Chapter 127: Heavenly Judgment Mirror

  • Next Chapter

The following morning, a faint golden light spread across the sky. The ancient Soul Tempering Tower stood quietly in the center of the Core Disciple area.

The stone doors of the special room had finally opened after fifteen days of uninterrupted cultivation.

One after another, the inner disciples who had finally become eligible for Core Disciple, had gathered in front of the tower.

But they looked considerably different from when they had entered, at least their auras were now much more stable.

Every single one of them had successfully stepped into the Nascent Soul Realm.

Long Feng stood slightly to the side. His expression was calm. His newly formed soul had already stabilized considerably after a night of cultivation.

He could clearly feel the difference between himself before and after the breakthrough.

The spiritual energy circulating through his body was vastly stronger. More importantly, his connection with his soul had become much deeper.

Soon, footsteps approached from the distance as Elder Dong arrived. His eyes swept across the gathered disciples and a faint smile appeared on his face.

He already knew that they had remained inside the room until the very end.

Elder Dong’s gaze moved across the group before it stopped on Long Feng. His eyes narrowed slightly.

’As expected.’

Sensing his realm, a trace of shock appeared on his face even if he had excepted something like this, since it take whole fifteen days them.

It wasn’t hard to understood that one of them had broken through only recently, otherwise they wouldn’t stay inside for so long.

And now seems that one of them was none other than Long Feng!

In Fact, with his profound cultivation, he knew that Long Feng had only recently reached the Peak Golden Core Realm during Inner Disciple Ranking Tournament.

Even with his extraordinary talent, breaking through from the Peak Golden Core Realm to the Nascent Soul Realm wasn’t something that could normally be accomplished in such a short period.

Before entering the tower, Elder Dong had actually considered the possibility that Long Feng might not succeed.

If Long Feng failed, Elder Dong wouldn’t have blamed him. After all, the Nascent Soul breakthrough was a major barrier.

But now, he had succeeded.

And judging from his aura, the breakthrough was already quite stable.

’This young man’s cultivation speed is truly astonishing.’ Elder Dong couldn’t help sighing inwardly.

He didn’t say anything about it. Instead, he simply smiled.

"Looks like none of you disappointed me."

The disciples immediately became excited.

"These are for you." Elder Dong waved his hand and a batch of robes appeared in front of the disciples.

They were different from the robes they had previously worn.

The material was finer, the patterns were more complicated, and the emblem of Azura Heaven Sect embroidered on the chest was far more prominent.

Recognizing them, the disciples’ eyes immediately lit up.

"Core Disciple’s robes." One of them couldn’t help murmuring in excitement.

Elder Dong nodded with a smile.

"You have all successfully broken through to the Nascent Soul Realm. From today onward, you are no longer Inner Disciples. You are Core Disciples of Azura Heaven Sect."

The disciples immediately became excited. They had spent years cultivating for this moment. Now they had finally crossed that threshold.

One disciple quickly picked up his robe and looked around.

"Elder, where should we change?"

Elder Dong stared at him for a moment, then his expression became slightly strange.

"Do you need me to find a room for you as well?"

The disciple froze. A few people immediately laughed.

Elder Dong waved his hand impatiently, "Just change quickly. You have no time to waste."

The disciples quickly realized what he meant.

They immediately moved to the side and began changing their robes.

Nobody cared about the Core Disciples passing around the tower anymore or the occasional curious gazes from the surrounding disciples either.

The moment they heard what was waiting for them next, their attention had already shifted completely.

Once everyone had changed, Elder Dong finally spoke.

"Your promotion to Core Disciples is not the only reason I came here today. Today, you will participate in the Heavenly Talent Selection Ceremony."

The surrounding disciples immediately became quiet. Several of them looked at one another in confusion.

"The Heavenly Talent Selection Ceremony?"

Their face could tell that most of them had never heard about such event, let alone participate.

But Zhu Yuan clearly recognized the name, his expression changed.

"Elder, is that the ceremony where the sect brings out the Heavenly Judgment Mirror?"

Seeing someone knew about it, Elder Dong nodded.

"That event?" The disciple’s eyes widened. Another disciple immediately understood.

"So that’s why Elder Dong gave us Core Disciple robes now!"

Excitement spread across the group. Elder Dong didn’t explain further. But the disciples who seemed to know more couldn’t contain themself.

"The Heavenly Judgment Mirror is a special treasure of sect. It’s said that it possess a special ability- showing a cultivator’s talent."

"That’s right."

Another disciple quickly added, "The Heavenly Judgment Mirror doesn’t merely reveal a person’s talent. It can also compare the results and determine how their talent stands among others."

The disciples became increasingly excited.

In reality, this event happens very rarely, which is why most of them have never heard its name.

This ceremony is organized only when the most talented Inner Disciple gets promoted to the Core Disciple.

Long Feng quietly listened. However, when he heard the words Heavenly Judgment Mirror and its ability, his eyes showed a faint trace of interest.

Talent.

It was something every cultivator possessed from birth.

Some were born with extraordinary physiques, powerful bloodlines or terrifying spiritual roots. Others might appear ordinary at first but possess astonishing comprehension or soul talent.

Cultivation could improve many things, but innate talent was something that couldn’t simply be created from nothing, yet there were also opportunities and experiences throughout a cultivator’s life that could change it.

That was what made the Heavenly Judgment Mirror so interesting!

It could reveal what was hidden beneath the surface.

"I have also heard that many powerful elders were also involved in this, and they can accept highly talented disciples as their own personal disciples," one of them said happily.

Studying under the elders was a great opportunity for all of them, especially for those who came from humble backgrounds.

With the guidance and support of the elders, their progress would be rapid, and they would no longer have to worry about resources in the future.

This made most of them brightening with smiles.

Zhu Yuan suddenly lowered his voice and whispered.

"But there is something more important in this event. Do you know which elders attend this event?"

Everyone looked toward him. Zhu Yuan was the calmest person among them, but if even he was that excited about something, it must have been a big deal.

And Zhu Yuan didn’t disappointed them as he smiled mysteriously and said.

"In addition to powerful Inner Elders, sometimes, even one or two Honorable Elders appear."

The excitement of their face instantly turned into shock.

"Honorable Elders?"

Several disciples couldn’t help exclaiming, even Long Feng’s eyes narrowed slightly.

Although the Outer Elders or Inner Elders were called elders in name, their power was limited only to the disciples.

In the truest sense, only the honorable elders could be called true elders, as their every decision shaped the very future of the sect.

They were existences beyond the Void Ascension Realm in the sect’s hierarchy, true pillars of Azura Heaven Sect.

For ordinary disciples, meeting one was already an extremely rare event. Having such an existence personally examine their talent was an opportunity they could only dream about.

Even Core Disciples rarely had the opportunity to stand before one.

The disciple continued excitedly, "If an elder takes a liking to someone’s talent, they can choose that person as a disciple."

"Not just an ordinary disciple either. If the talent is exceptional enough, they might even accept them as a personal disciple."

The group immediately became restless.

Everyone’s eyes lit up. Becoming the disciple of a powerful elder could completely change a cultivator’s future.

Someone suddenly remembered something.

"Isn’t Han Tianyu so talented because he has the support of an Honorable Elder from the Vermilion Flame Sect?"

The others became silent for a moment.

They had all heard similar rumors. That was precisely why Han Tianyu’s status among the younger generation was so extraordinary.

Now, they finally understood the value of having an Honorable Elder behind a disciple.

If they could obtain such an opportunity themselves... several disciples couldn’t hide their anticipation, even Li Qiang’s eyes were shining.

Zhu Yuan also looked considerably more serious than before, only Long Feng remained relatively calm. He wasn’t uninterested.

The part that truly caught his attention was the Heavenly Judgment Mirror. A mirror capable of revealing and ranking a person’s talent.

That was rare.

He wanted to know exactly what it would show when it examined him.

Elder Dong looked at their expressions and didn’t say anything. He already knew what these disciples were thinking.

There was no need to remind them. The opportunity was in front of them. What they could obtain from it would depend entirely on themselves.

"Enough." Elder Dong finally turned around.

"Follow me."

The disciples immediately followed.

They barely paid attention to the other Core Disciples around the tower now. Their new robes had already become the least important thing in their minds.

They were going to the Heavenly Talent Selection Ceremony.

For these newly promoted Core Disciples, that possibility alone was enough to make their blood boil.
