Extra's Death: I Am the Son of Hades

Chapter 759: Victory

Chapter 759: Victory

Author’s Note: Black Holes from last Chapter will now be called Energy Holes. It’s avoid confusing them with Black Holes. Energy Holes is a technique solely created to face Heavenbreakers.

“Who is that…?”

Thanatos froze as he stared at the figure that once was Jack.

For a brief second, he thought it was still him, until that feeling vanished.

The person who he had seen wasn’t Jack anymore.

The existence inside that body was something else entirely.

He felt his heart drop.

Thanatos turned to break through the barrier of the Complete World and go to Jack, but Ilyana’s hand caught his arm.

“Come with me!” she shouted.

“What are you saying…? Can’t you see that thing isn’t Jack anymore!? If we waste time now, I might never bring him back—”

“Stop losing your sense of priority!” Ilyana’s voice cracked as she pulled at his arm. “The Stage 6 Gods that attacked you will move in a few seconds. Just come with me!”

Thanatos hesitated.

Ilyana’s eyes were wet, her voice trembling.

She already knew Jack was gone.

And that was exactly why she couldn’t let Thanatos waste what little time they had left.

“Come with me to my royal palace,” she said quickly. “There you can devour—”

“….What?”

Thanatos pulled his arm free with a sharp motion and glared at her.

“You want me to devour her?”

He didn’t need to ask why she was taking him to her royal palace.

His senses had already told him what was inside there.

Wren Veycoris-Drasthel.

A former Queen.

A Stage 6 God whose power had long faded but whose existence still burned bright.

Ilyana’s mother.

“You do understand what devouring her means, don’t you?” Thanatos asked, his tone low.

“If you can’t devour her, then devour me!” she shouted. “Hurry up! Or are you just going to keep standing here until we lose the only chance we have?!”

She grabbed his arm again, her grip shaking but firm.

At that exact moment, two of the Resonance Complete Worlds collapsed.

From one, eighteen Stage 6 Gods burst out, charging straight toward Thanatos.

From the other came only corpses of the twelve dead Stage 6 Gods, and Jack’s body slowly disintegrating.

Thanatos felt his world being muted.

He could see Ilyana shouting something, but her words were distant.

He could see the Alliance Gods closing in, but his eyes stayed locked on Jack.

Or rather, what was left of him.

Jack’s existence had faded completely.

The presence that had taken over him was leaving.

’Shadow Supreme.’

His eyes turned cold.

He raised his hand, summoning a colossal spear made of Death itself, and hurled it straight at the fading figure.

“Give him back!”

The Shadow Supreme locked eyes with him. “You should worry about yourself, Hargraves. The moment you rejected the request of Space, you already lost.”

The spear tore through the space, but the body turned to dust before it could strike.

The weapon passed harmlessly through the empty space where the Shadow Supreme had stood.

Thanatos felt rage well up in his chest.

The Alliance Gods shouted for him to be captured before he could act.

Ilyana tried to say something to him again, but before she could finish, a calm voice echoed across the battlefield.

“That should be enough, fellow gods. I think we can take it from here.”

A ripple of Space spread across the vast emptiness of space, twisting the fabric of reality.

Velion appeared.

The silver dragon was smaller than most ancient dragons Thanatos had seen, yet his presence was overwhelming.

The pressure of Space bent reality around him.

In an instant, his power of Space pulled Ilyana away from Thanatos.

Then, that power began to seal him.

He tried to resist, pouring out staggering amount of energy overpower Velion, but four more ancient dragons appeared beside Velion, reinforcing the seal.

Thanatos gathered even more energy, his presence surging high enough to crack the space around him.

Velion just shook his head.

“This technique was created after millions of years of research. It was made for this exact day, just for you. You can’t break it.”

Thanatos gritted his teeth.

His energy surged like a storm, but the seal didn’t even shake.

He clenched his fists.

’Heavenly Record, create a counter to this technique.’

[Analyzing the technique.]

[Submitting the information to Primogenitor.]

[One Slot of Primogenitor will be used. Do you wish to proceed?]

’Yes!’

[Answer received from Primogenitor.]

[Predicted time until creation of “The Sundering Sword”: two years.]

Thanatos’s mind went blank.

Two years…?

That was too long.

He looked up, eyes burning with frustration, but it was useless.

His power was already fading, and his thoughts were slowing.

The seal wrapped tighter and tighter until everything around him turned still.

Thanatos had been sealed.

Velion’s POV

Velion stood quietly, watching the cocoon of Space surround Thanatos.

The dragon beside him, Kaelus, growled. “What are you Gods waiting for?! Take care of that one before she tries to help him!”

He pointed toward Ilyana, who was struggling to stand after being thrown back.

If the Alliance’s Stage 6 Gods were offended by the tone, they did not show it.

They rushed at her without hesitation.

Velion didn’t look at her.

His eyes stayed on the sealed Heavenbreaker.

Another ancient dragon, Kram, spoke softly. “Elder brother, Kram is curious. Won’t the Deathbounds attack if they sense we’re fighting the Heavenbreaker?”

Kaelus glared at him. “Use your head before you speak.”

Kram lowered his head.

Seeing his expression, Kaelus clicked his tongue and said, “His Life Flame is different. It’s not connected to the others.

“In the Great Net of Life, his Life Flame stands alone.

“Whatever happens to him, the information won’t be transmitted to any other Life Flames. As long as we don’t trade blows with him directly, the Deathbounds will never know he’s sealed.”

Velion chuckled quietly.

Kaelus frowned. “Why are you laughing?”

“It’s rare to see you explain things so carefully. You act harsh, but you dot quite a bit on our younger siblings,” Velion said with a faint smile.

“Kram thanks the elder brother for his guidance!” Kram said, picking up on the cue.

Kaelus just clicked his tongue and turned away.

Velion’s laughter softened.

“Come now, we’ve done what we came to do. The seal is perfect. Let’s return and celebrate. After so long, we can finally roam freely again.”

Kaelus crossed his arms. “And his true body?”

“I sealed that as well. My clone and three of our siblings handled it,” Velion said calmly.

He opened his palm, revealing a floating holographic image.

It showed a vast starfield and a spaceship.

Inside it, Nameless Death stood motionless.

After his clone was sealed, he had acted fast — placing his two remaining companions into his Cosmos — but he hadn’t been able to escape himself.

Velion’s clone and three other ancient dragons had surrounded and captured him.

The seal had been completed moments ago.

Kaelus stared at the image, frowning. “You’re sure it’ll hold?”

Velion nodded. “I’m certain. The technique was designed so he can never break free. ’I’ has given us his promise.”

He waved his hand, and both the clone and true body of the Heavenbreaker vanished into his spatial pocket.

The Alliance Gods were already finishing their work below.

The kingdom of Drasthel was burning.

Ilyana’s forces were crushed.

Velion could hear her faint scream echo before it was silenced.

Kaelus looked at the smoke rising in the distance. “So it’s over?”

“Yes,” Velion exhaled.
