Chapter 783: Despair
Chapter 783: Despair
Before he could say anything more, the Conquerors surroundings them roared.
Attacks so powerful that Neo couldn’t survive even their aftershocks erupted.
They were dazzling.
Seeing so many powerful beings in so great numbers made Neo feel like an ant.
He had thought that now his only enemies were Supremes.
But in the Cosmos, where infinite universes existed, even if only 1% universes had a Conqueror, it made their numbers far beyond Neo’s expectations.
Neo gritted his teeth.
He refused to die without fighting back.
As for Veydran’s offer, he didn’t even think about it.
At that moment, the waves of power rolling off from Ultris solidified.
The Heavenbreaker didn’t even move.
Yet he stopped time.
For.
All.
Conquerors.
The high and mighty beings and their attacks were stuck frozen.
Veydran might have been able to move, but he didn’t.
He just watched Neo and Ultris, showing no sign of interference as long as time was wasted.
Ultris walked towards Neo.
A swirling mass of unknown but familiar flames materialized above his palm.
They revolved around each other, like planets around a star.
Ultris pushed them into Neo’s abdomen, or where his abdomen would be if he had his body.
Neo froze, unable to resist at all.
Then, to his shock, the flames entered his Cosmos.
“Those are the remaining fragments of my sister. Tell her, I’m sorry for not being able to save her yet,” Ultris said, his voice no longer ferocious.
It was instead filled with wisdom of someone who had lived and seen far too many things.
“Don’t combine the fragments until you do something about the curse. Or Apollyon would be able to manifest into your Cosmos. As for your father, I’ve returned the fragment that was reincarnating. The other fragments are with Apollyon. Your father was too dangerous to be left as if, so Apollyon kept him close.”
True to his words, Neo could feel one different Life Flame among the ones that he had put inside Neo’s Cosmos.
Neo believed that it was Hades’ Life Flame.
Ultris turned to Julie.
“Take him to the True Blessed Lands. Apollyon won’t be able to rampage there. It will bring him some time.”
Julie nodded with a hardened face.
“What are you doing?” Neo asked, his gaze trembling.
The way Ultris was speaking…. It was as if this was the last time they would meet.
Ultris grinned and patted Neo’s shoulder.
“Don’t worry. I will damage their forces and Apollyon enough that you would have an easier time for the future.”
His smile faded and he said,
“I apologize for everything you went through until now. I know you hate me for it. And I won’t offer any excuses. I will only hope that you don’t blame Julie and others too much. They did what they had to.”
Neo’s gaze trembled fiercely.
He clenched his fists.
This Ultris was nothing like he had heard about. He wasn’t like the Berserker he had seen.
“Stop acting like you are dying old man. You are not allowed to die until I can punch you for everything you’ve done to me.”
“Hahaha, waiting for that would be too hard given the current circumstances,” Ultris chuckled. His smile full of complicated emotions. “Anyway, I’m sorry. I won’t be able to teach you to live.”
The trembling of the Golden Threads intensified.
The owner of the Golden Throne was almost there.
“Well, then, goodbye—”
Ultris flicked his finger again.
Neo’s figure blurred and turned into a streak of light.
He was thrown somewhere at a high speed.
Surroundings moved at such a high speed that he could see nothing.
The sheer speed was making him feel like he was being stretched to infinity.
Neo gritted his teeth.
Things were happening to fast.
But he wasn’t going to run away.
He opened his path, trying to use something—anything—but he failed.
Even his Firmaments couldn’t generate energy anymore. That was the cost of Loan.
Neo’s face hardened as he noticed more and more things that had happened due to Loan.
However, before he could even think about them, he noticed three green motes of light following him at high speed.
They shot a powerful attack towards him.
Suddenly, a blue shield erupted.
It blocked the attack, but the force of it was enough to throw Neo away. His high-speed movement was interrupted.
He veered off course, smashing through the boundary of a nearby universe.
His body kept moving and smashing through celestial bodies.
Entire galaxies and stars were destroyed in the aftermath as he descended like a falling star.
Finally, he fell onto a planet filled with low number of life forms.
A deep crater was created by his arrival.
The whole planet shudder.
As Neo walked out of the crater feeling himself growing weaker, he noticed the surroundings.
An unfamiliar architecture. An unfamiliar race.
But the emotion was familiar.
Fear.
They were running away from him.
Screams. Cries.
Corpses.
Neo’s arrival had brought nothing but despair and destruction.
Before he could even speak, a beam of green energy shot from the sky towards him.
A blue white hand materialized from the abyss, and grabbed Neo.
It yanked him away from the planet.
The green beam hit the planet and…. erased it.
Past. Present. Future.
It was no more.
Neo’s froze.
Then, anger surged.
He opened his palm, trying to use his powers.
Trying to bring them back.
But it was impossible.
He was powerless.
Julie, who was flying while holding him, had a grave expression.
More and more green beams descended from the void of space.
She kept dodging them until an Eternal suddenly materialized in front of her.
A giant with six arms. Mark of Ouroboros was visible on his arms and eyes.
“Stop trying to resist, woman. Or have you forgotten what was the result of our last battle.”
“Galaxus,” Julie muttered, ignoring the Eternal.
The blue-white hand came out of the void again.
But this time, it was not just the hand.
Julie’s technique spirit, Galaxus, was a mass of swirling tundra the size of multiple galaxies.
It moved, forming apparitions of limbs and tried to capture the Eternal. The Eternal dodged with ease, but was forced to engage in combat.
