Chapter 335: You have my support

Now standing beside Viserra, Noah quietly wondered what he should say next.

’Should I tell her there’s nothing between Lyria and me and clear up the misunderstanding?’

Before he could decide, Viserra broke the silence. "To be honest, I have nothing to do with the matter. It is your life, after all. Though it’s very bad situation for a exiled son and a daughter of another duke to be in relationship."

She paused for a moment before continuing. "And you should know that my brother seems to have some interest in Lyria Sunweave."

Noah’s eyes widened slightly.

’Wait...Is she worried for her brother and want me to leave Lyria? When did she start caring about her brother’s love life?’

As far as he remembered, Viserra and Justinian were half-siblings born to different mothers. They were members of the same imperial family, but they had never appeared particularly close.

’Something feels strange about this.’

Rather than wait for her to explain further, Noah decided to speak first. "So, Senior... are you asking me to stay away from Lyria?"

Viserra raised an eyebrow. Then a soft chuckle escaped her lips. "What? Why would I want that? I am not some evil woman."

A smile slowly bloomed across her face. "Quite the opposite. I am telling you not to fear my brother."

Her silver eyes narrowed slightly with amusement. "You have my support. Do not leave her."

Noah blinked.

’Yep. This is how it should be. She doesn’t like her brother. She definitely hate him.’

In fact, she seemed almost delighted by the fact that the woman Justinian had taken an interest in already had someone close to her, maybe have lover.

Noah deliberately widened his eyes. "You... you really mean that?"

"Of course."

Viserra’s smile remained. "Do you doubt the word of a member of the imperial family?"

"Of course not." Noah immediately bowed. "I am deeply grateful that you are willing to support me."

But he was also confused. ’Should I pretend that Lyria and I are already in a relationship? No...’

That would be too risky. There was no need to create another unnecessary complication, especially with someone as cunning as Viserra.

’I’ll tell her a half-truth instead. I don’t want to create unnecessary trouble with the princess either.’

Noah straightened his posture.

"But, Senior..."

"Yes?"

"There has been a misunderstanding between Lyria and me... and, well, among the students."

Viserra frowned slightly. "What misunderstanding?"

"The truth is..." Noah hesitated. He lowered his gaze, as though struggling to find the right words. "Lyria and I are not in a relationship."

Silence.

Viserra’s expression froze. She slowly uncrossed her arms. Then she looked directly at Noah. "You two are not in a relationship?"

"Yes." He replied.

Her eyes narrowed. "Then how could you act so intimately with her? You touched her and held her in front of everyone."

Her voice had become colder. The amusement and delight that had been present only moments ago disappeared almost instantly.

"There was a reason."

"Then explain." She ask for explanation.

Noah took a small breath. "You see, I am very close to Lyria, but only as a friend. She trusts me, and because of that, she doesn’t mind normal physical contact between us."

He paused. "But..."

Noah’s expression became slightly embarrassed. "I... I actually love her."

As he said those words, he deliberately avoided Viserra’s eyes. A faint flush appeared on his cheeks.

Viserra stared at him. The coldness in her silver eyes slowly disappeared. "You love her..."

"Yes."

Noah nodded. "That day, His Highness Prince Justinian was showing a great deal of interest in Lyria."

He lowered his head slightly. "And, well..."

His voice became quieter. "I became jealous."

Viserra’s eyebrows rose.

"So I intervened. That’s why I held her like that."

"Oh..."

Her expression softened. "So that’s what happened."

"Yes."

Noah gave an awkward smile.

"I... I’ve been trying to express my feelings to Lyria through my actions. I think she has already noticed how I feel, but she hasn’t given me an answer yet. And that day she didn’t push me away."

He lowered his gaze again. "It seems she is confused about her own feelings as well."

Viserra fell silent. She crossed her arms once again and began thinking deeply about what Noah had just told her.

Meanwhile, Noah maintained the expression of a young man desperately trying to win the heart of the woman he loved.

Inside, however, ’Good. Good. This should be enough. I was worried she might ask me to stay close with Lyria, don’t hide it or do something that could provoke Justinian even further. But with this explanation, there shouldn’t be any problem. At least... I hope so.’

After several seconds, Viserra finally spoke. "Hmm..."

A faint smile returned to her lips. "Interesting."

She looked at Noah. "Regardless, you have my support. Do not stop pursuing the girl you love simply because of Justinian. And you have changed a lot, also you are at second rank in first year. That’s amazing achievement."

Noah immediately nodded. "Yes, Senior. I won’t. And thanks for compliment."

A polite smile appeared on his face. ’It worked.’

Noah inwardly breathed a sigh of relief. ’’I guess that’s all she wanted to talk about.’

He had expected the First Princess to summon him for something important or perhaps some serious political matter. And Noah was bad at politics, that’s for sure.

Instead, they had spent their time discussing his supposed relationship with Lyria.

’What a strange conversation.’

Noah was about to say something when Viserra suddenly spoke again.

"By the way..." She smiled. "There is something else I wanted to ask you."

Noah paused.

"Yes?"

"Tell me about Damien Ashworth."

Viserra’s smile remained as she looked directly at him. "Your friend and classmate."

Noah’s expression remained calm, but his eyes narrowed slightly.

"I already know about him. After all, he holds the first rank among the first-year students."

She paused briefly. "But I want to know more about him from someone who is actually close to him."

Noah sighed inwardly. ’Well, well, well... Here it comes. The protagonist is attracting attention from another important character for absolutely no reason.’

He resisted the urge to sigh aloud. "Of course."

Noah smiled politely. "What would you like to know about him?"
