Chapter 3323 Demon's Record of Godslayer
Chapter 3323 Demon’s Record of Godslayer
“The Godslayer?” Shumi turned toward the final Origin. “There’s quite
a bit of information, but I don’t see what that has to do with what
we’re talking about.”
“Indulge my idle curiosity.”
Shumi accepted his request and began speaking as she recalled everything she had learned about the Godslayer.
“They say it’s a vengeful spirit of someone who was betrayed before death by some god, which is why they wish to kill only gods. The spirit takes over different bodies, so there’s no clear description, but the person who hosts the spirit is always seen with black veins around their skin and has the sclera of their eyes completely blacked out. They also carry a long and thin black sword.”
“It is said that the Godslayer can never die, and will always find a way to come back no matter how many times he’s killed, just like the Undying God. Only, the Godslayer comes back as the one who killed him, the spirit somehow corrupting the winner.”
“First noted in the Battle of the Black Death near the Eternal Isles, Godslayer showed no distinction between humans or demons and killed anyone who stood in its way. Our people quickly realized that Godslayer would leave them alone if they did the same, and only go for the so-called Gods of the Humans. He was a pivotal figure in our survival in the war for such a long time, albeit completely by accident.”
Shumi kept on talking about the various instances when the Godslayer had appeared and completely changed the tides of the battle by simply going after the humans who dared to follow gods.
Several of the gods’ deaths were recorded by the demons as well, which had been a major blow to the humans. But in some instances, a few of the demon fighters had also been caught up in the battle and had thus ended up dying.
“His last appearance was over a hundred thousand years ago, in a battle outside the Frozen Haven realm. No one has heard or seen him in the time since then, but it is noted that the Sky God holds a vault with many treasures and destructive artifacts, and Godslayer may be one of the few things she may have kept hold of.”
Alex remained silent as he stared at Shumi for a long time. He couldn’t believe how close the demons were to being correct on almost everything.
They knew about him being a vengeful spirit, wanting to kill gods, and somehow ending up in the Sky God’s vault.
“What’s wrong?” Shumi asked.
“Nothing. I’m just surprised at how detailed the Demons keep their records,” Alex said with a slight shake of his head.
“I’m sure the humans do too,” Shumi said.
“I’m sure they do,” Alex said and gestured toward the final Origin. “Take out the spirit of vengeance from Godslayer, and that is all that remains.
Shumi raised an eyebrow in surprise. “You made one of your Creations based on Godslayer?” she asked.
“Not based on Godslayer. That is Godslayer,” Alex said. “The vengeful spirit within Godslayer is dead now. And all that remains of him, his corrupting aura and his memories, it’s all mine. This was my first Creation, Godslayer.”
Shumi couldn’t wrap her head around what Alex meant. How was she even supposed to react in the first place?
“That’s… Godslayer?” she asked, pointing at the fully black Origin.
“What remains of him, yes,” Alex said.
What was she even supposed to say at that point?
“How did you acquire it?” she asked finally.
Alex went into a brief history of how he met Godslayer and became friends. He explained part of Godslayer’s history as the Artifact God and how he had been betrayed by other gods, most of whom had died
by now.
“Aren’t you worried about him corrupting you someday?” Shumi asked.
“As I said, the spirit that did the corrupting is gone. It’s only the power that remains,” Alex explained.
“And that’s still a corrupting power, no doubt,” Shumi said.
“No doubt, but that’s not what I’m using it for,” Alex said. “The
Godslayer was the Artifact God, and now I have all of his memories through this. With time, I can become as great at making artifacts as I am at making pills.”
“You still have to be careful,” Shumi warned. “Who knows how the Creation can manifest when it’s finally time for you to become a
Divinity.”
Alex nodded. “There’s no worry,” he said. “It’s my Creation, so I can always control it. I was fine with Godslayer, so the Creation should have no issues either.”
Shumi gave a subtle nod. “I still find it hard to believe that you not only let Godslayer live in your Spiritual Sea, but were actually friends
with him.”
Alex shrugged. “I mean, what else could I really do? He couldn’t take over my mind, and I couldn’t destroy him completely. So we were stuck with each other, and at that point we might as well become
friends, right?”
Shumi nodded. “When you say it like that, it does make sense,” she said while rubbing her forehead. “Anything else you want to let me know right now so I can get all the surprises over with right away?” Alex chuckled slightly. “Sure. Surprise, uhh… let’s see. Something you don’t know.”
“Have I told you that my master is the Sword God?” he asked. “Then there’s the fact that I have 3 of the 4 Heavenly Beasts’ bloodlines.”
Shumi’s eyes widened.
“They don’t do anything though. They only help with my spirit roots.
Speaking of which, I have all 7 Spirit Roots, of which 3 are of the Supreme Grade, and the other 4 highly superior.”
Shumi’s mouth hung open.
“They, along with my talent, have allowed me to learn 39 Daos in total,
including 5 Space Daos and 4 Time Daos. I have formed my Sword Heart recently, so there’s that. Except for my Qi, my physical and
mental strength are well into the Divine Realm.”
Shumi took in every word with a look of pure shock.
“Oh, and finally. This is probably the most important,” Alex said with emphasis. “I also have a daughter.”
