Extra's Death: I Am the Son of Hades

Chapter 758: A Weapon Made For Heavenbreakers

Chapter 758: A Weapon Made For Heavenbreakers

Thanatos POV

Few Minutes Ago (While Ilyana and Jack were still fighting the Alliance Gods)

Thanatos stood in the middle of chaos.

He clenched his fists.

’All of their Worlds are trying to weaken me,’ he thought, feeling the pressure closing in from every direction.

He had already deployed billions of his Stage 4 Time Worlds.

Every second, they shimmered, stretched, and folded into each other, trying to resist the weight of the enemy’s Resonance World.

But even then, he could feel himself weakened.

Each step felt like dragging his body through quicksand.

He glanced at the sky, watching the Alliance Gods floating there like silent reapers.

Their presence warped space around them, overlapping their divine Worlds to crush him from all sides.

’Should I use the Black Sun?’

The Black Sun was one of the most dangerous weapons of Ilyana’s kingdom.

He had devoured it already, and made multiple copies of it.

’If I use it, I’ll destroy this entire Resonance World… but the explosion will reach Ilyana’s kingdom too. Jack, Ilyana, the soldiers, everyone will die.’

He took a deep breath.

’There’s a high chance only I and a few other Stage 6 Gods will survive.’

He clenched his jaw.

That wasn’t an option.

He would have to fight with his own strength.

Thanatos raised his hands, and an endless flow of energy burst out from his body.

The ground beneath him cracked and reshaped as if reality itself was struggling to hold him.

But before he could finish gathering power, a calm voice echoed.

“It’s useless.”

Thanatos turned his head.

A tall man floated at the center of the Alliance’s formation. He had violet skin, six eyes glowing faintly, short gray hair, and a long black cloak that fluttered in the wind.

That was Argen, the leader of the Alliance Gods.

He snapped his fingers.

A black hole appeared between them.

Thanatos felt his energy flow toward it immediately.

He frowned.

The other Alliance Gods began to channel their power into that black hole, strengthening it even further.

’At least fourteen of them have space as their main element. And all of them are strengthening that thing. It’s created specifically to devour energy,’ Thanatos realized.

Argen smiled faintly. “This black hole was made for your kind.”

“…”

Argen’s six eyes gleamed. “It’s a weapon meant to take down Heavenbreakers.”

“….”

“Countless years ago, Ultris went on a rampage. After that, we created this weapon to make sure that if another Heavenbreaker appeared, they could be put down before doing the same.”

Thanatos didn’t reply.

He simply increased his output of energy.

Seeing that, another God, a woman with long silver hair and blue armor—Lurea—spoke coldly.

“You Heavenbreakers always think you’re invincible. Even Ultris thought the same, until he was crippled. Now it’s your turn, Nameless Death.”

Thanatos looked at her silently.

Then he activated a technique.

“[Turn-Based RPG].”

Lurea frowned. “A technique? You really think that will work on us? The difference in our existence is too big—”

Thanatos suddenly cut off his own energy output.

The black hole devoured the rest of the energy he had gathered, emptying his body of power in an instant.

’That’s counted as one turn.’

And then, something unexpected happened.

The bodies of the Alliance Gods froze. It was just for a fraction of a second.

But that was enough.

Thanatos disappeared from where he stood.

In the next instant, he was behind Argen.

He grabbed the six-eyed God by the neck and slammed him down toward the ground.

The air exploded as they crashed.

“Damn it!”

“He got the Argen!”

“Attack him! Don’t let him devour Argen!”

A rain of elemental and divinity attacks fell upon Thanatos, but he didn’t stop.

He smashed Argen into the ground again, raising his fist to strike once more.

Argen twisted his body and swung back, his punch shattering Thanatos’s arm.

Thanatos’s arm regenerated immediately.

The two clashed, their blows shaking the world around them.

Each time Argen struck, Thanatos countered.

Each time Thanatos hit, Argen blocked just enough to survive.

The other Gods’ attacks targeted Thanatos relentlessly.

His body broke apart, then reformed again and again.

His energy was still being drained by the black hole, but he didn’t stop.

“Get away from me, bastard!” Argen roared, blood running down his face. ’How high are his physical stats that he is still so strong under so many debuffs!?’

Thanatos ignored him.

He pressed forward, grabbing Argen’s cloak and forcing him back into the dirt.

The sound of impact echoed like thunder.

“Come down and attack him!” Argen shouted to his allies.

The other Stage 6 Gods dove down from the sky, surrounding Thanatos.

They couldn’t let even one of them die.

If one fell, the balance would break, and the Resonance World would collapse.

As they charged, Thanatos suddenly vanished again.

He appeared before Lurea, the silver-haired Goddess.

Her eyes widened.

“What—”

Argen’s eyes went wide. “Shit! He was waiting for an opening!”

Lurea was the weakest among them. She was a new Grade 3 Stage 6 God.

Given Thanatos’ strength, he could kill her in one blow as long as the attack landed.

Thanatos threw a punch toward her head, his fist coated with Death and Darkness.

But something went wrong.

His fist stopped midair, just inches away from her.

“What…?” Thanatos blinked.

Before he could react, the rest of the Gods caught up to him and unleashed a barrage of attacks.

The impact threw him back.

He crashed into the ground, smoke and dust spreading across the battlefield.

As he rose, his mind replayed that moment.

’Why didn’t my attack connect?’

That wasn’t the work of these Gods.

He was sure of it.

’Someone from outside this Complete World stopped me.’

’But who?’

Only a very high-level spatial manipulation could affect him if the attacker himself was outside the Resonance World.

And there were very few beings capable of that.

’The Leader of The Forgotten Suns?’

’No, it can’t be him.’

’Then—’

Thanatos stiffened.

There was only one person he could think of.

Someone who had interfered with him before.

The Ancient Dragon who sealed his clone while Laplace killed his friends.

“It’s you,” he muttered. “Velion!”

He stopped fighting and shot up into the sky at terrifying speed.

The Alliance Gods shouted and attacked after him, but he ignored them.

He gathered his power.

He aimed it at the boundary of the Resonance World, aiming to destroy it.

He knew the chances of success were low.

But he didn’t care.

He threw his fist forward.

The boundary cracked slightly under the force of his punch.

But then, something else hit that same spot.

A massive force from outside struck the same point, in perfect sync with his attack.

The entire Resonance World shuddered.

The barrier broke apart, fragments of space scattering like shattered mirrors.

The Alliance Gods froze.

“What the hell just happened?!” one of them shouted.

Argen’s six eyes widened. “Someone attacked from outside…?!”

But Thanatos didn’t wait.

He burst through the crack before it could close again.

The light swallowed him as he escaped the Resonance World, leaving the eighteen Gods behind in shock and confusion.

None of them realized that the one who had attacked from outside wasn’t one of their allies—

“Jack?” Thanatos froze, seeing a hole in another Complete World, far from him.

The attack had come from there, and struck the boundary of the Complete World Thanatos was trapped in.

Even Illyana, who was flying towards Thanatos, froze.

“Who is that…?”

Jack — no, the person in his body — looked at Thanatos for a moment before facing the Alliance Gods in front of him.

The boundary of Complete World was sealed again, and Thanatos was no longer able to see him.
