dropped from high above.

Flames wrapped around his right fist, spreading across the sky until the clouds themselves seemed dyed crimson.

"FIRE DRAGON KING'S DEMOLITION FIST!!!"

Ignia looked up sharply.

"When did you—?!"

Natsu's fist struck the top of his head like a cannon shell.

BOOOOM!

Ignia plummeted from the sky and crashed directly into the molten lava of a nearby volcano.

Scalding magma erupted upward.

Happy carried Natsu over beside Mercphobia.

"Did that get him?"

Both Natsu and Mercphobia stared down at the lava with grave expressions.

"Impossible."

They answered at exactly the same time.

As if confirming their words, the magma suddenly began bubbling violently.

Gurgle. Gurgle. Gurgle.

Then Ignia burst out of the lava.

Molten rock streamed from his scales as he threw back his head and roared.

"I AM IGNIA, SON OF IGNEEL THE FIRE DRAGON KING! I AM THE STRONGEST DRAGON!"

Natsu clenched his fists.

"You don't deserve to call yourself Igneel's son!"

His voice shook with anger.

"Igneel would never want to burn the entire world to ashes!"

Ignia answered without hesitation.

"And that is why he died!"

His voice thundered through the valley.

"All for his pathetic dream of humans and dragons living together in peace!"

"Dragons are the strongest and most gifted race in Earth Land! We exist to fight! Why should we need peace?!"

Ignia sneered.

"He was the most ridiculous Fire Dragon King imaginable."

Natsu's fists tightened until his nails dug into his palms.

His entire body trembled.

"DON'T YOU DARE INSULT IGNEEL!!!"

Mercphobia tilted his head slightly.

"I don't know why, but... he sounds awfully defensive."

Natsu punched the air furiously.

"Who cares?! I'm beating some sense into him!"

Mercphobia burst out laughing.

"Hahaha! Fine by me!"

Water surged around him.

"Let's go, Natsu!"

Ignia roared in fury.

"ARROGANT FOOLS!"

His wings spread wide.

Then the Fire Dragon God charged straight toward Natsu and Mercphobia.
