Chapter 3841: More than Expected

There had to be a part of Alex inside his clone for his daughter to be born with his talent and blood. If nothing else, the clone had that part of him as the core from which he had formed. So, just as Sunflare had told him, there was a core inside the clone that came from Alex, allowing them to create the Soul Resonance.

There was likely more that went into that resonance, but for now, what Alex had learned was enough.

The older Alex came to the hall some time later, having fully learned two Daos at the same time. His face split into a wide grin as he walked in.

"Congratulations," Alex told him. "It’s no small feat to learn two Daos at once."

"Thank you," the older Alex said, slightly embarrassed. "Though something tells me I didn’t learn it all on my own."

Alex smiled. "I learned the Dao of Roots thanks to you, so it’s only fair that you learn the Dao of Lightning Conduction in exchange."

"Yes," the clone said. "Although, I think I gained more than that."

Alex blinked for a moment. "More? What else did you get?"

As far as Alex knew, he only had 2 Wood Daos. Now 3, thanks to the Dao of Roots. And the older Alex had learned all three of those as well, so he couldn’t imagine what else there was.

"I don’t think I got anything else entirely, but I know a lot more things about a lot of different things. Different knowledge of different Daos. They all feel incomprehensible to me, but they’re all there."

Alex stared at the older Alex with no small amount of shock as he began to understand what he meant.

"You learned part of all the Daos I have learned until now?" he asked.

"I believe so," the older Alex said. "That’s what it feels like, anyway."

Alex could see how that could happen, considering his clone had full access to everything he had learned during the time when their souls were in resonance. Did that mean that his clone could learn every Dao if they found a way to gain the resonance back again?

"Wait, you said you don’t understand what you got, right?" he asked.

The clone nodded. "It’s there, but it’s very difficult to understand," he said. "It’s like trying to complete a high-level math problem. I understand the words individually, but together they are nonsense to me."

"Yeah, I think I get what is happening," Alex said. "You lack an affinity for the other elements, so you cannot learn anything else. You would need a Spirit root to learn it all."

The older Alex blinked in surprise before his eyes narrowed with curiosity. "Does that mean I can learn more Daos from you if I get those Spirit roots?"

Alex nodded.

"Don’t be foolish," Sunflare spoke up. "Be happy with what you have. Gaining other Spirit roots is practically impossible."

No one said anything in return and simply nodded toward the Celestial.

Meanwhile, Alex’s mind already went through the various avenues he could take to help the older Alex. The simplest of solutions involved directly transplanting a new Spirit root into his body, but the chances of it being rejected were far too high to safely attempt it.

More than that, if someone realized what he had done, especially the fact that it was very much a demonic technique in the eyes of others, he would be dealt with more harshly than when he was considered the Destroyer.

As such, there was only one avenue to take.

I need to find a way to get the Sky God to give me the Spirit root-giving pill she has, he thought. For that, I must first be able to understand it completely.

His spiritual sense was strong, but he would rather it be stronger. At least, he wanted to reach the Immortal Spirit realm first and then try it. By the time he entered the Divine realm, he would’ve hopefully gained an idea of exactly how the pill worked and found ways to replicate it into other Spirit root-giving pills.

"I’ll see what I can do for you," Alex said in the end. "For now, you can stay here or return and rest."

"I’ll stay here," the older Alex said. "I’ve given the formation platform to Emily, so she should be able to learn her Dao faster as well. Hopefully, we will both be able to reach the Immortal realm at the same time."

Alex nodded. "How is your regular training coming along? Are you strong enough to fight the tribulation?"

"Mother and Ronron have been helping us, so I think we’re fine. You should train us one of these times to see where we’re at, though," he said.

Alex agreed. "If I find some time, I will."

Alex brought out Pearl and Whisker to congratulate the older Alex. Both of the beasts were happy to see the clone make such progress.

Pearl especially was the happiest of them all to hear that. He had spent so many years as a crippled beast, taken care of by the older Alex and Emily when he was separated from Alex while escaping the Mad Immortal.

As such, he had a far deeper connection to the older Alex than even Alex did, despite Alex being able to form a Soul Resonance with him.

After some time, Alex brought Ronron out as well. She had just reached the end of her current cultivation cycle when he called her out. Once she found out about her father learning 2 more Daos, she was extremely happy as well.

Everyone was.

For the next two days, the group stayed together and talked to each other with happy voices and wide grins.

And then, the message came for Alex from the Sky God.

"He’s here. You should come over."

Alex read the message with a blank face for a moment before taking a deep breath.

"I’ll be leaving for a while," Alex told his family. "A God wants to meet me."
