Chapter 361: Chapter 226: Bizarre Demon Fiend
"Looks like the sacrifices weren’t enough. This ’kindling’ is about to burn out!"
The Black Shadow cackled sinisterly, a hint of dissatisfaction in its eyes.
The offerings he required were still far from enough.
Only with more offerings could he restore more of his power.
In this dark corner, the Black Shadow’s eerie cackle echoed, as if it had traveled from the very depths of hell.
His eyes, like two balls of burning spectral fire, flickered in the darkness, radiating greed and dissatisfaction.

By now, Fang Yue had already led Lin Wan’Er and her servant out of the cellar.
’He’s not home. Where could that old man have gone so late at night?’ As soon as they were out, Fang Yue discovered the house was empty.
Fang Yue’s brow furrowed, and he couldn’t help but feel a little puzzled.
"What is it? Is something wrong?" Lin Wan’Er asked, noticing the strange look on Fang Yue’s face.
Fang Yue glanced back at Lin Wan’Er and said in a low voice, "The old man isn’t home. I have no idea where he could’ve gone so late."
Lin Wan’Er was also a little surprised to hear Fang Yue say that.
’An old man, well past fifty, isn’t at home this late at night? Where could he have gone?’
With this question hanging in the air, Fang Yue, Lin Wan’Er, and her servant left the courtyard.
「A quarter of an hour later,」
They arrived under the large willow tree in the middle of the village.
’There isn’t a single person in the entire village!’
Fang Yue scanned his surroundings, his brow furrowed. The village should have shown some signs of life, but now it was as silent as the land of the dead.
’This village really is bizarre. Perhaps its inhabitants have vanished without a trace.’
’It must be related to that aura I sensed outside the village!’
As a Qi Refiner, Fang Yue possessed a sensitivity to the fluctuations of the world’s Primordial Qi that far surpassed that of an ordinary person. Besides, if he wanted to advance his cultivation, he needed to refine four types of Exotic Primordial Qi.
’Since I’ve encountered one here, of course I had to come take a look.’
So, Fang Yue had decided to enter the village and investigate.
He never expected, however, that this seemingly peaceful village would be hiding such a strange and sinister secret.
Fang Yue took a deep breath, his sharp gaze sweeping over their surroundings.
With his current cultivation, his perception of danger was far beyond that of an ordinary person. He could clearly feel a disturbing aura permeating the village.
"Stay close to me. Something isn’t right here. I’ll get you out," Fang Yue instructed in a low voice.
Fang Yue immediately started leading Lin Wan’Er and her servant out of the village.
「A short while later,」
The three of them were back under the large willow tree in the center of the village.
’We can’t get out? It’s happening again. Could there be a demon here, too?’
Upon discovering they couldn’t leave, Fang Yue immediately recalled the Demon Wolf he had encountered back in Guangfeng Prefecture. When it had appeared, it had created a similar effect in the surrounding area.
This was a Talent possessed by some powerful Demon Fiends—the ability to distort a person’s perception.
’So, if we want to get out of here, we have to find that demon and drag it out.’
"You two, be careful as well. Something’s wrong here!" Fang Yue warned again.
Lin Wan’Er and Xiaohong were both intelligent. Seeing how solemn Fang Yue was, they knew the situation was dire.
They stuck close behind Fang Yue, not daring to let their guard down for a second.
The three of them moved cautiously through the village, searching for any possible clues.
Fang Yue remained constantly vigilant. His Primordial Qi Sensing was like a vast net, capturing every stir in the air and rustle of grass around them.
Suddenly, Fang Yue stopped in his tracks, his gaze fixed on a dilapidated house. Its door stood open, revealing a pitch-black interior, like a darkness that could swallow everything.
"There’s something strange over there," Fang Yue said in a low voice as he strode toward the dilapidated house.
Lin Wan’Er and Xiaohong followed closely, gripping each other’s hands, their hearts filled with nervousness and fear.
When the three of them reached the dilapidated house, Fang Yue went in first.
A blast of cold, sinister air hit them in the face, as if formless ghosts were whispering in their ears.
The house was pitch-black inside, so dark you couldn’t see your hand in front of your face.
Fang Yue released his Primordial Qi, forming a faint protective shield that enveloped the three of them and simultaneously illuminated their surroundings.
They saw that the house was filled with strange offerings—animal carcasses, as well as some indecipherable symbols and totems.
The three of them stared at the scene, a powerful sense of unease rising within them. The offerings and symbols all exuded a strange and malevolent aura.
Fang Yue’s gaze was like a torch as he carefully examined every corner of the house, trying to find more clues. He noticed strange patterns drawn on the walls, looking like some kind of ancient script or symbols.
"What do these patterns mean?" Lin Wan’Er asked curiously.
Fang Yue shook his head. "I’m not sure, but I’m certain these patterns are connected to the village’s secret."
A powerful urge to investigate welled up inside him, a desire to uncover the truth behind it all. At the same time, however, he knew that immense danger lay hidden in the village, and he had to remain vigilant.
"Let’s keep searching. There might be other clues," Fang Yue said in a low voice.
The three continued to search the house, leaving no potential clue unturned. Although Lin Wan’Er and Xiaohong were terrified, they knew they couldn’t back down now. They could only stick close to Fang Yue, hoping to find a way out as soon as possible.
Suddenly, Xiaohong let out a startled cry, pointing to a hidden compartment in the corner of the wall. "Look! What’s this?"
