Chapter 2162: Root’s Resolve

"How many times do we have to do this, Oberon?! I already told you that I will never let you take these people from me, even less will I let you touch me again!" Alma roared, holding Knife with her right hand and swinging him down, as a gigantic slashing wave of her own Mana, fused with Knife’s Divine Venerable Essence slashed through Oberon’s army, killing dozens of dwarves inside of their massive golems, which exploded into pieces one after another.

SLAAAASH!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

"Hmph, somehow this is even easier than previous attempts, are you running out of Soul Clones to call for help?" Alma asked angrily. "I’m going to cut you down!"

"Don’t be too confident, Alma, I have prepared more than you think this time!" Oberon roared. "Now, activate the Mechanical Array Formation!"

Suddenly, over a hundred Golems stopped marching forward, digging their legs into the ground and raising their bulky mechanical arms, as their bronze-colored bodies glowed with blue and golden light, their round heads erecting a large antenna.

FLAAASH!

"W-What’s this?!" Callon was confused. "I have never seen this technology before, it’s not Oberon’s usual Technomancy, this is Dwarven Magitech!"

Dwarven Magitech was a completely different breed of technology, while the power of Technomancy allowed its wielders to create hyper futuristic technology from the original wielder of this power’s world, Dwarven Magitech was made and born in the world of Yggdrasil.

Primarily fueled by the burning of Mana Cores and other magic materials, and resembling something more similar to Steampunk technology, they were a type of technology which could be said to be technomancy’s weakness, as technomancy could simply not modify it, and was in fact, rather weak to it.

FLUOSH!

Within seconds, the golems unified their magic power into a massive formation around Oberon’s larger golem, acting as the core... lightning connected together into a massive array.

"{Mana Siphoning Array}!"

"What?!"

TRUUUM!

Suddenly, Alma and everyone else felt a sudden pain in their entire bodies, as their Mana was being rapidly drained out of their bodies! They groaned in pain, vomiting blood out of nowhere, their eyes red shot. Alma screamed, falling to the floor in agony, the Mana of her body was being drained at such a fast speed that her entire body started twisting in agony.

Indeed, she had "Endless Mana" but the more she had it drained, the more her body had to take upon the burden and pain, her soul started gaining tiny cracks, and she was bleeding out of nowhere.

"Alma!" Hermes panicked, as he barely could crawl towards her. "This bastard! He prepared this just for us!"

"Indeed," Root said, his claws looming above them, spreading a cage of wood and spirit energy. "It doesn’t seem to affect divine beings like me too much, but the effect is still very strong..."

"Hahahah! It works! Now give me all your Mana, Alma! With this, we’ll finally move to the next step of our plan!" Stone laughed. "With Fate about to shatter, the only thing left to do is to begin the Main Soul’s reincarnation!"

"BASTARD!" Alma screamed, as she swung Knife at full power, glistening moonlight emerged from within, glowing with pink and purple light. "Knife! Cut that bastard apart!"

"Alma, wait!" Knife tried to stop Alma’s recklessness, as the slashing wave of Mana was quickly consumed before it could even hurt anybody.

"Thank you, that was a large amount!" Stone laughed.

"D-Damn it!" Alma screamed, vomiting blood. "Uugh...!"

"Magic won’t work!" Callon said. "Elma! Elena! Are you okay? Can you do something?"

"We’re on it!"

"Yeah!"

Aside from Root, the Psychic twins seemed to be capable of resisting the powerful Array, mostly because since they were born they have been using their Psychic Powers, and their bodies had grown accustomed to not harboring too much Mana, becoming less dependent on it.

The twins pointed their hands forward, amassing large quantities of Psychic Energy and manifesting a gigantic almost invisible hand composed out of it.

"HAAAAH!"

Both roared at the same time, as the hand rushed down, trying to crush the formation...

CRAAASH!

However, it stopped, as a giant forcefield was forced around the entire array, stopping the hand from crushing the entire formation.

"I am well aware of all you can do, and I have prepared very well! Anti Psychic Forcefield! And for you two troublesome twins... Take this!"

Suddenly, Oberon’s golem transformed, growing a large cannon over its head, and firing an invisible shockwave of energy.

The twins protected themselves with Root’s help, but the shockwave reached them anyway, their eyes widening, as they felt an agonizing sound piercing their heads.

"Aaaaaaggh!"

"Uuugghh?!"

They grabbed their heads in agony, their eyes and noses bleeding, as they felt their psychic power was being shut down almost completely, while their brains were being fried.

"This is how I deal with annoying Psychics. Did you really think you were invincible?! Think again! Oh, right, you cannot even think right now, can’t you?! Gahahahaha! Your brains are going to melt in a minute from now! Enjoy the show!"

The dwarven soul fragment laughed evilly, as he mocked everyone, Root sighed, his powers manifesting as the ground beneath the formation trembled.

RUMBLE!

And from within, part of his body emerged, hundreds of giant trees, wooden branches and roots pierced through the golems, destroying them by the dozens!

CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!

"W-Wha...?!"

Stone was shocked, as he didn’t think about this! It seemed that he had not taken into consideration just how much stronger Root had become.

And how larger he truly was...

Indeed, because Root’s true body size was...

Over several kilometers.

"T-This is...?!"

Stone’s eyes widened, his mouth wide open as he suddenly detected an immense quantity of divine power, spirit energy, and mana surging from underground.

His radars detected a massive body underground... roots, countless roots everywhere.

"I-Impossible...! What is this?! You’re...!"

Indeed, Root had grown his body underground all these years, managing to become a gigantic lifeform that has spread up to almost five kilometers already.

"I’m sorry, Oberon, but since I saw those visions, that I have decided that I would not let anybody die!"

In those visions, Root had seen the twins die, Callon was also injured and died later, and even Alma was ultimately killed as her soul was shattered into pieces from the pressure of her Endless Mana being siphoned so fast she couldn’t handle it.

But now, through Root’s preparations, and while taking full advantage of his strange body, he had done something not even Stone thought about.
